Chapter 23 The Betrayal 

Scarlet's P.O.V.

Scarlet was running around feeling panicked and scared as she lost both Fredrick and Zack. It was hard to find anyone in this chaos and Scarlet couldn't help feeling scared as she kept thinking of her vision. She didn't even want to fight she had a strong desire to flee the camp but it was hopeless whenever she tried to get close to the camp exit her path got cut off. 'They're doing it on purpose No one can get out!
She was beginning to have a panic attack and then a Pokemon lunged at her. "AHHHH!!!" She cried as a Houndoom used dark plus. Scarlet closed her eyes then suddenly she heard an angry snarle. "Get your paws off of my daughter!!" A shiny Houndoom knocked him off. Scarlet got up and watched in shock as her father killed the other Houndoom and then ran to her. "Scarlet! Stay with me!" She nodded feeling relieved that Richard had found her. "Where's Fredrick?" He asked and she shook her head. "I lost him!"
"That's fine I have confidence that he'll be fine. Come with me we're fighting with Kristy we're a lot stronger if we stay together!" She nodded and ran after him. Scarlet followed him to a group of shinies and felt relieved to not be alone anymore.
But now she was worried about Fredrick. She cautiously slipped away looking around for him. "Fredrick!" She called out then as she was looking through the crowd she noticed a Vaporeon and got scared it looked exactly like the one from her vision. She ran back to the others deciding that she was safer in Kristy's group for now. 'As soon as I get the chance I'll make a break for it! I got to get out of here and escape it!

Fredrick's P.O.V.

Fredrick was feeling anxious as he couldn't find his sister or Zack then a sudden yell took him off guard. "FREDRICK!!" He turned to see a shiny Charizard flying right towords him. Before he could react he was swooped off the ground. "THIS IS YOUR FAULT!! YOU AND YOUR SISTER!" He screamed. "HOW DARE YOU BETRAY ME!!" Fredrick felt sick as they flew up high. He was only just realizing that he was scared of heights. "AHHH!! Put me down!!" He shouted. "Oh, don't worry I plan to to! When we get to the river!" Fredrick felt horrified he didn't know what to do. If he attacked the Charizard would drop him. 'But I don't want to fall to my death. Suddenly they got struck by the move Thunder. Fredrick gave a yell as he took the hit as well. Darle lost control and they started crashing down. Fredrick felt like he was going to be sick as terror gripped him. "AHHHH!!!" He screams. As they got closer to the ground Darle opened his wings in an attempt to pull back up but that turned out to be a mistake as one of his wings got hit by a tree branch on the way down and it made a loud crack. "GAHH!! MY WING!" Fredrick closed his eyes as they smashed into the earth but luckily for him, Darle broke his fall as he landed on the shiny Charizard and then tumbled off. Fredrick lay on the ground feeling great pain shooting through his whole body. "Hey, Fredrick is that you?" Came a voice that sounded familiar. "Ugh... Charlie?" He opened his eyes to see the Jolteon watching him. "Heh, what a way to catch two birds with one stone. Anything broken?" He asked. Fredrick grunted. "I'm not sure yet give me a few moments would yeah?" He smiled seeming pleased with himself until Darle got up. "YOU!" He shouted. "Because of you, my wing is broken! You'll die for this!" Charlie's ears went down and his fur spiked in fear. "Ah, sorry Fredrick gotta run!" He said before fleeing with the shiny Charizard pounding after him. "GET BACK HERE!!" Fredrick got up looked around trying to find his sister. 'Oh, Scarlet where are you?
Then his ears shot upright as he heard a voice that sounded somewhat familiar.
"Ah, ha! I've got you now! Your wing is broken no more flying away now! You big cowered!" Fredrick noticed a lot of Pokemon stopped fighting to watch as a Vaporeon approached Darle in a threatening way. The shiny Charizard looked outraged. "HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT!" He snapped. "Do you have any idea who I am?" The Vaporeon nodded. "Yeah, your Darle! The shiny who ruined my life!" He spat. "You have no idea how long I have waited for this day to come!"
"The nerve of you to even think you stand a chance!" The Vaporeon scoffed. "Hehe killing you is going to be too easy. I'll just put your tail out." He snorted "That's not going to kill me!" The Vaporeon smriked. "Well then let's just see about that, shall we?" Darle got mad and stomped his foot down. "I'd like to see you try! And even if it dose go out that won't kill me I'll only pass out!" He used a flamethrower and the Vaporeon ducked then got up. "MY TURN!" He used a hydro pump then lunged for the Charizard's tail. "Haha! The moment I've been waiting for! Let's see you pass out and never wake up again!" He used a hydro pump on the flame and it went out. Darle froze for a moment then went unconscious fallen down on his side. Fredrick stared in shock he hadn't realized that all of this time one's death could be so simple. The Vaporeon stood on top of the evil Charziard's body and a lot of Pokemon started cheering. Fredrick got happy. 'Yes! Darle is dead! We can finally be free! Then he froze as he realized the Vaporeon was now watching him. This made Fredrick Uncomfortable. 'Umm, is he looking at me? Or am I just in the way of something? Fredrick moved aside then looked again but this time they locked eyes with each other and the Vaporeon met him with a cold glare. Fredrick looked around feeling on Edge. 'This isn't happening! What did I even do? I don't know him!
Then he caught sight of his sister. Scarlet was running out of camp with Erand slowly creeping from behind. 'Scarlet's in trouble! I got to help her! Forgetting about the Vaporeon, Fredrick ran for the camp entrance and tried to keep up, he ran as fast as he could then he heard Erand's voice. "So your a traitor to Darle? I knew you were never one of us!!" He yelled. Errand ran up to her, and Scarlet braced herself for a hit, but then Fredrick lunged himself at Erand.
"Scarlet!" Fredrick called her. "Get back to camp they need your help, I'll take care of Erand."
Erand growled. "You can try! I'm gonna kill you! you traitors!" Scarlet didn't move she looked horrified. "Fredrick I can't! I'm not gonna make it! my vision this is it!" Fredrick's heart pounded in his chest as he remembered the way the Vaporeon had looked at him. "Oh, no. Scarlet." She looked puzzled "What's wrong?" She sounded worried. "Scarlet we got to get out of here! I've been followed!" She looked alarmed. "WHAT?!" Erand took Fredrick by surprise and pinned him. "Scarlet get out while you still can! He's gonna be here any Minute! Run!" She looked scared but she didn't move. "No, Fredrick! I'm not leaving you! He'll kill you!" Erand smiled "Damn right I will!" Fredrick pushed him off. "We're not talking about you!" Then he used a flamethrower, on the shiny Absol. Fredrick paused as the bushes rustled and a Vaporeon emerged out. Erand laughed. "Haha really? You two are getting all worked up over a stupid Vaporeon!" Erand padded towards him. "Oh, I'm gonna have pleasure doing this" But once he got close enough the Vaporeon struck him with Iran tail then ripped his throat open. The Absol looked shocked as he fell to the ground struggling to breathe. He let out choking sounds for a few moments before going completely still. Fredrick swallowed nervously and Scarlet gave a terrified scream.
"RUN!" The Vaporeon yelled at them. "Not so fast! The Fredrick I know doesn't run from a fight!" Fredrick froze in shock. Then stared at the Vaporeon for a few brief moments realizing he never did see Denny yet. 'No, no, it's not him! It can't be! Scarlet's voice was shaky. "Fredrick it's him. We gotta go now!" But Fredrick didn't move. He got mad and clenched his teeth together.
"No, I don't believe this! I don't know you! Who are you?" He demanded. The Vaporeon cracked a smile he seemed to be enjoying this. "Hahaha, you need to wake up Fredrick, it is me.... your brother remember?" Fredrick's fur bristled. "your not Denny! He would never do this! He loves us!"
Denny slowly walked up to Fredrick then he placed his paw out revealing his scar. "Is this proof enough?" Fredrick stared for a few moments. "Denny? But that scar is a Symbol that you're always supposed to look out for me." Scarlet looked confused. "What are you guys talking about? I didn't know you both had scars."
Denny glared at her, then faced Fredrick again. "That's why it means a lot for me to be the one to kill you." Fredrick felt hurt. He couldn't believe what he was hearing then it was replaced by anger. He glared at Denny and growled.
"So, you're saying all this time we waited for you to come. We waited all this time for you and Shawn to come and save us, and now that your finally here you're going to kill us? Our lives meant nothing this whole time? Is that what your telling me!" Scarlet was shaking. "What will Shawn think of you when he finds out you killed us?" Denny looked down at his paws. "Shawn will never know about this, I'll just tell him that you were drowning in the river and Fredrick tried to save you, but it was too late by the time I pulled you both out." Fredrick got nervous. 'Oh no! He does plan to drown us! Scarlet looked scared. "You can't drown us! I had a vision you were going to do that so. I learned how to swim!" Then she smriked at him and Denny looked surprised. He gritted his teeth looking frustrated. Fredrick knew that Scarlet was buffing but he wasn't about to let Denny know that. "Fine! I'll just have to kill you with my bare paws! Then after that, all the Shiny Pokemon can die." Denny pulled out three gems and put them together, then they started glowing bright and they all flew up high making a really loud sound. Fredrick was dumbfounded by it. "Umm, what did you just do?" He asked almost too afraid to get the answer. Denny smiled "I just summoned three legendaries to come, and when they get here they will do exactly as I tell them because I'm the one with the gems. Oh but don't worry you'll both be dead by the time they get here."
"ROAR!" Fredrick swallowed feeling stiff with shock. 'Is this some kind of nightmare? what is going on? How Could Denny do something so awful? Scarlet began sobbing in distress. "I don't understand Denny! Why do you want us dead?" He glared at her. "I want you dead because I hate shinies! And that's you guys! I'm not gonna stand by while all you shinies think you're so special! let's just see how special you are when your six feet down!" Fredrick felt shocked he couldn't believe what he had just heard.
"I NEVER ONCE THOUGHT I WAS BETTER THAN YOU!" He shouted losing his temper.
Denny held his glare. "Oh yeah? Then why didn't you want to escape with me when you had the chance?" Fredrick froze. "I didn't go with you because Darle would have killed you! Are you really ganna kill everyone over that?
Wow.... that's really low you know what maybe I am better than you." That seemed to have done it. Denny got really mad and growled. "ERRRR!" He used a hydro pump and it hit Fredrick taking him by surprise as he got knocked away. He felt shocked by the pain, and then before he could react Denny dived at him with outstretched claws. "RAAAAA!!" Fredrick quickly rolled away before he got scratched then Denny pinned him.
Fredrick felt shocked as he felt his brother's paws pressing down on his neck making it difficult for him to breathe. Then Denny leaned closer to him. "Should have escaped with me when you had the chance!" He hissed through clenched teeth. Fredrick just stared back at him in shock.
'He's just bluffing, right? He's not really gonna kill me... Fredrick was frozen in place as his brother raised a paw getting ready for the death blow. "FREDRICK!!" He heard Scarlet scream. She used Psyshock on Denny. He winced as the move hit him. Then he got off of Fredrick and turned around to face her. "Big mistake sister!" He shouted clearly annoyed that she had stopped him from doing more damage to the shiny Flareon. Fredrick lifted his head and watched as Denny went for her. Scarlet tried to run but couldn't get away. Fredrick closed his eyes in distress as he could hear Scarlet screaming in agony. He forced himself to get up as adrenalin
rushed through him. When Fredrick looked he could see that she was badly bleeding while Denny had her pinned to the ground. He was tearing her open. "How does that feel hu?!"
"PLEASE STOP!!" She pleaded then screamed in agony as he sank his teeth into her. "AHHHH!!! HELP!"
"NOO! DENNY STOP!!" Fredrick shouted then used a flamethrower and jumped on the Vaporeon's back and sank his claws in pulling him off their little sister. "Get off of her!" He used another flamethrower then Denny used an iran tail pushing Fredrick away from him. Fredrick gritted his teeth together as he sat back up. Denny turned around to face him with a big smirk on his face. "Haha, good thing I didn't become a Glaceon after all. That could have gone wrong." Fredrick froze in shock. "Denny, What are you saying? You became a Vaporeon because you like water right?" Denny smiled. "Well, that too, but I couldn't get over the fact that water kills you!" Then without warning, he used a hydro pump and it hit Fredrick. "ARG!" He yelled as it started raining again. Fredrick felt scared for his life now. 'Oh, Acreus! He's going to kill me! And I have no chance! Denny slowly started walking towards him. "Oh, Fredrick your death is just so unfair. Just like our mothers."  Then Scarlet ran up and jumped on him. "I won't let you do that!" She hissed and they both started fighting. Fredrick was lying on the ground trying to get up, but he was too weak from Denny's last hit and the rain was only making it worse. Fredrick watched them fight as Scarlet pushed Denny and used psychic, but he dodged it and used Shawdow ball Scarlet jumped away in time then she knocked Denny down Fredrick felt hopeful. 'Yes, she's gonna beat him! But then Denny hit her hard in the face and clawed her eye, Scarlet gave a horrible scream as blood gushed out. "No!" Then in seconds, Denny was on top of her, Scarlet gave Fredrick a look of terror then she screamed as Denny bit into her shoulder and started tearing her open. Blood started pooling around them. Fredrick watched in horror as Denny went for her throat and ripped her life away, Fredrick let out a loud agonized scream. "NOOOOOO!!!" He started crying as Denny stepped away from her. Scarlet was now lying on the ground unmoving and lifeless. Fredrick whimpered. "Scarlet.... i..I'm S-sorry this is my fault. Please wake up." He was trembling, then Fredrick tried to get up and run to her, but Denny stopped him pinning him down. Fredrick's heart started pounding rapidly in his chest as he met his brother's cold glare. He sobbed a bit. "D..d-Denny... please... I'm s-sorry Denny don't kill me...please brother.." he sniffed. Denny hit him with a hydro pump right in the face. Fredrick felt dizzy and started coughing up water, some of it got in his mouth. Fredrick tried to look at Denny but he was beginning to blur out as he was slowly losing consciousness, he could tell he was getting ready to do another hydro pump. 'I can't take another hit! Fredrick felt sad as he realized there was nothing he could do. 'This is it I'm gonna die. Fredrick closed his eyes and waited for death. Then suddenly Denny was knocked off of Fredrick and his water attack missed completely feeling puzzled Fredrick slowly got up a bit, and looked to see an Umbreon standing over him Protectively. 'it's Shawn!
Shawn looked horrified. "DENNY! What are you doing? Have you gone mad? That's Fredrick our brother! I can't be-" Shawn stopped when his gaze fell on Scarlet. "No..." He breathed out in a low voice then he ran over to her, Denny didn't move or say anything he just watched quietly as Shawn ran up to shiny Espeon and pawed her lightly in the side. "Scarlet? It's me Shawn, your brother."  He held her in his arms not caring that he was getting blood all over himself. "Scarlet it's ok we're here to save you like we promised... Please wake up!" He wailed out and Fredrick started crying again he couldn't handle it. Denny glared back at Fredrick and then looked at Shawn.
Shawn looked up at Denny. "How could you?" He whispered and slowly got up and glared at Denny. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!" Denny growled. "Listen Shawn I didn't want you to find out this way, but now that you're here I need you." Fredrick finally got to his paws as they were talking to each other then as he pricked his ears up he caught Denny's last words. "Kill him, Shawn." Shawn looked shocked. "What?! No, I'm not gonna kill Fredrick what's wrong with you?"
Denny took a step towards him. "I said kill him! you promised to stay loyal to me and that you will!"
"NOO!" Shawn jumped in front of Fredrick. "I will never let you hurt Fredrick!" Denny sighed. "Very well Shawn you lead me no choice then."
Shawn's ears went down "W-what do you mean?... Denny?"
"Relax I'm not gonna kill you Shawn but when you wake up Fredrick will be no more." Fredrick heard a loud sound. "ROARRRRR!" Shawn looked even more scared. "Their getting closer, don't tell me? your gonna kill everyone aren't you?" Denny nodded. "Only the shinies, Shawn now move out of my way!" Denny hit Shawn and he fell. "NOO! FREDRICK RUN NOW!!" He heard Shawn screaming. Denny glared at Fredrick. "You stay right there, you better not think about it, You got nowhere to go anyways! those legendary Pokemon will be here soon, and then what?" Denny used water plus on Shawn and he shouted sounding desperate this time. "FREDRICK GO! RUN!" Fredrick turned tail and ran without looking back. *huff huff* Fredrick kept running in fear not sure where he could even go so he hid in some bushes. A Leafeon and a shiny Espeon were sitting right in front of him Fredrick froze. "Mom? Scarlet?" Scarlet walked up to him, and Fredrick started crying again. "Scarlet no! This can't be. Please come back I need you!" She frowned. "I'm sorry Fredrick but what's done is done. I couldn't leave you just yet, you did your best to save me, now I'm gonna do what I can to save you." She touched him and the colour of his fur changed from yellow to red, he was coloured like a normal Flareon. Scarlet sighed. "I can only keep you hidden until midnight got it?" Fredrick felt shocked he nodded, and then Juile walked up to him. "My poor Fredrick please be careful we don't want you joining us tonight." Then they both faded away. Fredrick had his head down "Scarlet please come back." He whimpered. Suddenly the bushes shook and Denny jumped out from behind him. "I got y-.... hu?" He looked at Fredrick with confusion. Fredrick's heart started pounding in his chest and he felt nervous. 'What if he doesn't fall for this? I'm so dead!
Denny got closer to him and looked Fredrick in the eye. "Hmmm..." Then he growled, "Did you happen to see a shiny Flareon by any chance?" Fredrick didn't say anything not wanting to risk giving himself away. He just shook his head and moved aside. "Great." He grumbled then he ran into the camp. "FREDRICK!" He yelled, "YOU CAN'T HIDE FORM ME!"
'Yes, I can. Fredrick thought then suddenly trees started falling over as all the legendary Pokemon came running into the camp. Denny looked at them. "KILL ALL THE SHINIES!" He ordered them. "DON'T LET EVEN JUST ONE GET AWAY!" Fredrick watched in horror. 'I'm the only one that's gonna get away..
Then Fredrick just remembered. "DAD!, ZACK!"
Fredrick ran into camp. There were shiny Pokemon screaming and yelling, as they were all dying and running all over the place panicking.
Fredrick felt dreadful. Most of them were the good shinies. 'I should be dead already. If it hadn't been for Shawn and Scarlet, Denny would have killed me.
Fredrick froze in horror he saw Zack running away from Groudon. "ZACK!" He cried out. Zack paused looking confused then Groudon grabbed him. Fredrick gasped in shock as Groudon threw him on the ground and then stomped on him killing him instantly. Fredrick watched in horror he didn't know what to do then suddenly Shawn ran back into camp screaming. "DAD! FREDRICK! Where are you?!! Oh Arceus, please! Please no!!" Fredrick felt worried about Shawn but knew he couldn't confront him.
'What if Denny hears Shawn? Then he would know that something's up, and I can't take that risk. Well not yet anyway..
Kyogre was attacking lots of shiny Pokemon killing them with strong powerful moves.
Fredrick ran around desperate to find Richard.
Then he heard his voice. He had Charlie pinned. "Gerr you got a lot of nerve! You ungrateful piece of shit!" Fredrick felt reviled until he saw Denny coming. 'Oh, no Dad! Fredrick forced himself to keep his mouth shut and it was hard for him to do. Denny used a hydro pump and Richard got hit and then looked shocked as he recognized his son. "Denny? What are doing? it's me your dad!"
Denny growled "You're not my dad! You abandoned me and lied about Charlie, He should be my father, not you!" Richard didn't say anything he just stood there in shock. Then Denny used a hydro pump and kept using water moves on him until he died. Fredrick turned and ran away before anyone could notice him crying.
'I can't believe Denny!, has he no heart? Not a care anymore! Fredrick found a sheltered place to hide and started crying. 'we used to be so close and now he wants me dead! Fredrick had never felt so hurt before. 'Scarlet is dead and I promised her she would be ok... It's my fault she wanted to run away but I wouldn't listen to her. And all because I didn't want to believe it was Denny.
