--Geovanni Parris--

I came home to find Thalia sitting on the front porch with her eyes red.

"What happened?" I questioned as I walked over to her.

"Your daughters happened." Krys answered, shaking his head as he placed a glass of water in front of Thalia.

"What they do?" I questioned.

"Lia basically told Thalia to move out, because she thinks Thalia is trying to replace Mom." Krys informed me as he sat beside Thalia.

Thalia didn't even make the effort to reply and I wouldn't expect her to tell me that herself, because just like Julliet, she'd protect the kids even if they're wrong.

"Is that true?" I asked Thalia as I sat opposite them.

"Just leave them alone, Geo." She shrugged. "Their Mom's sick and damn near dying and I'm playing Mommy to them and spouse to their father, so I understand their dilemma." She shrugged again.

"Their little asses are going to get it." I huffed. "Especially Lia, since she thinks she's so grown these days."

Lia has been rebellious ever since her Mom was admitted to the hospital. She's been sneaking in and out the house and smoking weed I didn't supply for her. She's also fucking, but that's another story for another day.

"Lia!" I boomed.

"She's not at home, Dad." Krys informed me.

"Where the fuck is she?" I questioned, causing him to shrug.

"Calm down, Geo." Thalia advised. "How is Jules doing?" She asked, trying to change the topic.

"I approved the surgery and I almost thought that she had a heart attack today. Everyone did, but her heart rate increased as a sign that she was fighting really hard to wake up." I shrugged.

"Really?" Thalia's eyes lit up, causing me to chuckle a little.

"Yeah, I asked her to and I guess she heard me." I sighed. "Apparently, she's responding to stimuli now." I informed them. "Loud noises, tickling the bottom of her feet and she hears conversations." I explained.

"Yaasss!" Thalia clapped excitedly.

I know that Thalia misses Jules just as much as I do. I caught her wearing her perfume a few times and sometimes, she'd cry in the middle of the night.

Krys was grinning at all this. Krys and Julliet had always been each other's favorites. Krys hadn't been his normal comedian self since she was admitted into the hospital.

His jokes stopped abruptly the day she was admitted, but they slowly and forcefully found their way back into his conversations overtime. Yet, he still doesn't make as much of them as he used to.

"Don't worry Thalia, you know Mom might be more excited to see you than Dad." He joked, causing all of us to laugh. "She used to ditch him for you enough."

"Your little ass needs to find yourself some business." I shook my head.

"Like Lia?" He threw shade. "I'll pass."

I huffed and shook my head at the thought of Lia and her actions recently.

All of us had our ways of dealing with Julliet's situation and Lia's was one I didn't appreciate at all.

"Just talk to her." Thalia advised. I was beyond having the patience to just talk to Lia. She's been doing too much.

"I ran out of patience for her, Ali." I admitted.

"Her mother is going through something and so is she, Geo." She reminded me.

"We are all going through it, Ali, it doesn't give her the right." I huffed.

"Ali, Dad?" Krys called.

"Sup Krys?" I asked.

"Brianna and I want to be married when I'm eighteen." He informed us. "So, can we?" He asked.

"That's three years from now." Ali realized.

"Yeah." Krys nodded.

"I guess..." Ali trailed.

"What Ali means Krys, is when the time comes and if you two are ready, we'd support you." I assured Krys.

"Thanks guys." He smiled at us.

"Good morning, Lia." I greeted as she strolled into the house at one in the morning.

"Hi." She huffed as she rolled her eyes.

"Where you been?" I asked.

"Out." She shrugged.

"And where is out?" I questioned.

"Somewhere that's not here." She rolled her eyes.

"Cool." I shrugged. "Let me see your keys?" I asked. She reluctantly handed her bunch of keys to me. "You see these?" I asked as I took them from her, watching as she nodded in response. "These are my keys, to my house." I emphasized. "And since you want to act grown in my house and come up in here whenever you feel like, I'm taking my keys. If you're not in by the time I lock those damn doors and those damn windows, you can stay the hell out." I spat.

"Since you've replaced Mom, you expect us to do the same. I'm not coming up in this house to some woman who's not my Mom." She spat.

"I didn't replace your Mom, she did." I retorted. "She was the one who wanted us to start sleeping with each other, ok?" I huffed. "I only kept Thalia around because your Mom wanted her around. She started off as your Mom's girlfriend. I only accepted her to keep your Mom happy." I rambled.

"Mom's no longer here so why is she?" She huffed.

"She's here because this is where she belongs. Whether or not your Mom is around or whether or not I'm around. She'd be here for the both of us." I gritted.

"You and Mom are so gross." She scowled.

"We were gross enough to create you, so you should be grateful for that." I shot back. "Go to your fucking room and I don't wanna see you unless it's meal time or you're going to and coming from school. That's in effect until I say." I served her with her penalty. "Your allowance is now five dollars a day." I shrugged. "So you could decide if you're going to buy food with it or continue buying weed from wherever the fuck you're buying it from." I shrugged. "And bring me all them fucking condoms you got in your room." I continued. "You end up pregnant or contract a disease, you're on your own." I informed her.

She huffed and stormed her way up to her room.

I sighed as I reminded myself that I just did the right thing.
