Chapter 40 Finding A Home

Fredrick's P.O.V

Roary was leading the way while the others were trying to keep up. "Come on this way! I know a shortcut to get out of these ice mountains." He said. Fredrick was walking beside Lupin and Jennifer who was carrying Nathen by the scruff. Thunder was a bit behind. Fredrick felt relieved to finally be getting out of the ice mountains. 'Once we're out we'll have one less problem to worry about.
Then another stressful thought hit him. 'Denny will come after me.. and then the others will be in danger because of me. Fredrick felt like he didn't know what to do. Should I leave? But if I do How will I face Denny alone? Lupin broke his thoughts. "Hey, Fredrick are you all right?" He nodded his head and Lupin didn't look very convinced. "Are Are you sure? you look like something is bothering you." Fredrick let out a sigh "OK, maybe I'm just a little stressed out." Jennifer tapped him on the shoulder with her paw. "Hey, Fredrick sorry for cutting in but I'm just wondering, when we get out of the ice mountains, what's the plan?" She asked. Fredrick looked at her. "Well, I was thinking maybe we should find a safe place to hide out. A place that would be difficult for Denny to find us." Roary responded, "Well, I think I might know just the place. But first, let's focus on getting outta here." They all walked on in silence after.

by the time they got out of the ice mountains it was nightfall Fredrick sighed. "We made it we're back in the forest." Roary continued leading the way. "Come on! I think I know a safe place where that Vaporeon won't bother us for a while." Fredrick sighed. "I hope you're right." Jennifer was walking right beside him and Lupin was on the other side of him. "So, Umm, what about Nathan? Should we try to find his family?" Jennifer asked Then the little shiny Eevee shook his head. "I don't have a family..." She gasped in shock. "W-What!" Then Thunder spoke up.
"I found him a long time ago when he was still an egg, his parents were killed by Predator Pokemon. They got hunted and I recused him, so I'm raising him right now." Fredrick felt bad for the poor Eevee. He looked at him. "I know how it feels to lose a family at a young age. You're not alone." The shiny Eevee smiled. "Your name is Fredrick right?" Fredrick nodded and Lupin laughed a bit. "Hehe haha." Then suddenly there was a loud sound and a lightning bolt hit Roary and he yelled. "REOW!!" then a Manectric walked out with a group of Electrike. "Greetings! I am Storm and I rule this part of the forest. I'm sorry, but I don't allow any trespassers!" Fredrick's ears pinned back. "Oh, no not more of this drama! it's Darle all over again! I'm not up for this." Then Storm glared at him. "Ah hem! I heard that!" He growled and Roary hissed. "Way to go, Fredrick! Just let me handle this." Fredrick frowned feeling slightly embarrassed for his outbreak. 'Well, I have been through enough bloodshed haven't I? All I want now is to find a safe place so I live in peace for a while. until Denny finds me that is...
His ears drooped as he thought of that. Roary stepped up and spoke calmly. "Look we're not here to cause any problems. We just need to find a safe place where we can rest. We just need to pass through if you don't mind. I promise we won't linger within your borders we'll be respectful and we won't hunt any prey either."
Storm took a threatening step closer and growled, "I said you're not welcome here! you will turn around and go back the way you came!" Jennifer got mad and yelled. "We can't do that!" She snapped. "Look all we want is to pass through, why not just let it slide this one time? We're kind of desperate here!" Then everyone went quiet and all the Electrike's gasped in shock. Fredrick stiffened in fear. 'oh Arceus! Here we go another fight. Storm's fur bristled as he had a look of outrage on his face "No one has ever spoken to me like that! You got some nerve why I'll I'll!" Then he stoped when he heard crying and looked down at Thunder who was holding Nathan trying to calm him down. "Shh it's ok, it's ok... We're gonna be fine." The shiny Pikachu kept trying to reassure him.
Then the little Eevee jumped out of his paws and ran up to the Manectric. "Please don't hurt us! If we don't pass through that evil Vaporeon will find us and kill us!! Please!" He had more tears in his eyes. Fredrick exchanged a look with Lupin and the Mightyena grew a big smrik on his muzzle and Fredrick knew what he must be thinking. 'He can't turn down a scared little Eevee, can he? Storm's fur relaxed as he met the Eevee's sad gaze. "Well, I Suppose if you're that desperate. What kind of Pokemon would I be if I let a poor little Eevee parish." Fredrick felt annoyed with that. 'Oh yeah, but the rest of us don't matter.
Roary dipped his head politely. "Thanks, I promise we'll only be passing through." Storm grunted, "I'll be sending out a search party when morning comes and if they find you, you will be attacked." Roary nodded. "Ok, we'll keep that in mind." Then they all walked by the Electrikes. Lupin was chuckling a little and Jenifer shot him with a warning look then as he walked by Storm he shouted. "WHAT'S SO FUNNY HU?" Then Lupin jumped in surprised looking worried. "Oh, ahh... nothing!" He sheepishly said then ran with his tail tucked between his legs. Jennifer snapped at him once he caught up with them. "Way to go Lupin! You sure like to laugh at a bad time!" Then he growled, "Hey, you're the one who almost caused a fight, not me!" Fredrick let out a sigh feeling slightly annoyed with the two.
"Don't argue they let us through and that's all that matters." Thunder and Nathan were padding alongside Roary. "So we need to clear this area as soon as possible." Thunder said and the Persian nodded. "Yes, it would be nice." Fredrick was looking around. "It's too bad we can't hunt," he said disappointedly as they all carried on through the Woodland.
