16. The Bracebridge Dinner (Season 2, Episode 10)
Yet another time when the ever eclectic Stars Hollow citizens get together for a night of drama and hilarity, the Bracebridge dinner is a truly classic episode. All of Stars Hollow (plus Richard and Emily, and of course, Paris) spend an evening at the Independence Inn, complete with strange food, horse drawn carriages, and Bootsy playing Hotel California on his stomach with spoons. Richard announces to the whole group that he has retired without telling Emily, eliciting an understandable level of hostility. Drama ensues. Luke lies to Jess about his mother's request to see him over Christmas holidays. Jess and Dean get in a little fight, Rory and Jess become closer, Christopher asked to spend the holidays with Rory. Drama, of course, ensues. Many people's favorite episode, and rightfully so, The Bracebridge Dinner is full of the hilarious antics and dramatic revelations that we have come to expect from Gilmore Girls.
High points: All the best Stars Hollow citizens together under one roof, Rune speaking like an old man instead of in old English, more Jess and Rory chemistry, the ugly baby gag
Low points: Seeing Emily publicly humiliated when she didn't know her husband had retired
Best quote: "I have a new years' resolution for you. Become more cynical and self absorbed."- Lorelai
