5 years later...
--Julliet Parris--
"Hey!" I greeted my daughter and son-in-law. They both graduated college last year and are now engaged and living together.
"Hey Mom." Lia beamed.
"Hey Mom." Nate repeated as he embraced me.
They were the last ones to arrive, so we could finally get this thing on the road.
Today's Geovanni's birthday and we were having a sit-down dinner for him.
Alot has changed over the last five years.
Entering the dinning room with Guilia and Nathan, I observed my family. Everyone was laughing, interacting with each other and having a good time. It's amazing how much things have changed in such a short time.
I'm so proud of Guilia and Nate. It's rare for people their age to stay in love these days, but Geo and I made it, so I shouldn't be too surprised.
Also, given Guilia's unfortunate situation with her ex that left her scarred for a while, her and Nathaniel's relationship has really pulled through.
With our support, Thalia began dating and met a guy whom she found herself really liking. So far, Lance, her new man, has been good to her and Geo and I seem to have no reason to be worried. It also doesn't make me miss her any less either. I miss her alot.
I am in love with her, but I understood that she was ready to move past all the bad experiences with Elliott and find a socially acceptable kind of love.
I was so paranoid and worried about her that Geo and I literally spied on her dates. Just in case shit got out of hand.
Lace knows about the relationship Thalia shared with me and surprisingly, he was ok with that.
As for Elliott, he was arrested, put on trial and sentenced to jail time for his assault on Thalia.
Krys and Brianna are now married. They had the support of Geovanni, Thalia and I to do so when he turned eighteen, just as we had promised them.
They are currently living in the two-bedroom apartment downstairs me and Geovanni's house. Their next planned move after Krys graduates college is to start a business and have a child.
As for Genovia, my highschooler, she isn't anything short of a girly girl. She's into cheerleading and stuff like that. As for a boyfriend, there hasn't been a mention of any. Not even the slightest evidence that she actually has feelings for guys, but she goes to my restaurant and my pastry chef, who is a lady, teaches her how to make different pastries.
Yes, Gen seems to be taking the culinary route. More specifically, Pastry Arts. As a matter of fact, she baked all the bread and desserts for this dinner. She's that good.
Junior, our elementary schooler and our baby is a little poet and musician. He's even been dabbling in writing his own songs and singing them for us to hear.
All of kids found their own passions and I couldn't be happier.
Grandma was in her seat admiring everyone as usual. Sort of what I usually catch myself doing a lot. I could definitely see how much each of these individuals have left their mark on me.
Mom and Dad have been doing well. They act as though their love is still young. Who am I to judge? Geo and I are the same damn way.
My eyes landed on my man, who was sharing a few laughs with our son-in-law to be and eldest daughter while being engaged in conversation with them.
