43 A New Problem

Fredrick's P.O.V.

Fredrick was lying on a rock enjoying the warm evening sun when a voice called to him. "Hey, Fredrick what are you doing lying around? I thought you had big plans to face your brother?" He looked to see Roary had approached him.
"I do." He replied feeling slightly annoyed that the Persian had disturbed him. 'Can I not just live in peace for one day without having to worry about my brother? He thought bitterly to himself. Now Roary looked a bit impatient. "Look, Fredrick, I'm not trying to be rude but you do know this does require a lot of battle training right?" The shiny Flareon gave a long sigh. He knew that Roary was right. But he was also aware that he would need more Pokemon to join him first. 'Six of us is nothing compared to what Denny has. Then another thought hit him. 'How did Denny get so many Pokemon to follow him? Roary let out a sigh. "I know that look, don't worry we'll find more Pokemon to help but for now, let's battle!" Fredrick jumped down from his rock. "Ok, You're right I do need to get stronger." He said. "That's the spirit!" Roary said then got into a battle stance as so did Fredrick. "Now, Pretend I'm an enemy. I want you dead so show me what you're made of!" Fredrick got ready but to his surprise he was already hit with a thunderbolt before he could even move. He tumbled over and landed on his belly. "Too slow!" Roary called. Fredrick pushed himself back up and then sped up to Roary to Use Fire Fang. As Fredrick landed the move he felt a spark of triumph until he got slashed in the face. Feeling shocked Fredrick let go and stumbled backwards letting out a shocked yell. "OWCH! What was for?" He snapped angrily at the Persian. "Are you trying to take my eye out?" Roary shook his head. "No, I wasn't but when the real battle hits there will be plenty of others who will go for the eye so do keep that in mind." He replied. Fredrick pinned his ears back now feeling annoyed. "I know that! but you don't have to!" Roary frowned. "I was nowhere near your eye, look I won't do it again but you need to take this seriously!" Fredrick got mad and used Flamethrower but Roary dodged it. "That's another thing! When you fight it's important to not fight out of anger, you need to have skill." Fredrick bit his lower lip with his teeth. "I had enough! I need a break it's lesson after lesson with you!" He snapped then Roary padded up to him a placed a paw on his shoulder. "I'm only trying to help you prepare for it properly. Look I'm sorry but your training will not be easy. We got to make sure you're pretty skilled before the war." Fredrick growled. "What! You're saying I have to train twice as hard?" Roary nodded. "Yes! Fredrick I'm only trying to save you! When you step into that war I hope you realize everyone is mostly gonna aim for you because they all follow Denny and don't like you! And of course, as you know he's on your trail right now." Fredrick muttered. "Yeah, please don't remind me." Roary just held his gaze. "I think we should try again." Fredrick turned away. "I think I had enough for today." Then he froze as his ears pricked upright as he heard the sound of pushing paws steps coming towords them. A jolt of alarm sparked through him. "Oh, no! It's Denny he's found us!!" He yelled. " Quick Everyone hide!" He ordered and they all hurried away scrambling into their hiding places. Fredrick quickly took cover hiding in his den. His mind was racing. 'How did he find us? Arceus it's not fair! I'm not ready to die! Not yet I didn't even get an army yet! His heart felt like it was in his throat as he waited silently in his den. It was quiet until he heard twigs snapping and the rustling of the undergrowth as strangers had now entered their camp. Fredrick closed his eyes. 'Arceus please let I will be wrong... don't let it be him. He silently pleaded. Unable to take the suspense anymore, he slowly got up and peered outside. And to Fredrick's relief, it wasn't his crazy brother. He let out a sigh of relief seeing it was those Electrikes instead. Storm was in the lead as he stood in the center of their camp. They were all sniffing around. "I could have sworn I heard Mons here, keep looking!" he ordered and they all ran around peeking into places and sniffing around Fredrick stayed as silent as possible then one Electrike head popped into his den and glared at him. Fredrick gave a sheepish smile. "Oh, ahh hi there." He said now feeling awkward. The Electrike frowned at him. "Get out at once!" He snarled. "Ok, ok keep your fur on!" He said as he slowly padded out into the open as did everyone else. Storm glared at them and growled. "Well, well I do believe we have met before, I thought I made it clear that you guys were to leave my forest?" They were all quiet then Jennifer said something. "But... That was a long way away from here that you said that. How big is your Territory? The whole planet?" She criticized. Storm looked very angry as he showed his teeth. "I just said the whole forest! The lost woods are mine!" Fredrick frowned. "But we're kind of desperate and we need to stay here. Can't we just
work something out?" He asked then the Manectric shook his head. "I will not share my land or pray! You have until nightfall to beat it!" Then Roary jumped down from his branch. "Now just hold on a minute! I don't get it! Why do you need a whole forest to yourself? Do you know how big this forest is?!" He asked sounding outraged. Storm once again just shook his head.
"Because what I say goes!" Then as he turned to leave Jennifer stood in his path. "What if we can battle our right to stay?" She challenged. He showed his teeth. "Nu-uh! I said no, and that answer is not about to change!" Then he and his pack took off. Fredrick felt frustrated. "Great more problems just what we need!" Roary
growled. "Well, we're not leaving Jennifer is right! If they want us to leave then they're gonna have to make us!" Fredrick felt surprised. "But it's a whole pack!" Lupin laughed. "Yeah, of Electrike's that's weak I think we can beat them." Roary nodded "I think we should work out a battle strategy for when they do come because this place is too good to give up. and they're not being hunted down by Denny's followers like we are."
