90. The Breakup Part 2 (Season 1, episode 17)

This episode is one of Rory's most immature. Whether or not she wants to wallow is beside the point. But instead of dealing with her issues, in whatever way she feels necessary, she pretends like nothing is wrong and like she's not hurting. Even worse, she refuses to tell people what really went down and lets everyone think it's all Dean's fault. Further showing her growth in the romantic department, Lorelai attempts to get over her fears and get back together with Max, a stark contrast to Rory's stagnancy. To make matters worse, Rory drags the very vulnerable Tristan down with her in an attempt to pretend there's nothing wrong. It shows Rory at her weakest and most vulnerable and proves how much further she has to go, while showing a little bit of growth on Lorelai's part.

High points: Henry and Lane are very cute, at least for the time being. Lorelai is trying to help her daughter which is nice, even if she doesn't want to help herself.

Low points: Rory is really awful in this episode.
