Chapter 30 The Search

Denny's P.O.V.

Denny woke up the next day letting out a tired yawn and stretching out his body as he got up. He headed over towords Diablo wanting to check up on him. The Houndoon raised his head at Denny's approach. "Ah, good morning Denny did you sleep well?" He asked. Denny frowned it hadn't been a very good sleep for him. "Eh, I suppose I slept ok.." He muttered. "How is Fredrick doing? Any trouble at all?" The Houndoom just cracked a smile. "Hehe, I'm pretty sure he died in there. He's been quiet all night. I checked on him a few times. He's just lying on the ground like a dead piece of prey." Denny was quiet for a moment. 'Good he gave up just what I need. "Well, at least he's not trying anything." He said as he padded away towords Zeta. He pokes the Zoroark in the side. "Zeta, rise and shine it's morning." The Zoroark grunted and then got up. "Zeta I need you to get everyone ready so we can leave soon. I want to make sure everyone is up before we wake Fredrick. Just in case he dose try to make a break for it." The Zoroark nodded his head. "Will do!" He ran out and started yelling. "COME GUYS!! WAKY, WAKY!" Denny sat down and waited as everyone was getting up. He noticed Charlie looked nervous about something. "Everything alright Charlie?" He asked. The question seemed to have started the Jolteon as he jumped in surprise. "Hu what?!" Then he gave a sheepish smile. "Oh, uhh yeah everythings fine. Hehe nothing wrong with me." Denny raised a brow thinking that was odd behaviour for the Jolteon but then just brushed the thought away. He couldn't help but feel a little important. 'The sooner we get home the sooner I can deal with Fredrick! He felt his claws slide out at the thought. 'I know you're up to something Fredrick and you're going to tell me! He thought bitterly for a few seconds until a voice broke his thoughts as Diablo started yelling. "I said come out!" He shouted. Denny looked and saw that everyone was ready and they were just waiting for Fredrick to come out. 'Gah! The no-good lazy furball! He thought with annoyance as he ran over to the hollow. "FREDRICK!" He shouted. "We're all waiting on you! Get out here now!" The only response he got was silence. "I'm not playing around Fredrick! Don't make me come in there!" ....still no sound. Denny growled. "Last chance! Get out here now!"
*Nothing*
"THAT'S IT! I'M DONE WAITING!" He shouted angrily as he ran in then froze the hollow was completely empty. 'NO! How did he escape? Denny sniffed around then spotted a hole near the back of the den with a few tufts of yellow fur left behind on the rocks. Denny's eye twitched a little. 'No! I just caught him! He gritted his teeth letting out a small growl. "Wherever you are Fredrick you're not gonna get far.." He stormed back outside. "Diablo!" He shouted and the Houndoon looked nervous. "Ahh. Is everything alright?"
"NO, EVERYTHING IS NOT ALRIGHT FREDRICK IS GONE!!" Everyone gasped in shock and he noticed Charlie looked worried as his ears were down along the sides of his head. The Jolteon stepped forword. "Hey, Denny maybe just calm down a bit would you? It can't be that big of a deal can it?" That did it Denny couldn't control his temper. He struck a paw across the Jolteon's face with his claws unsheathed. Denny's eyes widened with surprise as some blood splattered the earth. Charlie let out a shocked cry then lifted his head to look at Denny. The Vaporeon froze as there were three claw marks on the Jolteon's face. "Y..you struck." He shuddered out. Denny narrowed his eyes. "Then shut up next time!" He spat. Charlie backed away with a hurt expression on his face. Denny looked at all the others. "Diablo get over here!" The Houndoom slowly stepped forword with fear flashing in his eyes, Denny growled. "You were supposed to be watching Fredrick how could you let him escape? this is your fault!"
The Houndoom looked down at his paws. "I'm sorry I was so sure he was in there the whole time." Denny snarled "Yeah, all you did was sit near the entrance when you're on guard duty you're supposed to check in on him from time to time you idiot!" Denny stood up and began walking towords him with a growl rumbling in his throat. "Now I'm gonna make you pay!" The Houndoom flinched away. "I'm sorry please don't hurt me," He pleaded. Denny hesitated in front of him for a moment. 'No! He does have this coming! He coasts me my revenge!
"I want everyone to see this!" He said casting a look at his followers. "This is what happens when you make mistakes!" He unsheathed his claws and struck the Houndoom in the face and then used a hydro pump. The Houndoom gave a shocked yell as Denny used another hydro pump on him. Charlie suddenly yelled. "Denny stop! You're not gonna kill him are you?" Diablo was watching Denny as if waiting for a response.
The Vaporeon growled. "Well, I was thinking about it, He just cost me my chance to kill Fredrick!" Jessie slowly emerged from the group to go sit beside Denny. "I think he deserves to die as well. You worked hard just to catch your brother and now he's gone." Charlie glared at her and then had a fearful look in his eyes. "Denny, Diablo has always been loyal to you, don't kill him."
"ALRIGHT FINE!" Denny snapped. And Diablo looked relieved. "Thank you, Denny, I promise I won't let you down a second time." Denny had a cool look on his face. "Yeah, You're gonna prove that to me right now! I'll give you until midnight to fix up your mess." The Houndoom looked puzzled. "Ah, what?" Denny rolled his eyes. "I'm saying you need to go fetch Fredrick before midnight or you'll suffer the consequences!"
His mouth open in shock. "What?! b-but that's impossible!" Denny turned away from the shocked Houndoom and started licking his front paw. "Well, then you'd better start looking now, time is short and your life really depends on it."
'Maybe that'll show em not to fuck up next time!
He thought as he glanced around at more of his followers who all looked Uncomfortable seeing the position Diablo got put in. 'No one gets in the way of me killing Fredrick. Then with an evil smirk on his face, he walked away. Charlie ran up behind him. "Denny!" He sounded upset. He paused. "What?" Charlie frowned at him. "Really? Is that necessary? He asked and Denny shot him with a glare. "Charlie, you are getting on my nerves! I think it is necessary! Catching Fredrick is kind of a big deal for me and I'm not about to let it go!" He snapped. "You know you should never question your leader." They both looked as Jessie approached them. Charlie looked frustrated that she had pointed that out.
Denny growled, "You know she's right from now on no one questions me!" Denny went to climb on a tall rock so everyone could see him. "I want that shiny Flareon found! Is that clear?" He said and everyone in his group nodded and then headed away. "If anyone finds him bring him back to me!" Denny said. Zeta approached them. "You want me and Charlie to go with you again like usual?" Denny nodded his head and then turned to look at Jessie. "I want you to come with me also." He said. "Seems how you're with us already." He added and noticed her face turned red in a blush. Charlie seemed to have noticed it too as his purple gaze lit with Excitement. He leaned close to Denny and whispered in his ear.
"I think she likes you." Denny couldn't help but feel awkward and slightly embarrassed. He hissed in a low voice. "Shut up Charlie!" But this just seemed to make the Jolteon smile. "Hehe, this is interesting you like her too don't you?" He teased and Denny's face was now glowing in a blush. "No, I don't!" He snapped. Then he padded away with them all following. He went for the hollow wanting to track from there. "Allow me," Zeta said as he sniffed at some of Frederick's hair. "Hmm, I'd say he went this way!" The Zoroark mused and led the way as they followed after him into the forest. Jessie was walking beside Denny. "Don't worry." She said. "I don't think he could have gone far, I think we'll find him in no time." She said with reassurance in her voice. Denny let out a sigh. "Ah, I sure hope so." He replied then noticed Charlie was watching them with amusement glowing in his eyes. Denny gritted his teeth feeling annoyed the Jolteon.
