8: Destiel

"I will do anything it takes to make sure you're safe and happy I don't care what anyone thinks about that"

After a long week of hunting, the Winchesters were finally home at the bunker. Sam limped down the stairs before going to bed to rest with out a single word while all Dean could do was look on helpless to relieve his brother's pain.

Dean couldn't help but feel guilty. Sam had taken that blow for him, he was supposed to be hurt not Sam. Dean dumped their duffle bags in the library and headed to the kitchen to get himself a beer.

Late into the night Cas entered the bunker. He has often gone for walks when he had something on his mind; and right now that was a certain green eyed, blond hair guy that he had been in love with since they first met. The way his soul still shone still brightly even though all the torture and pain it has gone through,surprised and captivated Castiel.

Walking down the halls of the bunker, he heard crying from one of the bedrooms. Drawing closer to the noise that was a rare occurrence with the Winchesters, it lead him to the door of his Dean. Upon opening the door, Cas was met with the sight of Dean, tears streaming down his cheeks as sobs erupted from his mouth. His greens eyes popping with colour as it stood out against the red puffyness that surrounded them.

Before Dean noticed that someone had enter the room, Cas could hear the faint mumbling of Dean blaming himself for different reasons that Cas couldn't quite make out due to the sobbing but one recurring blame was all the pain that Sam had gone through. Cas could also hear Dean mumbling about wishing that they never grew up in this life and that all he wanted was for Sam and Cas to be safe and happy.

The scene broke Cas' heart. Not because behind the strong mask that Dean so often hides behind there was a broken person who only wanted his love ones safe and happy, but the fact that Dean never showed this side of himself to anyone and thinks he has to go through all this by himself.

Cas softly whispers "Dean" as not to startle the upset man.

Dean whips around at the sound of his name being said from the doorway of his room only for his eyes to meet the blue eyes that so often haunt his dreams in the best possible ways that were now swimming with sadness. At the sight of Cas, Dean turns around to wipe his tears away and compose him self.

"Hey Cas I didn't know you were there." Dean explain plastering a fake smile on his face hoping to reassure his friend, and crush, that he was OK.

Cas walks towards Dean without saying a word before sitting down infront of him and pulling him into a hug, whispering into Dean's ear that it was okay to cry.

Dean had tears streaming down his face before he realised after Cas had said that and soon Dean was full on sobbing into Cas' shoulder while clutching onto his trench coat as if it was the only thing keeping him grounded.

Cas let his dark raven coloured wing unfurl and surround both him and Dean as if to protect Dean from all the pain and torment that lurked in the shadows. All Cas could do was whisper sweet nothings into Dean's ear while holding him in his arms and trying to make him feel wanted, loved and safe.

Dean calmed down with the scent and feel of Cas all around him. Cas never failed to save Dean or make him feel safe. Dean tryed fighting off sleep so he could enjoy the feeling of being held in Cas' arms alitlle longer.

When Cas noticed this he simply said "Sleep Dean, everything will be okay in the morning."

Drowsiness soon started to overtake Dean's senses when he felt Cas pick him up bridle style and carry him to the bed. Once Dean was layed down Cas climbed in beside him land held him in his arms before saying "I will do anything it takes to make sure you're safe and happy I don't care what anyone thinks about that."

Dean snuggled into Cas' warmth as he fell into a peaceful slumber, not before hearing Cas say "Sleep now Dean I'll watch over you."
