JEMIMA
A few weeks later I was standing in the floral room packing the suitcase the boys had bought me for my birthday or my doodle case as I called, preparing to leave for tour life with the boys. Matty really had left it last minute to make a decision, I'm not sure what would have happened if he'd said he wasn't going to do it. Ed said they might have had to get a temporary replacement for him, one of their music industry friends maybe as a substrate Matty. I know different options had been discussed behind the scenes but Matty wouldn't tell me what they were, I got the impression the boys had said they wouldn't do it if Matty wasn't on board.
William and I had given up trying to get alone time in the house as the boys were literally watching us like hawks, every time we got five minutes alone one of them would pop up with an excuse for being there, it was frustrating and annoying. Matty had cornered William on his own when he was fetching us a snack the other day and given him a lecture about how he expected him to control himself around me and that I was firmly off limits in any sexual way for the foreseeable future, he told him that even though I was nearly seventeen because of the trauma I had experienced I was very vulnerable underneath everything. Poor William was petrified of my brother and returned with our snacks looking a little pale.
The last few days William and I had gone out for 'walks' or 'lunch dates' but were actually just sneaking off to find somewhere to get some alone time. I guess we knew we would both be leaving soon so wanted to get as much alone time in as possible. sometimes we'd just sit at the beach house and watch the waves together eating junk food not saying much, but the fact we were together doing not a lot was perfect. I was trying to finish packing quickly so I could go on a date night with William for the last time before we left.
"Hey Emmy, need a hand?" Max appeared at the door.
"I think I'm nearly done max, I have no idea what I'm supposed to pack for tour life though!"
"Let me see" he laughed looking over my suitcase and rummaging though my wardrobe pulling out some clothes for me to pack. "So are you excited?"
"Yeah I guess, maybe a little nervous too though"
"You'll be fine Emmy......we get to spend more time together"
"Yeah, I hope I'm not going to get sick of the sight of your five faces stuck on a bus!"
"I meant you and me" he laughed nervously
"Oh...well....yeah...I guess we will. Max...how come we didn't celebrate your birthday, it was weeks ago?"
"Didn't feel like celebrating" he shrugged "nineteen's nothing special"
"Well I still owe you a birthday present! Anything you wanted in particular drumsticks?"
"You can't give me what I want Jemima" he said under his breath, I ignored him pretending I hadn't heard him and changed the subject.
"You haven't said what you want your thing to be yet" the boys and I decided that each of them would choose at least one thing they wanted to do or show me while on tour that they would do with just me, like one on one time. Then when we reach England I was going to choose one thing to do or show them each, just one on one.
"Well..." he started "I'm not sure I've one hundred percent decided yet. To be honest it will be nice just spending one on one time with you doing not a lot"
"That's not a thing though is it max! You have to choose something that you like that you want to show me"
"Ok, well what have you chosen for us in England"
