Chapter 31 A Reunited Friend

Fredrick's P.O.V.

After sleeping for a few hours Fredrick opened his eyes letting out a tired yawn. He glanced around the den and then noticed some food was right in front of him. there were a few berries and some meat. The Flareon's stomach growled and he felt a stab of pain after. He hadn't realized he hadn't eaten all day the other day. He frowned it had been a tough day for him and his brother held him captive in his camp. Fredrick eats hungrily at the food in front of him devouring it fast. Once he finished he sat up and began grooming himself then Lupine returned to the den. "Ah, you're up." He said with a smile. "How are you feeling?" He asked and Fredrick glanced at him. "Better than I did before... thanks." The Mightyens smiled. "No, problem. You looked like a mess when I found you early this morning." He paused for moment then a hint of worry flashed in his yellow eyes. "So ahh I noticed there were quite a few Mons out there looking for you. I didn't realize you had it this bad." He said and Fredrick couldn't help feeling anxious as he peered outside and then moved more to the back.  "Denny found out I got away, he's looking for me.... and he won't stop at anything until I'm dead by his paw." Lupin growled. "Well, he can look all he wants he's not going to find you here!"
Lupin sighed. "So what are you going to do now?" Fredrick frowned for a bit then answered. "I... I don't know... I need to get to the ice mountains," Lupin looked surprised. "What?.... why? Isn't that where Denny lives now?" Fredrick sighed. "I want to save a friend, I know it's risky but I have to, as long as Denny doesn't find out, I should be fine." Lupin frowned. "OK, if it's that important I'll go with you, I want to help you." Fredrick felt relieved that he wouldn't have to go alone, and he smiled. "Thanks, Lupin." Lupin smiled and then nodded his head. "You're welcome, I think we should wait a few days just until Denny and his followers are gone it's too risky right now." Fredrick felt frustrated. He wanted to hurry up and get there before something bad happened to Kyle. 'He could be dead already for all I know.' but Fredrick knew the Mightyena was right. 'there are lots of Mons looking for me and if we get caught there are too many Pokemon to fight our way out.'
Lupin stretched then padded for the den entrance. "You stay in the den where it's safe I'll be back." Then before Fredrick could question him as to where he was going he left. Fredrick was sitting all by himself waiting for the Mightyena to come back.

Lupin's P.O.V

Lupin ran threw the woodland looking around his ears pricked for any noise in case someone was watching him, Lupin kept running threw the trees then he stopped when he picked up a familiar scent. 'I'm here' Then a voice called him. "Lupin what are you doing here?" The Mightyena turned to see a male Persian walk up to him with a puzzled expression on his face. Lupin knew this Persian he met him when he was all alone after his tragedy with his pack, Roary had helped him out because he was not used to living on his own, he taught him how to be independent and look after himself, they were close friends. Lupin knew he could trust this cat-like Pokemon with anything. "Hi, Roary, I recently found a friend of mine that I haven't seen since I was a Poochyena." The Persian was licking his front paw. "Oh yeah? old friends, I see how's that going?" Lupin frowned. "Well, I gotta admit I always thought that if we ever met again it would have been really exciting but now... I'm scared for his life he's in a very bad place." Roary paused putting his paw back down. He gave him a worried look. "Don't tell me.... he's not a shiny Flareon is he?" Lpuin froze taken aback by the question. "Umm yea... why?" Roary shook his head and had a look of disappointment in his red eyes. "A Houndoom is out looking for him with other Mons right now, he stopped by and asked me if I saw him or heard anything about him."
Lupin frowned. "His name is Fredrick and he needs help." Lupin gave Roary a pleading look. "Please if anyone is good at helping others it's you, please come and meet him." Roary backed away slowly. "I'm sorry but you're not gonna like what I have to say about this." Lupin felt frustrated and let down by his friend. "OK then say it." He growled his lips curling at the beginnings of a snarl, Roary sighed. "It's dangerous I've heard about the war with Darle and the shiny Flareon. The Vaporeon that wants him dead is powerful, I mean if he took down Darle he has to be, and he will get what he wants a lot of Pokemon are loyal to him, and honestly Lupin I'm afraid if you try to stand in his way he'll kill you, or use you to get to Fredrick you want my advice? Stand down you don't stand a chance." Lupin growled. "So what are you saying? leave Fredrick for Denny to find so he can kill him?... Well, You know I can't do that! It's just so unfair!" Roary sat quietly for a bit like he was lost in thought then he looked at Lupin again "Where is he now?" He asked.
"In my den hiding right now." Roary got up and had a serious look on his face. "Ok, then maybe you're right, I wouldn't like it if I had nowhere to go and someone was after me, what's your plan so far?" Lupin frowned "Well we were planning on going to the ice mountains to save a friend of his, Fredrick is really worried about him." Roary gave a frustrated hiss.  "That is a big no, no right there! That Flareon is just gonna get himself killed, that's where Denny lives! it's way too risky!" Lupin got to his paws and arched his back in a long stretch then he stretched out his hind legs. "Well, you can try telling him that, so will you help us?" The Persian probed him in the side playfully with his paw. "Of course I'm gonna help, I'll help any Mon in need you know that." Lupin started leading the way back toward his den. "Good follow me! there's no time to lose!" Then they both ran through the undergrowth heading back to Lupin's den, Roary was looking around making sure that no Mon saw them he didn't want to be followed if anyone had heard them talking.
