Chapter 13 Fitting in

It was nightfall by the time Fredrick returned to camp, with his paws empty he had been to upset about Denny that he couldn't find any prey to bring back. Cleo walked up to him and frowned. "Hmm, nothing hu?" Fredrick sighed "Well we're not allowed to hunt other shiny Pokemon, and there's not much to find around here."
Cleo nodded. "Well at least you came back, was the most important part of your test, when we hunt we usually go outside our borders and then come back after." Then he walked away.
Scarlet came racing towards him. "Fredrick, what's wrong? you look like you saw a ghost type." Fredrick had a few tears coming out of his eyes and he sat down. "I saw Denny he was watching us."
"What!" Scarlet gasped out loud.
"Shhh!, I don't want someone to hear us because they might go after him if they find out he came back." Scarlet got up. "Let's take this conversation back to the den." Fredrick slowly got up and padded after her as they went for their den.
Once they got inside the den, Fredrick sat with his head down. Scarlet sat right beside him "So what did he want?" She asked, "He wanted me to escape with him, I told him no, then he tried to force it on me." Scarlet looked unhappy. "And he didn't care about the fact that I would have been on my own?" Fredrick sat in silence. "that's why I stayed, I couldn't leave, I would have put his life in danger, Shawn's life, Charlie's even."
"Don't be upset about Denny, he will come back with Shawn, maybe as soon as he gets back home he will start to prepare for it," Scarlet said. Fredrick still didn't feel convinced. "I feel bad, I really upset him, I think he might be mad at me."
Scarlet looked frustrated. "well he shouldn't have been dumb enough to come for you, in the first place, he will get over it Fredrick you'll see." Scarlet froze for a bit. "What Eeveeloution was he when you saw him?"
"He didn't evolve yet, he said he was heading to the ice mountains to evolve." Scarlet let out a sigh of relief. "Oh good, so he's gonna be a Glaceon then."
"What?.... oh that dream you had."
"It wasn't just a dream!" Scarlet snapped at him.
She started crying Fredrick froze. "What?" She wipes her tears away. "Fredrick, I had a vision, I'm upset because I died, and now I don't know what to do." Fredrick started to worry.
'Oh no but Scarlet can't die, it can't happen! No.... I won't let her die. Fredrick looked at Scarlet
"It's okay Scarlet maybe it's a good thing you saw that, because now we're aware of it, we've just gotta find a way to fix it." Scarlet looked up at him. "Maybe you're right, but I don't know how."
"Well, what happened? you said you were killed by a Vaporeon?" Fredrick sighed. "It's too bad I'm a fire type, I don't have a chance with a water type"
"Yeah he attacked me and threw me in the river then left me to drown which I did, but he didn't stick around to watch me die." Fredrick lifted his head. "So you just gotta learn how to swim then?"
Scarlet shook her head "I'm pretty sure if he realizes that I can swim he will find another way to kill me, it will be just me and him... and he was pretty powerful." Her voice started to tremble a bit as he could tell she was scared. "Oh, Fredrick I don't stand a chance." She started crying.
"No Scarlet I will be there!"
"You promise?"
Fredrick hugged her "I promise."
"But what if he kills you, I mean if I can't beat him... how can you? You're a fire type."
"Because we will beat him together."
Fredrick had a thought. "So someone that Shawn and Denny find will be a traitor?, why would a normal Pokemon wanna help Darel?"

Fredrick got out of bed the next day, he sighed
'I miss Shawn and Denny right now. I'm sorry I couldn't go with you Denny please don't be mad at me. Cleo broke his thoughts. "Scarlet time to get up it's your turn to go out on your own now."
Scarlet yawned and got up. "Oh, great I get to go out!" She ran out of the den right away. "See you later Fredrick!"
"Bye, have fun Scarlet!" Richard yawned got up and started grumbling. "Oh, I just can't wait for my two sons to make me proud when they kill Darle!" He got up slowly. "I'm sorry Fredrick since I'm forced for that third in command I'm very busy trying to lie to Darle about liking it here" he padded outside.
Fredrick felt hungry. 'I guess I'll get something to eat then' He walked towards where the prey storage was, then Erand stopped him. "Ha, I don't think so you didn't catch anything yesterday." Fredrick growled, "If you're looking for another fight, I could take you on!" Erand laughed. "Your funny Flareon, what makes you think you can beat me?"
Fredrick got mad and started to heat up and he used overheat. "Arug!" Erand snarled. "Oh, that's it you!" Erand jumped on Fredrick and pinned him down and used a night slash.
Fredrick growled and used flame burst which threw him off, Fredrick ran up and used bite. "Have you had enough Erand?" Fredrick snarled at him. "Gerrr you can't talk to me like that!"
"Why? Who are you? no one! my dad is third in command not you!"
"RA I'M GONNA KILL YOU!" Before Erand could do anything Fredrick used a flamethrower followed by a flame charge which finished Erand
off. He fell to the ground unconscious. Fredrick grabbed a Rattata from the pile and sat down to eat. Darle flew up to him. "Way to go, Fredrick, that's what I like to see, I'm starting to trust in you why don't you go out if you want?"
Fredrick felt happy. "Really, I'm free to do what I want now?" Darle nodded. "I trust you now, just don't disappoint me" Then he flew off again like he always does. A Luxio walked up to Fredrick. "I'm sorry do you mind if I join you?" He asked Fredrick shrugged. "Sure thing" He sat down with his food. "So I saw you with that Eevee the other day," he said in a low voice so no one could hear it except Fredrick.
Fredrick felt alarmed. "what? You're not gonna tell are you?" He shook his head. "No, you don't recognize me?" Fredrick took a glance at him. "You were part of that Secret meeting weren't you?" He nodded. "We're all together, that was your brother you mentioned at the meeting right?"
"Umm... Yea.. why?" He asked. "Well I heard you guys talking and he promised to bring an army back. We can fight alongside him, all of us together I think we should make plans for it."
Fredrick nodded. "yeah, I can't wait for that day to come when my brothers come they will fight alongside us to kill all the evil shiny Pokemon, and we can be free at last."
"My name is Zack by the way and you?"
"Im Fredrick"
"Well, Fredrick, do you maybe know when this attack will be?" He shook his head. "No clue we will just have to be ready when it comes."
Zack got up. "Well I'm gonna go talk to Kristy about it, I think we should start preparing, your brother sounded like he's gonna start getting ready right away."
Fredrick felt puzzled "Oh, yeah I guess what makes you think that?"
"Oh, I heard him shouting how he wants Darle dead after you left." Then Zack finished his food.
"See you later Fredrick nice talking to you." Then he walked away. 'Denny had a meltdown. He was really upset. I can't wait till he comes back then he'll be happy to see me again.
