Chapter 26 On The Hunt

Denny's P.O.V.

Denny was sitting on an ice cliff watching the Pokemon below him battle practising or going out to hunt. He sighed and glanced up at the sky waiting for that Salamence to come back with hopefully his two brothers.
'I still can't believe Shawn would turn on me! well, I'm not gonna feel sorry for him when he cries and begs for his life! Then Denny heard a flapping sound. 'Ah good he's back I better see Fredrick it's time to finish what I started! Denny pictured Fredrick lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood. 'I just want him dead so life can go on I cannot Tolerate him living why should he? He betrayed me long ago and he must pay for it, the same thing goes for Shawn! The Salamence landed in front of Denny with his head down. Denny was not happy he gritted his teeth. "Umm, where are my two brothers I asked for? They couldn't have gone that far." The Salamence looked ashamed. "Well, here's the thing we did find them but.." Denny leaned closer "But what?"
"Umm, we lost them... I'm sorry" He hung his head looking embarrassed. Denny's lips were drawn back as he snarled. "How could you lose them? There is literally nowhere to hide in these mountains! You got to be shitting me!" The Salamence took a step back now looking scared. "Please forgive me, sir." Denny hit him with an ice beam attack And jumped down from his ledge. "This is unacceptable! It's sad you should be able to see everything from up there! But yet you lost them?" The Salamence got back up from the hit. "Yeah.." He answered. Denny growled, "I want you to go out into the nearest forest away from the ice mountains and spread the word that a shiny Flareon and an Umbreon are wanted in the ice mountains! Is that something you can handle?" Denny asked. The Salamence nodded. "Yeah, I got it!" Denny growled. "You better! Now get going!" He hit him with another ice beam then he flew off again. Denny took off to Charlie's den he bumped into Zeta on the way "Hey!" Zeta snapped then paused when he realized it was Denny. "Oh, Denny it's you where are you off to in a hurry?" Denny paused. "Zeta I need you and Charlie to come with me." Zeta tilted his head in confusion then smiled. "We're going after your brothers aren't we?" Denny nodded then ran to Charlie's den. "Charlie get up, you are coming with me on a mission!" Charlie got up seeming puzzled. "Oh? Ah sure I guess..."
"Good now meet me at my den and we will leave from there, I just got to find someone to keep in charge while I'm away." Denny ran back to his cliff and climbed on top of it again. Kevin approached him. "Denny, what are you doing?" He asked. Denny looked down at him.
Hmm, I don't think I trust Kevin there's no way I'm putting him in charge while I'm away. Denny ignored him and called a meeting. "Listen up! I'm leaving to go search for my two brothers! if anyone happens to come across a shiny Flareon or Umbreon do not kill them! I want them brought back here. keep them Prisoner in my den and send the message out to me so I know."
Everyone was quiet except for Kevin. "Listen Denny when your done I need a word with you."
Denny felt frustrated towards the Arcanine. "Ok, but I'm busy right now." He hissed. Kevin stepped back with his ears down. "Terry!" Denny called and a midnight form Lycanroc walked up to him. "I'm leaving you in charge, be sure to send Mons out every day to do some shiny hunting." The lycanroc nodded. "Will do sir!"
"Good now I'm off." Denny jumped down and padded for his den where Charily and Zeta would be waiting for him. Kevin followed him. "Denny please just hear me out!" He said sounding more pushy about it. Feeling annoyed Denny turned on him and shouted. "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" He demanded. Kevin flattened his ears. "Denny about all this nonsense..." He began. "When I joined You it was my understanding that you promised to only kill the evil shinies, not all of them." Denny rolled his eyes. "You're bringing this up now? Well, it's a little late for that. Sorry, I can't bring back the dead." Kevin looked hurt and sad. "You lied to me Denny, you know
I thought you were something special. But now I think you're going mad with power." He looked around. "I mean what is this? I never agreed to these terms I thought we'd all go back to our normal lives after the war. Not this shit." Denny took a threatening step towards him. "So what are you saying?" Kevin held his gaze. "I'm disappointed in you Denny. I was looking forward to seeing my mate but she is dead now because you killed her!" Denny shrugged. "So? I killed my little sister and you don't see me crying about it."  Kevin let out a shocked gasp. "YOU DID WHAT?" He paused looking stunned. "How could you do something like that? You kill a family member and then shrugged it off like it's nothing?" Denny just stared at him blankly after. He wasn't about to show guilt to Kevin. He now looked mad and shook his head. "You know what I don't think this place is for me. I think I'm gonna just go." Denny blocked his path. "No one turns their back on me! Once you walk into that war with me I expect your loyalty after."
Kevin looked shocked. "Well, I wasn't told about that!" He said. "I walked into that fight believing we were gonna save all the innocent shinies, but that was a lie! So I think it would be fair to let me go now." Denny glared at him with an icy stare. "You're at a type disadvantage here you know." Fear flashed in Kevin's eyes. "What are you saying?" Denny didn't answer instead he used a hydro pump and it took Kevin by surprise throwing him against an ice rock, He quickly got up and started running without looking back.
Denny gave chase feeling annoyed. "Get back here you big coward!" He yelled. But Kevin
kept running as fast as he could. Denny decided to slow his pace down. 'If he keeps running eventually he'll get tired and won't have any energy left to defend himself with! Kevin kept running and Denny started to realize where he was going. 'Oh, this is gonna be easy!
Denny was running at a slow pace falling behind watching as Even got further away until he came to a dead end. Denny finally caught up to him having him cornered at the cliff where the broken bridge was, where Shawn and Fredrick had escaped last night. The Arcanine was cowering near the edge with panic in his eyes.
Denny laughed. "Ha! No were left to run now you Cowered!" He mocked. "Denny, please. I know what you're thinking! I don't deserve this! Please!" He begged. Denny just glared at him. "You are a traitor! you're no better than Shawn, I think you do deserve it!" Kevin whimpered. "I'm sorry can we just forget this happened I'll stay and help you kill Shiny Pokemon just don't kill me!" Denny growled. "Is your self-esteem that low? I know that you're not loyal to me, you never were and never will be!" He snarled
Kevin's eyes grew wide with shock. "But I'm not a shiny!  Just let me go you don't have to kill me, I won't tell anyone I promise." Denny took a couple of steps closer. "I don't care if other Pokemon know what I'm about! but you are right you won't be telling anyone because I made my decision." Then to Denny's surprise, Kevin got up and started forming a shadow ball and threw it at him. Denny got blown back by the impact and landed on his side in the snow. Kevin ran up and tried to use a bite, but Denny rolled out of the way in time and hit him with a hydro pump knocking him backwards Denny quickly seized his moment and jumped to his paws and used a shadow ball. It hit Kevin and he struggled to his paws. Denny started closing in on him forcing him closer to the deadly drop. Kevin slowly backed up until he was near the edge he used a flamethrower but the flames were extinguished with water before they could touch Denny.
Kevin growled and his fur Bristled. "If you try to push me over the edge, I'm taking you down with me! Then at least I'll die being a hero!" Denny started focusing on his water ability and a big a wave of water started to form behind him. "Sorry Kevin I have a lot to accomplish before I die, but it was nice having your help for a little while." Then he used to surf and Kevin screamed as he was washed right over the edge. His yells slowly died down as he disappeared into the blackness of the drop that never seemed to end. Denny tried to listen to see if he could hear him hit the botten but nothing ever came. He turned and padded back towards his den. 'I don't know what was at the bottom of that drop, but there is no way Kevin could have survived it, and that's hooked enough for me.
