"I missed you"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gabriel had been dead for five years now and every day was hard for Sam. Sam loved Gabriel, he was the first person that he loved after Jess and no matter how many times he tried to move on, he couldn't forget the candy loving angel. He and Gabriel had been dating for two years before the incident where Gabriel sacrificed himself for Sam and Dean, and no one knew just how hard his death was.
Gabriel knew that the life of a hunter was dangerous and that letting himself grieve daily would only put in and those he cared for in further danger. So every year on the anniversary of his death, Sam would spend the day grieving over the loss of his angel. He would sit in his room, drinking a beer, remembering the times they spent together no mater how short and fleeting they were and he would do nothing but cry and remember the good memories. Because he knew that tomorrow he would have to forget, no matter how impossible that was.
However this year Dean, dragged Sam out of his room and out of his misery for a hunt. Dean didn't know what today was nor did Sam want him to know. Reluctantly the set out and did what they did best. Gank something.
Arriving at their destination, Sam refused to grieve and to stay focused on the hunt at hand. However that grew increasingly difficult seeing as everywhere he looked all he could notice was little reminders of Gabriel and their time together. The worse thing was that it was ordinary items that didn't relate to them at all, empty sweet wrappers that littered the floor, red roses in the flower shops. Th day only left Sam's heart feeling more hurt and sore.
Later that day as the sun was going down, Sam and Dean closed in on the creature. They got closer and closer until Dean disappeared into thin air. Sam frantically whipped his head around looking for either the creature or Dean as worry rushed through his body. He couldn't lose Dean. Not today of all days.
As the fear grew he heard a voice he thought he would never hear again. "Hey Samantha." Hearing that caused Sam to burst into tears. Today of all days he couldn't live with hearing that voice. Falling to the floor, tears still streaming down his face Sam shouted at the creature to kill him and stop torturing him in the most painful way possible. With the memory of his lost love.
Soon he felt someone rest a hand on his shoulder. His vision was still blurred by tears but he knew who it was. There behind him with a shit eating grin was Gabriel. Still smiling at the moose like man Gabriel said "Why're you crying love?" Sam couldn't believe it, without another thought Sam pulled him in for a kiss. As their lips moved in sync, both desperate after being starved of each other for years, Sam noted that it was just as he remembered. Gabriel still tasted of sugar and melted against him.
Despite every part of him telling him that this was Gabriel, Sam had to be sure. There was only one thing that him and Gabriel said to each other so quietly Sam whispered "Just desserts."
Gabriel just smirked and said "Strawberry syrup." Sam pulled Gabriel into his arms and whispered "I missed you" not caring about anything other then the angel that was now in his arms and Sam was adamant that that was where Gabriel was going to stay.
