Chapter 29 - The Visit

Ilang araw ang dumaan at ipinatawag si Mandie sa kanilang Headquarters. 

Mandie:  Hey Chief! Got your message. what's up?

Chief Norton:  Well the girl you almost killed is all better since two days ago.  We tried to get her to confess but she said she only wanted to talk to you.

Mandie: Oh?

Chief Norton:  Do you personally know her?   And why did you hurt her that bad?

Mandie:  She ones tried to stole my father from me. If I didn't provoke her to hurt me.  She would have succeeded. 

Chief Norton:  So, what you did was revenge then. You know that's wrong.

Mandie:  I know chief, I guess I had a trauma when I saw her.  But I understand if you want to punish me for it. I'd be willing to accept whatever the punishment would be.

Chief Norton:  I would have suspended you but everyone seems to disagree with me. So, I will make a deal with you... if you get a confession from this suspect. You're off the hook and you just need to go to the psychologist and work out on that trauma.

Mandie:  Fine, I'll do it.

Chief:  Good... Go to the interrogation room.  She's there.  She went here to personally talk to you.

Tinungo ni Mandie ang adjoining room ng interogation room kung saan naroon si Alex at isa pang agent.  Doon nakikita nila at naririnig ng nasa loob ng interrogation room pero ang nasa loob hindi sila nakikita o naririnig. Inirerecord lang ang buong pangyayari sa loob ng interrogation room.

Alex:  We'll be here, kapag kumilos ng hindi maganda papasok kami.

Chief Norton:  I don't think she would try anything after she almost die in your hands.  It seems to me that she wants to cooperate.  We can offer the witness protection program but it would be depends on how much she can say.

Mandie:  Got it Chief!

Binuksan ni Mandie ang pinto.  Napatingin lang sa kanya si Shelby.

Mandie:  You were looking for me? Are you all better now?

Shelby:  Bruised but I'm better. I was just released at the hospital today.  They said I will be put in jail so I thought of talking to you.  Nung makulong ako sa Pinas, takot na takot ako merong nagbabanta na papatayin ako kapag hindi ako sumunod,  ginagawa nila akong alila. Meron naman gustong magbigay ng protection puri ko naman ang kapalit.  Ayoko ng maranasan yon.  Please tell me what can I do para hindi ako sa kulungan madala. I will go crazy in jail.

Mandie: If you will cooperate and tell us everything you know we  CAN put you in the witness protection program.  But that depends on what you can tell us. 

Shelby:  I can tell you everything.  I can give you names of the sharks.  I can  make people witnessed against them and I can tell you right now, they're next plan. 

Mandie: Why do I feel that there's more to your reason... If you don't want to go to jail, you should have not join this syndicate you know that eventually you will be caught. Besides if you want to witness why do you need to talk to me?  You know its easier for you to talk to my Boss.

Shelby:  Because you know my Boss better and I want to ask for your opinion before I say anything else.

Nagulat si Mandie pero nanatiling naghihintay ng sasabihin ni Shelby.

Shelby:  Are you sure you want me to continue? Your past connections might jeopardize your position.  I don't want you to be in trouble or anything.  I have gotten you in too much, you already lost your family.
