Chapter 50 A New Recruit

Fredrick's P.O.V.

Fredrick was sleeping peacefully beside Jennifer when his ear twitched at the sound of paw steps approaching. He opened his eyes and then relaxed when he saw it was Lupin. "Hey, Fredrick are you up?" He nodded. "I am now why?" He asked and Lupin sighed. "I'm getting a bad feeling I think we should head back to Roary and the others. I'm starting to think this was a bad idea." He said and Fredrick held his gaze and then thought for a bit. 'He's worried about Denny finding us. Are we safer with the others then we are out here? He yawned and got up. "So you think we should go to Roary and then get everyone to leave?" He shook his head "Well, We are in a good spot I'm thinking maybe if we head back to camp and just stay there long enough for Denny to pass through then it'll all be fine." Fredrick frowned not knowing what to think of the situation. Then suddenly there was a loud howling and Jennifer shot out of bed in a panic looking scared. "Oh no, they found us!" She yelled in a panic. Fredrick felt his heart sink. That howl was too close to get away without being spotted. Lupin looked worried then they heard it again but this time even closer. Lupin suddenly got excited. "No way!" His tail waged "Guys it's ok Denny's not with him!" He howled right away after and Fredrick felt a bit shocked but relieved at the same time. There were paw steps and Fredrick turned his head to see the shiny Lycanroc running towards them. "Fredrick!!" He called with joy and suddenly Fredrick felt happy to see him he thought for so long that Kyle had been dead since the last time they saw. He bolted up and they hugged each other Kyle looked excited "Fredrick it's so good to see you!! I thought you were dead!" Fredrick felt surprised by that. "What! I thought you were dead" Kyle hazed at him then looked at Lupin and Jennifer who both looked puzzled. "So you're a friend of Fredricks?" She asked and he nodded then Lupin giggled. "So are we! Fredrick and I come a long way back we used to be friends as kids. Until Darle happened." Kyle smiled "Nice to meet you." Then he paused. "So, I guess Shawn didn't make it." Fredrick felt a wave of sadness washes over him at the memory of his brother drowning then Kyke frowned as he realized the pain in Fredrick's eyes he hung his head. "Oh, I'm sorry may he rest in peace."
Then the bushes shook behind him and it startled Fredrick. "Umm, Kyle I think you've been followed!" Jennifer said sounding nervous and he nodded. "Well, that I might need to explain." Fredrick raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" Then a whole group of shiny Pokemon walked out. Some looked injured and what caught his eye was the shiny Mightyena Sparkle. "Sparkle! What are you doing here? I thought you wanted to be left alone?" Fredrick asked. Sparkle sighed "I did but it didn't go that way. Unfortunately that Vaporeon found us and attacked." He paused for a moment looking upset. "He killed quite a bit of us." Fredrick felt his stomach sink as he began to get a bad feeling.
'Please don't say his army is here next...
Lupin gasped in shock. "What! But it's just him, his mate and friends how could he take on all of you?" Then Kyle answered, "Umm, not anymore we kinda have a big problem now. His whole army is here and they are pretty close by." Fredrick felt worried and scared. 'Already? How does he keep finding me?
"Ok, Lupin I think I agree on going home now." Kyle looked puzzled. "And where is home?" He asked. Jennifer answered, "We found a place that will be very hard to find trust me we'll be safe there now come on there's no time to waste." Then she took the lead and everyone started following. Fredrick was walking beside Lupin then Sparkle ran to flank him on the other side. "Fredrick, Thanks for helping us. I'm sorry I turned you away. You were right I should have listened to you." Fredrick met his gaze calmly. "Why are you apologizing? You didn't do anything wrong." The shiny Mightyena shook his head. "It was wrong of me to send you away... You're right Denny is a psycho with an army set out to eliminate us shinies and if we want to make it through this we need to stick together. I would like to join your group." Fredrick frowned feeling a bit uneasy. "You know we plan to go to war against him?" He nodded. "I do and the more of us the better chance we have to win. And being shiny we are stronger!" Fredrick smiled "Yeah I guess that's true." Lupin smiled "Welcome aboard friend." Then they all travelled on in silence.
