12. Cinnamon's Wake (Season 1, Episode 5)
The focal point of this episode is a funeral for Babbette's cat, which is quirky and funny, and this one is our first insight into how truly different our friends in Stars Hollow can be. Both the funeral and Emily's reaction to it prove to be even funnier than we would expect from a cat's funeral. In addition, we also see the first real substantive disagreement that the Gilmore Girls have. Dating Max is the first decision Lorelai has made for herself in a long time, and proves that she has her own life, separate from Rory. It's a very funny episode, but it also gives us a little more insight into the relationships of the show.
High points: Quirky Stars Hollow event, Kirk's first appearance as Kirk, awkward Sookie and Luke interactions
Low points: Rory's erratic behavior with regard to Dean.
