Chapter 62 Change In Time

Anthony's P.O.V

Fredrick was battling with Roary while Anthony watched with wide glowing eyes. Roary used Thunder but Fredrick dodged it and then got him with a fire blast.
Anthony waged his tail with excitement as Fredrick pinned the cat-like Pokemon down and used a flamethrower.
Roary was strong and skilled. He was not easy to beat. Anthony felt a wave of pride as Roary dipped his head to the shiny Flareon. "Great job Fredrick you've improved a lot since we first met. I'm proud of you. You'll make a great leader when the time comes." Anthony admired Fredrick very much.
One day I'm going to be just like him! I want to beat him in a match I'll have to train hard!
Jennifer walked over to him and they both shared a kiss. Anthony looked away feeling a bit annoyed
Do they have to do that all the time?
Then Fredrick approached him. "Come on kid let's go out for a bit and see the forest perhaps I could teach you to hunt." Anthony got excited. "Yeah!" Jennifer purred. "Ok, but do be careful and stay well clear from Denny's camp." Fredrick nodded "Ah, don't worry he's long gone back to the ice mountains by now, I'm sure we'll be fine." She rolled her eyes. "There are still lots of Pokemon around that think shiny is evil." Anthony frowned "Seriously? How can others think that? just because one Mon thinks that?" Frederick sighed. "Denny is good at convincing others to follow him. But enough talk of that we'll worry about it more when we're ready to face him." Anthony nodded. "Ok."

One year later

Fredrick's P.O.V.

Fredrick was sitting in the camp watching as Pokemon were training and levelling up for the war to come.
Good, if we keep this up we'll be able to fight Denny in no time.
In the last year since they found this place for the Shinies. They haven't had any trouble from Denny or any other Pokemon. Luckily for them, they were able to convince more Pokemon to join them in fighting Denny.
Fredrick smiled as Jennifer walked over to sit with him. "Soon we'll have an army as big as Denny's if we can keep this up. I'm proud of you Fredrick I just know we're going to win this war." Fredrick felt proud hearing that from his mate he gave her a kiss. "Well I'm gonna go find Lupin so we can train together. I'll catch you later ok love." She nodded then padded off walking by a tree where Roary sat on his branch watching everyone. "Where is Anthony?" His sudden question took Fredrick by surprise.
Anthony was now old enough to participate in the battle training and had found himself his own place to sleep leaving Fredrick and Jennifer alone together in their den. But the shiny Eevee would often venture off on his own or always seem to be in his little world.
Fredrick shrugged. "I don't know." Roary looked frustrated. "Have you talked to him this morning at all? about training?" Fredrick felt embarrassed. "He was gone already when I got up. I thought maybe he would have been with you." He shook his head looking annoyed. "You should pay more attention. Do you even have any clue where he goes when he goes?" Fredrick glared at him. "That doesn't make me a bad father he takes after me, I used to do the same thing when I was his age." Roary grunted then Fredrick sighed. "Ok, I'll go see if I can find him." Then he paused as the shiny Eevee already strolled back into camp and Roary called him. "And where have you been?" He demanded Anthony just rolled his eyes. "Why does it matter?" Roary hissed "Excuse me but you're still an Eevee and mind you in case you haven't realized yet everyone is training for war or hunting you could at least do some hunting!" Anthony pinned his ears back shooting Roary with a glare.
"Who died and put you in charge? I thought this was Fredrick's war?" Fredrick saw how angry the Persian looked, but before Roary could open his mouth to speak Fredrick cut in. "Why don't you join me and Lupin? We were just about to do some battle training." Another frowned. "Ugg. I guess." Fredrick tilted his head feeling puzzled. "What's wrong? I thought you liked learning new moves and getting stronger." He sat with a pout. "I do, but do we have to do it all the time? Every day it's always the same thing aren't we strong enough to defeat Denny already?" Fredrick shook his head. "We're far from ready for this war. You do realize Pokemon die in war." Anthony looked worried. "Yes..." he glanced at Fredrick. "But you're a strong Flareon I have faith we'll be ok, and when I meet Denny I'm gonna make that stupid Vaporeon wish he'd never been born!" Fredrick let out a chuckle of amusement "Well if you want to get as strong as him better start now." Anthony flexed his claws and then nodded "Oh, I'm going to evolve tonight I decided what I want to be!" Fredrick felt a bit surprised he hadn't realized how fast he'd grown.
He's old enough to evolve, where did the time go?
He nodded "That's it.. great." Anthony tilted his head with a puzzled look on his face.  "Aren't you gonna ask me what I'm going to be? I thought you'd be proud of me." Fredrick shook his head trying to clear it. "I am... so what are you gonna be?"
Please don't say Vaporeon, please.
Anthony smiled. "Well, I kinda like the dark so I think I want to be an Umbreon." Fredrick felt relieved. "That's great.." Anthony followed Fredrick and then Lupin took him by surprise knocking him down. "Don't forget to never let your ground down!" Fredrick was too startled to move when all of a sudden Anthony took on the Mightyena and used bite. "I want to battle you I'm ready to win this time!" Lupin looked a bit surprised "All right then." Fredrick sat back and decided to watch.
I pretty much know all I need to about battling, perhaps we are ready to face Denny.
Lupin charged at the shiny Eevee but Anthony was fast and avoided the Mightyena and used tackle then he took him by surprise and used an Iran tail Fredrick was surprised as he pinned Lupin down he let out a laugh. "Haha hey, kid you're good you've gotten pretty strong." He got up and then looked at Fredrick. "After I evolve I want to challenge you next. I know I'm ready to beat you in a fight." Fredrick felt proud. "Of course I look forward to it." Then the shiny Eevee ran off.
Lupin nudged Fredrick playfully. "Come on let's go out into the forest it's been a while since we wandered from our hiding spot." Fredrick nodded and followed the Mightyena out of camp.
