--Julliet Parris--

Geovanni was asleep and I didn't want to wake him, so I just laid in the bed of our dimly lit room, illuminated only by the light from the television and the only sound I could hear was the sound of Geo's light breathing.

I stared at him as he slept like I often would when we were younger, the only difference is that now, I didn't have to sneak around to do it.

Geo's phone lit up on the nightstand beside him and something told me to check it. I carefully got out of the bed, so that I didn't wake him, because Geo always slept lightly. Successfully getting out of the bed, I tiptoed toward his side and retrieved the phone before quietly making my way toward the door with it in my hand. I tried to quietly and carefully turn the door knob and exit the room unnoticed. After being successful in doing so, I quickly ran down the stairs and into the kitchen, making it just in time for the phone to start ringing again.

Sliding the bar on the screen to answer the unknown call, I brought the phone up to my ear and listened.

"Hello?" It was a feminine voice. My breath hitched in the back of my throat at the realization that some woman was annonymously calling my husband at three o' clock in the morning.

"Hello?" I returned the greeting.

"Is Geovanni around?"

"He's asleep like we should all be, shouldn't we?" I retorted.

"Girl, I didn't call to speak to you. You could wake him up." This bitch sassed.

"Girl?" I repeated. "Bitch, I'm his wife. Why the hell are you calling my husband at three in the damn morning?"

"Last I heard, your ass was depressed. So take your depressed ass back to sleep and give Geovanni his phone."

"Why don't you make this easy for the both of us and tell me what the hell you want?" I snarled. "Maybe, you'd have an opportunity to be the next Mrs. Parris." I gritted.

I wasn't sure what to think right now, because I couldn't take anymore stress and I'd be damned if Geo was out here running around and not thinking about all the shit he's already put me through. I had no more straws left. They were all gone and if this was what it seemed to be, then I'm fucking gone. Done. Finished.

"If being the next Mrs. Parris is going to have me looking so crazy, then I pass, homegirl. Tell Geo, I called." And just like that, the call ended.

I thought of slamming his phone out of rage, but if his phone is broken, then he'd know that I had it. I attempted to unlock his phone, but it required a password and I had no clue where to start.

I decided to judt try the date on which we got married and to my surprise, the phone unlocked.

Cute. I thought to myself. I thought about reading his measages, but I just went to the call list and deleted the received, unknown call instead. I took a seat at our dining room table and buried my face in my hands.

My husband wouldn't cheat on me again, right?

He wouldn't put us through that type of bullshit again. Right?

He's happy. Isn't he?

My eyes stung as fresh tears announced themselves.

"What are you doing down here in the dark?" Geo asked, startling me.

I quickly slipped his phone between my legs.

"I had a nightmare and I didn't want to wake you." I told half a truth.
