--Geovanni Parris--

"Not her business?" Elliott repeated. "That's what you told her is, it's not her business?" I sighed as I ran my hand down my face.

"Could you stop saying it like that?"

"Like what?" He raised a brow at me. "Like you're stupid?" He tilted his head to the side. "That's because you are stupid."

"Man, Elliott, I fucked up." I sighed

"You're damn right you fucked up." He shook his head. "How you gon' sit here and tell me how much you're feeling shawty and have the balls to tell her that who you're into isn't her business?" He scoffed. "That was your shot, right there!" He emphasised.

"Man, it's not like Jules and I could actually have anything going on." I attempted to justify.

"And you certainly made sure that you both never will." He took a swig of his beer.

"I don't even know if she's feeling me like that." I reminded him.

"That's why you shouldn't have said that shit!" He threw his hands up. "Now, you're never gonna know!"

"What should I do, man?" I shook my head at myself.

"That's for you to figure out." He huffed as he lined himself up behind the cue ball on the billard board, resuming our game.

After losing to Elliott at this pool game twice, it was time for me to go ahead and get home before Julliet got home from school. I dapped Elliott, grabbed my phone and made my exit.

"Hey." I smiled at Julliet as she got into the house.

"Hey Geo." She smiled back as she tossed her bag on to the couch.

"Skylar's coming over. She'd be just a while since their lecture isn't quite over as yet." I mentally rolled my eyes at the mention of Skylar's name, but nodded nonetheless.

"How was ya day?" I asked as she sat next to me in the couch.

"Oh, it was fine."

"Missed me?" I smirked. Julliet turned toward me and returned my smirk.

"Did you miss me?" She countered. I ran my tongue over my lips and nodded boefore pausing the video game I was playing, then held her stare.

"Of course." I reached over, laced my fingers with hers and rubbed the back of her hand with my thumb.

Lately, I found myself being really affectionate toward Jules. It's like I wasn't even giving it much thought. I just acted on impulse.

She didn't seem to mind either. Most times, she just looked away while she blushed. Just as she was doing right now.

"I missed you too, Geo." She maintained our eye contact and pulled her lower lip between her teeth. Her hand became a little clammy in mine.

"I make you nervous?" My voice came out in an unintentionally, husky growl.

"Uh-" Julliet looked beyond me nervously and bit her lips as though she was searching for the right words to say.

I felt my mouth go dry as I stared intently at her lips and wondered what they might taste like.

Without giving it much thought, I began to lean in. I was so close that I could practically smell the cherry gloss which coated her lips.

I could see her staring at me with confused anticipation.

Her lips slowly parted and she began to lean in as well, but the sound of the door opening caused her to draw back from me.

I sighed and sat up straight in the chair like she was now doing.
