Chapter 44 An Unwanted Mission

Kyle,s P. O.V.

Kyle and Kevin were both walking through a forest it had been two days since they found Shawn's body in the river with the help of a Vaporeon named Mark, who had helped them bury Shawn. 'That was nice of him.' But he and Kevin had decided to push on in case they did find Fredrick. Kevin let out a sigh. "So now what? Are we still gonna try to find Fredrick?" He asked. "I have a feeling he's dead." Kevin tilted his head. "But if he's dead then who are the Lycanrocs looking for?" He asked then Kyle lifted his head and felt a spark of hope realizing the Arcanine had a point. "You're right, I think we should follow them and see, if they are looking for him then they'll lead us right to him!" Kevin smiled. "Good idea! They couldn't have gone too far let's go look." Kyle and Kevin carried on walking until Kyle picked up a sent. 'Laycanrock Sent!' "Kevin I found a trail they went this way!" Then he paused when he heard a familiar voice. "Get down!" They both hid right away. Kevin looked puzzled. "What is it?" He asked "Shhh!" Klye glared at him then the voices got louder. "Come on it's this way let's hurry so we can get to Moltres today!" Kyle recognized that to be Zeta's voice. 'Oh shit we found Denny!' then a Zoroark walked out followed by a Jolteon who was looking down as if he didn't want to be there.
Denny and Jessie were walking close together lost in conversation. 'Hmm, Charlie doesn't look very happy maybe he should come with us.' Then to Kyle's shock they stopped. "I think we should take a break and hunt." Denny said Kyle's tail drooped and he shared a nervous glance with Kevin. "Oh, no.." He whispered, "Ok, so we'll go catch something and meet back here." Jessie said and they all spilt up after padding in different directions. Kyle and Kevin jumped out of their hiding spots. "We need to get out of here!" Kevin was panicking Kyle didn't know which way was safe. "Don't panic we need to stay calm, Let's try going this way and hopefully have no problems." Then they both took off trying to move fast before someone spotted them. 'It's me who would give us away because I'm a shiny! Then they ran right into a Jolteon. "Hey, you scared away my prey!" He hissed and his fur was up in spikes then he looked shocked. "K...Kevin? I thought you were dead!" Then he glared at Kyle. "And you! I also remember aren't you also supposed to be dead?" He asked then Kevin shot him a glare and snarled at him. "Well, we survived!" His fur bristled. "Come on Kyle we can take him on!" But Kyle didn't move. "Charlie, are you sure this is what you want?" He asked and the Jolteon looked shocked by the question. "Of course, it is I'm loyal to Denny!" Kyle frowned "We were watching you... it doesn't seem like you're really up to his plans." Kevin gave Kyle a puzzled look then turned his gaze to Charlie. "You know he's right." Then he turned his gaze back to Kyle. "But what you should also know is that this guy is a low life. Now I see why Shawn hated him!" He glared at Charlie. "How could you just stand by and let Denny kill Shawn?!" Charlie had a sad look in his eyes. "Shawn." he grew a guilty look on his face after hearing his name. "There was nothing I could have done he's the one who betrayed us." Kevin growled. "Are you serious! Denny is the tractor not Shawn! He had his heart in the right place and Denny killed him?" Charlie was quiet after he looked down at his paws. "What do you want from me?" He asked and Kyle felt a bit of pity for him. "Charlie come with us, you are better than this you may have messed up once, but you can become a better Mon it's never too late to do the right thing." The Jolteon looked up his eyes narrowed. "But it is too late, I can't betray Denny now." Kevin's lip curled and his fangs were showing. "Why? because your a cowered? What are you scared of? you're an electric type surely you have the upper paw!" He spat and Kyle snapped at him. "That's enough Kevin! Do you want someone to hear us?" Kevin dropped his head. "Sorry.." he muttered. Charlie growled, "You should go before someone comes looking for me." He said and Kevin got to his paws. "Come on Kyle let's go." but Kyle didn't move. "No Charlie come with us, please! I know you're not a bad Mon. I can feel it, you do care about Fredrick don't you?" Charlie met his gaze. "I don't care for him... I just felt sorry for him, I had to help him." Kevin looked more confused. "You mean Fredrick is alive?" Charlie nodded. "I saved him once." Kevin tilted his head. "Hu? Then who's side are you on?" He asked but Charlie didn't meet his gaze. "Just go please before it's too late!" He snapped Kyle forward. "No Charlie we're not leaving without you, you'll get yourself killed if you continue to stick with Denny!" Charlie turns away. "I'm not going with you!" He hissed then ran off. "Charlie, wait!" Kyle tried to run after him but Kevin stopped him. "Let him go! Are you crazy? If we follow him we'll only get caught now let's go while we can." He said. Kyle wanted to argue but didn't see the point. 'He's right it's Charlie's decision after all and we'll only end up getting ourselves killed if we follow him.' Kyle followed Kevin but then just as they started padding away a Zoroark walked out from behind a tree. "Busted!" He yelled. Kyle froze in shock. "H... How long were you standing there?" He asked. Zeta had a grin on his face. "Oh long enough to know there's a shiny Sneaking around!" He started clapping his paws. "Oh, bravo that's all I needed to know!" Kevin looked a bit hurt. "Zeta, what happened? I thought I was like a brother to you. Did you even care when Denny tried to kill me?" Zeta just shrugged his shoulders. "Big deal! Pokemon die everyday and life goes on." Kevin let out a shocked gasp. "But I was always there for you! I did everything for you!" Zeta let out a laugh. "Haha, You're one of the stupid ones! Always so naive, weak and useless like Shawn was! My true friend is strong and powerful and he's smart. I don't need weak useless Mons like you around!" Kevin's jaw fell open and Kyle felt a wave of symphony for him. 'Poor Kevin... it must hurt when someone you grew up with turns on you just like that, and after all the time they must have spent together.' Kevin's fur stood on end and he grew a furious look on his face and used a flamethrower and hit Zeta. "I am not weak!" He shouted and Kyle felt panicked.
'We're making too much noise Denny will be here soon!' Zeta got back up. "Is that all you got? It's time to teach you a hard lesson!" Kevin growled looking angry and hurt. 'He's getting too emotional! he doesn't realize the danger we're in!' Kyle jumped in front of him. "Kevin we don't have time for this!" Kevin ignored him. "You're a traitor Zeta! I'm gonna make you pay!" Zeta laughed. "Haha, You think I'm the traitor? why do you think Denny tried to kill you? you're the real traitor here, wow how stupid are you?" Kyle didn't know what to do. 'I guess I have no choice but to help Kevin.' Zeta used a shadow ball and Kevin yelled loudly. "RAAAA HOW DARE YOU!" Zeta glared at him. "Excuse me? How dare I? Your the one who attacked me! How dare you!" Kyle used rock smash on the Zoroark and he gave a loud screech. He jumped to his paws his eyes turned to slits as he glared at Kyle his gaze was cool. "You're a shiny, it is so that I shall kill you!" He ran at Kyle and used a night slash Kyle tried to avoid it but got hit he growled and used a rock throw to push Zeta away then Kevin pinned him down and his claws slid out. "You're evil!" He growled but that only seemed to make the Zoroark amused. "Oh, hehe thank you! I try." Kyle ran up. "Hurry finish him off!" Too late Zeta caught Kevin off guard and used a shadow ball Kevin snarled then Zeta transformed into a shiny Laycanroc and ran up to Kyle and shuffled around with him Kyle growled. "That trick won't work!" He hit him then he turned back to normal. Kyle paused as  heard paw steps coming. 'Oh Arceus!' Jessie and Denny both emerged from the undergrowth. "What is going on here!" The Vaporeon demanded as he looked around the clearing his gaze burning with rage. Jessie tensed as she looked at Kyle then Denny gave her a puzzled look. "What do you know him?" Then he looked at the shiny laycanrock. "Wait, now I recognize you, you were with Fredrick before. I sent you away to be killed what happened?" He asked. Kyle was frozen with fear and shock 'Should I answer that? I guess it can't do me any harm anyways he knows I'm alive now.'
Kyle frowned. "Well, I fell into that bottomless gorge." Then Kevin shot a glare at Denny. "Yeah you know when you pushed me over? Well, I survived, and then I found Kyle later." Denny rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I figured that out when I fell down there myself, I'm not stupid!" Kevin frowned. "So you killed Shawn?" Jessie smiled "You already know that answer now you're just playing stupid." Kyle frowned as he met Denny's gaze trying to read it. 'What's he thinking? Is he gonna kill us?' The Vaporeon exchanged a look with Jessie. "Hmmm, what do you think Jessie?" She gave him a look. "What do you mean? we are going to kill them right?" Kyle flattens his ears. 'I'm not going down without a fight I think there's a way out of this!'
Charlie ran out of the bushes with prey in his mouth. "Hey, I thought we were supposed to meet-" he stopped when he realized the situation "Oh!" Panic lit Jolteon's gaze. Denny's gaze was cool. "Charlie what took you so long?" He asked Charlie stumbled. "Oh, um you know... I was hunting hehe." Kyle sighed "So what are you going to do with us?" He asked then Denny snapped his gaze back at them. "You're a shiny I'm gonna kill you of course after I'm done using you." Kevin shot a glare. "What are you getting at?" He asked and Zeta walked up with a huge grin on his face. "You're gonna help us of course!" He turned to look at Denny. "Isn't that right?" He nodded and Kevin bristled. "Now just hold on what makes you think we're gonna help?" Denny tilted his head. "Oh, is that a challenge? because I can take you both on if it's a death wish you're looking for." He got into a battle stance looking ready to attack at any moment. Kyle frowned 'Great I'm a rock type weak against water... and so is Kevin.'
Kyle narrowed his eyes and then turned his gaze to Charlie 'But if he helped us it would be a three-on-three battle and we could beat Denny!' Kyle used a rock smash, shock lit the Vapreon's purple gaze as he was hit with it. Kevin gave a shocked yell. "What are you doing!" Kyle got ready for another attack. "Fighting what does it look like?" Zeta and Charlie didn't move they both looked shocked, then Denny jumped back to his paws and glared at Kyle. "YOU FOOL!" He spat his gaze was cool. "You're outnumbered what makes you think you stand a chance?" Kevin stepped back. "Hey, I hate to say it Kyle but you know he's kind of right." Denny growled, "Of course I'm right!" He snapped Zeta was giggling. "This is funny!" Jessie looked at Kyle. "Denny can beat you without us backing him up silly Kyle." She said with a mockery in her voice. Kyle's claws unsheathed. "I am fighting for my life! After I'm done helping you you're just gonna kill me anyway!" Denny took a threatening step toward Kyle with claws unsheathed. "Your right why keep you waiting? I can just end you right here right now. Unless you change your mind I could use a rock type, rock does beat flying after all." Kyle turned to look at Charlie and gave the Jolteon a pleading look but the Jolteon didn't meet his gaze instead he looked the other way as if trying to avoid his gaze. 'Look at me! I might die if you don't do something!' Kyle thought feeling desperate. "So what's it gonna be?" Denny pressed and Kyle snapped his attention back to the Vaporeon. 'I don't want to help him... I must fight!'
Kyle growled,  "I'm not gonna do it!" He used a rock throw but this time Denny dodged it and then used water plus Kyle flinched but then Kevin jumped in front of him and took the hit. "If your gonna fight then I'm with you!" Denny growled. "Fine! no one likes you anyway Kevin!" Kevin grunted as Denny used a hydro pump and then slamming the Arcanine to the ground. The Vaporeon flickered his tail Signaling for everyone to fight. Everyone broke out fighting, and Zeta ran up and clawed at Kevin right away Kyle felt hopeless. 'This is useless!' He stared in shock as everyone gained up on Kevin then he collapsed to the ground the Aecanine fainted 'There's nothing I can do for him now.' Kyle got scared and started running but it was no use everyone caught up to him then Jessie grabbed him with her feelers. "Hehe, not so fast Kyle!" She smirked at him "Now did you think you were gonna get away? What a shame to abandon Kevin like that." Kyle felt panicked as the others surrounded him.
"No! Don't!" He yelped 'Oh Arceus is this how I'm gonna die? I thought I would live so much longer' then Denny walked up to him his eyes were filled with hate as he glared at the shiny Laycanroc. Kyle yelled. "No! Don't kill me!" He howled out as everyone pinned him down Denny ignored him. "Ok, everyone let's give it to him all at once." Kyle howled. "Charlie help me! Don't let him do it please!" Charlie wouldn't even look at him.
Kyle tried to bite Jessie's feelers but she warped them around his muzzle clamping his jaws shut so he couldn't. Denny turns to face Charlie. "Why is he asking for your help?" He asked. Charlie shrugged. "It doesn't matter he's not gonna get it, now let's just get this over with." Denny glared at the Jolteon. "Well good." Kyle tried moving but was pinned down then he got hit with all the different moves until he couldn't take it anymore and fainted.
