18: Klance

"Mmmmmm you're warm"

The Paladins had been training all day long and to say they were tired was an understatement. Leaving the training deck they made their way to the lounge. However just as they sit down to relax the lights around them go off and all that surrounds them is darkness.

The temperature drops slowly but fast enough for them to realise that it's getting colder.

Allura and Coran enter the room and explained that after the last battle, Zarkon's forces had damaged the ship while caused a loss in energy. To replenish this, they had to trim things off so the castle could regain energy faster. Soon after the explanation Allura and Coran go to monitor the ships progress.

Shiro and Pidge decide to go to their room so they could get a few hours sleep while Hunk went to get some food goo, hoping that it would still work with the ships power down. This left Lance and Keith on their own in the lounge.

Lance felt a bit awkward and gittery being left alone with Keith. Eventhough it was highly unlikely that Keith liked him back but Lance had a huge crush on Keith and only made up the 'rivalry' thing to hide his feelings.

Enjoying the peace and quite Lance leaned back on one of the chairs. It was soon interrupted but Keith who said "Hey Lance?"

"Yeah"

"Why've you been so distant lately?"

"What do you mean."

"You hang out with everyone else but when it comes to me you seem to be avoiding me. Have I done something wrong, I thought we were alright."

"Yeah we are and you haven't done anything wrong Keith. It just.. I...."

"You, what?

Lance thought to himself 'It's now or never, you need to tell him.'

" I just... I've had a crush on you for ages but there would of been no way you would of liked me back so I created the whole 'rivalry' thing to distract myself from my feelings but recently they've been becoming more frequent and I just thought it would be better if I just stayed away from you so you didn't feel uncomfortable around me. But I really like you Keith,and it's fine if you don't like me back but....yeah." Lance said blushing and looking away from Keith's direction. Lance was thankful the lights were off or his blush would be so noticeable.

Unknowing to him thought Keith's face looked quite like his own. "Lance I.... I like you too." Keith replied feeling his face warm up even more then it already had.

"So do you wanna... be my boyfriend?" Lance said moving closer to Keith.

"I'd love that." Keith said smiling.

Keith's body starts to tremble due to the room temperature dropping rapidly. Lance smiles at how cute Keith really is before opening his arms for Keith to cuddle into.

Keith, at first declines the offer as he didn't want it to seem as if a little cold bothered him. But after some persuasion, Keith was soon wrapped up in Lance's arms while his head was tucked into Lance's neck. "Mmmmmm you're warm" Keith said sleepily enjoying the heat that radiated off of Lance.

Silence envelopes the two in a comfortable environment that Keith had almost fallen asleep when he heard Lance say, "This reminds me of our bonding moment only the roles are now reversed." Lance had said it so quitely hoping that Keith couldn't hear him.

Keith instantly lifts his head up and glares at Lance before screaming "YOU DO REMEMBER!"

The two boys stared at each other before brushing into laughter at Keith's reaction. They then snuggled back into each other before letting sleep over come their senses.

The next morning the two woke up still cuddling together. Smiling at each other the bliss that still blanketed them from last night hadn't completely left yet. However their moment was short lived as a cough was heard next to them. They looked up only to be greeted by the sight of two confused alteans, two smirking geniuses and an angry smirking Shiro. Lance simply sits up with Keith still in his arms, kissed his cheek and left the room a smug look on his face while he went to shower. Leaving Keith to deal with the thousands of questions he would of been asked, and explain what had happened hours before.

Yet all Keith could think about was "Lance is so dead for leaving me here." while his eyes watched Lance's ass as he walked away.
