Chapter 38 Near death

Fredrick's P.O.V.

Fredrick slowly opened his eyes to see Roary and Lupin standing there. "Your back.." He croaked in a weak voice feeling unsteady and tired. Fredrick had also been hallucinating a lot. Lupin pushed a pecha berry towords him. "Fredrick eat this berry it will save you." Fredrick slowly turned his head to look at a pink berry. "What is it?" He asked. Lupin nudes it closer to him. "This will heal the poison." Fredrick took a few small bites out of it then he paused feeling too sick to finish it. Roary looked frustrated. "Finish it, you need to eat the whole berry!" Fredrick forced himself to swallow it down then felt like he was gonna vomit. Lupin looked worried. "No Fredrick hold it in you can't vomit it up or you'll die!" Fredrick lay still and closed his eyes feeling a heavy black wave taking over him making it hard to stay awake. Roary hissed. "NO! Look at me, Fredrick." Fredrick opened his eyes trying to stay awake and looked at the cat like Pokemon. "Don't sleep, Stay with me, you can't sleep!" His voice was a bit harsh but also full of panic. "You must stay awake." Fredrick looked across the den and to his shock he saw Shawn sitting there with a worried expression on his face. "Shawn is that you?" Tears formed in his eyes as he looked at the Umbreon. Lupin looked worried. "Fredrick, there's no one there." Roary hissed. "He's hallucinating! Fredrick, he's not there pull yourself together." Fredrick's eyes closed and he heard Shawn's voice. "Fredrick you have to fight it! Please fight it we can't allow you to die." His voice was full of panic and everything went black.

Fredrick opened his eyes to find that he wasn't sitting in the ice cave anymore but in the middle of a really beautiful forest instead and he felt a lot better like he wasn't even sick. Then a shiny Espeon approached him along with a Leafeon and a shiny Houndoom. Fredrick's mouth dropped open he had never been so happy to see them. "Mom!, Dad! Scarlet!" He ran up and hugged them and started crying. "I miss you all so much!" Scarlet hugged him back. "Fredrick, I'm happy you were able to make it this far." Then an Umbreon approached and looked at Fredrick, "Hello Fredrick it hasn't been fun drowning in the river." He grumbled. Fredrick ran up and hugged him "Shawn, I tried to save you but it was Denny's fault he didn't let me. I missed you so much!" Shawn and Scarlet both sat down beside each other and glanced at him. "Looks like you are the only one left," Shawn said. He didn't look very happy and Scarlet sighed. "I wish I were still alive." Fredrick felt guilty at that "Scarlet... Shawn, I'm so sorry." Julie padded over to them and Richard growled. "It's not your fault, Denny has betrayed us all and now there is only one Mon who can stop him." He looked at Fredrick. Fredrick's ears went down. "ME? But I'm dead now and I'm happy I finally get to be with you guys." Julie sadly shook her head. "Fredrick, it's up to you now to choose you can stay dead or be strong enough to fight it and I know you can." Fredrick took a few paw steps backwards. "But I don't want to go back I was killed by Denny just like you guys he won is it so bad?" He asked. Scarlet narrowed her eyes and Shawn looked scared. "Fredrick you don't understand you must go back." He sounded nervous. Fredrick felt uneasy. "Why? What's going to happen if I die?" Julie frowns. "Fredrick if you don't stop Denny no one ever will and he's going to kill thousands of lives. You're the only one who can stop him." Fredrick felt shocked at the news. "What! You mean I have to?" He paused. "Do I have to kill him?... I don't know if I can and even if I wanted to I don't stand a chance. I'm a fire type He became a Vaporeon just to kill me!" Shawn slowly walked by. "I was watching Denny, he was heartbroken after I died." Fredrick felt puzzled hearing that. "What?" Scarlet sighed "Look Fredrick he cares about you, why do Do you think he wants you dead so bad? it pains him to watch you live knowing you'll never have anything to do with him, so he's trying to kill you." Fredrick felt taken aback at that. "I don't want to fight Denny, I'm dead now there's nothing I can do." Scarlet hissed. "You're strong and can fight it, don't give up!" Fredrick frowned. "Well even if I do live, I don't want to fight Denny he has a whole army, I just want to live my life in peace." Scarlet smirked at him. "Good luck with that, Denny will be on your tail as soon as you wake up." Fredrick felt shocked. "No that's not possible he doesn't know where I am!" Shawn shook his head. "About that Jessie found out where you guys are hiding and she is on her way to report to Denny right now, Fredrick as soon as you're awake you need to get out of there!" Richard growled, "Don't worry Fredrick we'll help you, but don't think you're gonna get away without Denny realizing you're alive and well." Fredrick gritted his teeth "I don't want to!" Tears fell down his cheeks. "I just wanna be left alone, I don't want Denny coming after me." Shawn looked down at his paws. "I know, I've been there too, but it's your destiny to put a stop to him, I'm sorry but you have no choice or you'll die." Julie joined in. "You must stop him or there's going to be too much chaos if he continues to hurt shiny Pokemon. There's something we want to show you, and when you see you'll change your mind." Fredrick looked at her with a puzzled expression then the golden forest around them vanished and they were standing in the middle of a different forest Scarlet and Shawn sat beside him. "Fredrick this is what will happen in the future if you die now." Fredrick looked around. The forest was a mess there was lots of blood almost everywhere it looked like a big crime scene. It disgusted him. Fredrick felt puzzled the forest was quiet. "Where is everyone? There doesn't seem to be anyone around."  Scarlet looked upset "They are either dead or in hiding." Fredrick felt puzzled. "But Denny only kills shinies." Then suddenly he heard a loud sound. "ROAR!" Followed by the sound of screaming Pokemon. He saw Denny with his followers attacking innocent Pokemon and killing them without mercy then Denny gave a Signal and as if on cue the legendary Pokemon Entei along with Moltres
lit up the forest into flames. Denny and his group of water types dived into the river and vanished under the water, leaving the other Pokemon doomed to die in the flames. Fredrick felt shocked Richard walked up to him. "Not only this but he has destroyed a lot of forests all in his crazy desire to end all shiny Pokemon." Fredrick watched in horror as many Mons died a horrible death. Then something happened and the world went black. "Hey, what's going on!" Fredrick yelled in panic but got no answer then a shiny Umbreon slowly made its way toward him.
This spooked Fredrick. There was something unusual about this Umbreon its eyes were red. 'Hu? But don't shiny Umbreons have yellow eyes?' he locked eyes with him and gave an evil smirk. "They thought they could kill me but I got away! I stand alone and don't trust anyone!" He looked really angry and his eyes were bloodthirsty. "Join me shiny! We will have our revenge, that Vaporeon is going to pay for what he has done to me! along with all the stupid regular Pokemon!" He said in a menacing tone. Fredrick felt scared of this Umbreon and realized he was covered in blood. "We shinies will take over the world!" Then Fredrick saw another vision of a nasty war with Pokemon fighting left and right killing each other, both Shinies and regular Pokemon. It seemed to be a war that would never end. Then the vision cleared away and Fredrick was back in the forest with his siblings and parents. Richard gave him a look. "Now do you understand what's coming?" Fredrick looked at them. "So a war is gonna happen? Who was the shiny Umbreon?"
Julie frowned. "You will come to know him one day and you're the only one who can change where his paw steps will lead him, but that's only if you stay alive. If you die now you will never meet him." Shawn frowned. "And if you die now Denny will never stop. He's gonna live a long life causing destruction, pain and misery to many Pokemon, this is far worse than Darle."
Scarlet sighed "And while many shinies are dying, many regular Pokemon will be dying as well because of that Shiny Umbreon." She glanced at Fredrick. "Only you can change all of this." Fredrick felt lost. "When will I meet this Umbreon?" Julie nodded. "In time Fredrick but don't worry about that, just focus on stopping Denny." Fredrick looked at them. "So I have to start a war with him?" They all nodded. "We know war isn't good but this war between Shiny and Regular Pokemon must be stopped, or there will be a future where everyone will hate each other and there will always be that never-ending war." Fredrick nodded. "Ok, I'll go back it will take me some time and a lot of training to do but I will do my best, and when the time comes I'll be the one to end Denny once and for all." His voice cracked near the end of his sentence because deep down inside killing Denny was the last thing Fredrick wanted to do. 'But I have to because if I don't he'll kill me and many others. They all padded up to him. "Good now it's time for you to wake up Denny is coming for you."Then they all faded away and everything went black.

Fredrick opened his eyes to find that he was back in the ice cave Lupin was watching him. "Fredrick you're awake!" He barked excitedly then Roary came running towords him. "Holly Arceus! I didn't think you were ever gonna wake up, I thought we lost you." Fredrick still felt a little sick but not as bad thanks to the Pecha berry that now seemed to be working. Fredrick looked around the room Jennifer looked happy. "Fredrick, oh I thought you were dead!" She ran up and hugged him. Fredrick felt a little surprised he hardly knew the shiny Glaceon but she seemed to care a great deal for him. He smiled at her. "Yeah, I'll be fine thanks for caring." Then his eye caught a strange shiny Pikachu and a young little shiny Eevee in the room. "Who are you guys?" He asked Roary then answered. "They were in the prison den and when Lupin rescued me, I brought them with us." Fredrick was shocked when he saw Roary's face and noticed his left eye was gone. "Roary what happened to you?" He asked and the cat-like Pokemon looked annoyed with the question. "Denny did this ok, Moving on I don't want to talk about it." He grumbled and Fredrick felt bad for asking. The Pikachu introduced himself. "My name is Thunder it's nice to meet you, I heard stories about you. you're a legend the shiny Flareon that survived the great war with Darle." The little Eevee's eyes went big when he looked at Fredrick "Are you a hero?" Fredrick shook his head then looked at the Eevee and suddenly thought of the shiny Umbreon from his vision. 'This must be him! It has to be he's a shiny Eevee. Fredrick looked at the Eevee. "What's your name kid?" The Eevee smiled. "I'm Nathan." Jennifer looked concerned. "Do you remember where your family is? We should try to get you home it must be awful being separated from your parents." Then before anyone could say another word the lycanrocks started panicking. "Intruders were being attacked!" Then Fredrick felt a dark wave of shock fall over him.
I forgot I'm supposed to get out of here!
he felt panicky he got up.
"It's Denny! He's here to finish me off! We've got to go now!" He glanced at Jennifer and the other shinies. "He'll kill you guys too! We have to move!" Roary hissed. "What? There's no way he found us already!" Lupin looked Panicked.
"There's only one way in and out so we'll have to face him what do we do?" Thunder frowned as he answered. "We have to fight our way out!" Fredrick didn't like that idea. "No! once we're out there in the open we'll all get carried away by those flying types!" Jenifer frowned "So what? We wait here for them?" Roary nodded. "We might stand a better chance if we fight in here rather than out there." Fredrick looked around desperately. "Screw that!" He yelled and shot a flamethrower at the wall melting the ice and creating his own tunnel Roary hissed. "Are you crazy! you might cause this whole place to collapse!" Fredrick ignored him. "Everyone this way! Let the shinies go first! we're the ones he's after." Then Fredrick ran in with Jennifer right behind him carrying Nathan. She stopped and put him down. "I think I should travel in the back I can freeze the wall back up from behind." He nodded. "Good idea hurry!" Then they all lined up and started running through the new ice tunnel that Fredrick was making. He kept using flamethrower trying to make an Incline so they could get back outside. As Fredrick kept tunnelling up words he eventually opened up a home that revealed the outside world. 'Yes! We made it! He Cautiously peaked his head outside to make sure none of Denny's followers were around then when the coast looked clear he
climbed his way out and then helped the others up until everyone was out. Roary took the lead "Come on let's get out of here before they find us."
