Chapter 52 A Bad Idea

Fredrick's P.O.V.

Fredrick was battle practising with Roary. He paused feeling tired and to his surprise, Roary nodded with approval. "Your getting stronger Fredrick I'm impressed." Fredrick felt a spark of pride as he dipped his head to Roary. "Well, thanks for the help. I think I'm gonna call it a day with training." He said then strode off through the camp. Nathan the little Eevee ran up to him looking excited. "Hey Fredrick!" Fredrick glanced at him. "Yes?" Nathan puffed out his chest looking proud. "I'm now old enough to evolve will you help me?" Fredrick nodded. "Sure thing! What do you want to be?" He smiled "A Jolteon."Fredrick couldn't help but feel relieved. He had fears that the shiny Eevee would be the same Umbreon he saw in his vision he nodded. "Then you need to find a thunderstone, I'll help you look if I find one I'll bring it to you right away." The shiny Eevee got happy "Great! Thanks, Fredrick!" Then he ran off and Lupin padded up
to Fredrick. "Hey, Fredrick come with me. I want to show you something." Feeling puzzled he followed Lupin out of camp as they began heading deeper through the forest within their territory. "So, What is it you found?" Fredrick asked and Lupin gave him a mischievous smile. "Oh, hehe let's just say I know where Voltaire is hiding out." Fredrick started to tense up. "Umm, why would we go to his camp again?" Lupin met Fredricks's gaze calmly. "Well, I was thinking maybe we can do something about him first." They reached the end of their Territory and just at the beginning of the new border, Fredrick spotted a lot of Pokemon together. He took cover ducking down in the tall grass and staying low he looked at Lupin. "Ok, so what's the plan here?" He asked getting in on the idea. 'It's bad enough Denny is on our trial we don't need this guy next. Lupin smiled. "I know it looks hard but it's easy all we need to do is kill Voltaire and the whole thing will be over." Fredrick nodded but then he grew an even bigger idea. "Wait." Lupin gave him a puzzled look. "Yeah?" He asked and Fredrick said his plan. "We are preparing for a war with Denny, well what if we don't have to? I mean Voltaire will do anything for power and Denny is a water type he would be tasting his own medicine. If Voltaire could kill him then those troubles would all be over." Lupin nodded "But then what about Voltaire? Wouldn't he become an even bigger problem?" Fredrick shook his head. "Nothing that we can't handle we'll take Denny out first. Once Voltaire takes my brother out all we have to do is kill him and then we can all have peace. And I can happily live my life normally." Lupin barked with delight. "Fredrick that's a brilliant idea! Smart thinking." Fredrick nodded. "But that means we need to seek out my brother without him catching us, Or seeing us then somehow find a way to lure Voltaire over his way." Lupin got to his paws. "Well, let's explore a bit more then. We can't tell anyone our plan through. Roary would be furious with us if he found out." Fredrick nodded in agreement and they both ventured off into unknown Territory.

By the time the two of them got back to camp, it was late and Roary ran up to meet them. "Where were you two? It's a bit suspicious returning to camp at this hour." Fredrick felt a stab of guilt he hated lying but he couldn't tell Roary what they were up to. "Oh, Lupin and I just wanted to train together and get more prepared for the war." Roary didn't look very convinced he dismissed with a wave of his tail. "Oh, well, good night then." Fredrick padded over to his den feeling sleepy but then Lupin poked him with his paw. "Hey, with everyone asleep now would be a better time to look." Fredrick looked down at his paws. "Is it possible to find them tonight Even? What if my brother is too far?" He asked and Lupin winked. "Ah, don't worry we'll be back before morning even if we don't find him there might be clues and it's always better knowing where your enemy is." Fredrick then decided it would be worth a shot and followed Lupin out of camp but going in the opposite direction as before. Fredrick felt annoyed not being able to see where he was putting his paws because of how dark it was while Lupin had no problem walking at all. After walking for a while Fredrick started to pick up a lot of sents and his heart rate quickened as a camp full of Pokemon sleeping came into view.
He felt shocked at how close they were getting to their camp and Lupin had the same look on his face he whispered: "Do you think these Pokemon are part of Denny's group?" He asked and Fredrick didn't want to get too close just in case but then to his dismay, he stepped on a twig causing it to crack then a voice called out. "Who goes there?!" Fredrick froze as his fur stiffened in fear.  'That was Zeta's voice. Then a Zoroark came walking towards them with a mean glare. Fredrick and Lupin both started running as the Zoroark chased them. "STOP RIGHT THERE!" Fredrick then tripped over a tree root and felt panic as he tried to scramble back to his paws. Lupin stopped and looked back. "Hurry! Hurry!" He was yelping in panic and just as Fredrick got up Zeta jumped at him slashing his long claws out at him just missing Fredrick's face. Lupin ran to Fredrick's side and used howle. Zeta laughed "Ahahaha how very nice for you to come! Now let me finish you!" He used a Shadow ball but Fredrick avoided it and used an iron tail on him then he used a flamethrower. Zeta grew a wide grin "Hehe you've been practicing. But you will not beat me I have tricks up my sleeve!" Fredrick felt a bit puzzled as Lupin used to bite and then push him away. "Run! Let's get outta here!" He yelled and Fredrick made a run for it only for Lupin to run a different way feeling Panic Fredrick pushed himself to keep running.
'Why is he going that way? Home is this way! He thought then he heard paw steps catching up from behind him and he felt panicky but then when he glanced over his shoulder it was Lupin. "Fredrick wait up!" Fredrick stopped and waited for him but couldn't hold feeling confused.
'He was just ahead of me not long ago.. How did he end up behind me? He shrugged it off and followed him then once they were sure they lost
Zeta Fredrick stopped to try and catch his breath as he was tired from the run. He was breathing hard. "Hah, hah, that was close." Then Lupin started laughing. "Ahahah got you!" Fredrick felt confused by that remark. "Umm, What do you mean? Lupin are you ok?" Then suddenly the forest around Fredrick changed and he was sitting right in the center of the clearing surrounded by a lot of Pokemon. Lupin turned into a Zoroark and Fredrick had no idea what had just happened he looked around. "I don't get it! How is that even possible? Where is Lupin?" Zeta narrowed his eyes. "He got away but that doesn't matter I'm still gonna get him!" He transformed into a shiny Flareon and bolted back into the forest and Fredrick felt that he was losing his mind after. 'Am I dreaming?... mabey?Fredrick tensed under the pressure of so many Pokemon glared at him and then Jessie padded towards him. "Tea hehe oh now what do we have here?" Fredrick growled in frustration then Denny casually walked over to sit beside her.
Fredrick froze meeting his brother's purple gaze he seemed to be calm compared to the last time they saw each other. "Fredrick come with me we need to talk." Fredrick felt a spark of hope. 
'He never wants to talk to me... Maybe we can finally discuss the past together so he can understand why I stayed with Darle.
Fredrick followed the Vaporen. Two Houndooms were walking close by as if making sure he didn't try anything. Then they came up to a burrow and crawled inside. Fredrick glared at Jessie as she followed them in as well. "Hold on what is she doing here? I thought we were going to talk?" Then Denny hissed. "And we will, now I need to know why you were spying on me?" Fredrick froze not knowing what to say. "Oh, I wasn't spying." Jessie rolled her eyes. "Then why did Zeta catch you just at the edge of our camp? I think your hiding something hmm? Don't you think Denny?" She glanced at him and Fredrick wanted to sink his claws into her throat after. Denny gave him a cold look. "Ok, so here's what's going to happen. You're going to sleep here tonight and tomorrow if you know what's best you'll lead us to your camp!" Fredrick felt a surge of panic. He shook his head and growled. "NEVER!" Denny was getting ready for hydro pump but Jessie placed her paw on him stopping him. "Don't waste your energy on him. I'm sure tomorrow we can make him a bit more cooperating." Denny then nodded. "Ok, your right." Then they both left leaving Fredrick alone.
'So much for a Discussion...'
He frowned feeling his heart quickening. 'I can't stay here! And what about Lupin? Did he get away? He paced back and forth then peeked outside to see Zeta standing on guard making sure he couldn't get away. Fredrick gave a sigh of defeat and decided to get some sleep at least before morning came. 'I'll figure out something tomorrow. Wait! Thats it! I'll just lead Denny to Voltaire and when the battle hits I can run off to freedom.
