JEMIMA
"So good night after all?" Milo asked me on the drive back to the house, I nodded
"His family seem nice" Ed added, I nodded looking out the window, thinking about his forward grandmothers words, thoughts of giving her great grandchildren sent my mind spiralling back to Steve, I had been desperately trying to block him from my mind all week, but now he was flooding it and it was consuming my thoughts like a tsunami tidal wave hitting me and dragging me under water. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of pent up emotion and anger, everything was reminding me of him and what happened, it was like I couldn't escape him, he was everywhere. I wondered if I had ended up being a teen mum would William still be interested, would the boys still be willing to help me, I just couldn't wait to get back to the house and attempt to sleep or at least be on my own and try to forget like I had been doing since giving my statement.
"Earth to Jemima, anyone in?" Matty cooed at me
"hmmm What?" I snapped out of my thoughts
"Why are you being off with us"
"I'm not" I protested
Matty huffed and slumped back into the seat
"Probably the beer she was drinking" I shot max a filthy look "what you don't think I saw William sneak beer out to wherever you two snuck off to on your own and I know that wasn't apple juice you were drinking!"
"And who are you my keeper? It was two beers for Christ sake hardly the crime of the century, I'm hardly an alcoholic after drinking two beers, you think that's bad you should have seen how many I used to put away! how many did you boys down at the free bar huh?"
"We are old enough" max snapped back
"Whatever, like you didn't drink at my age, just because I wasn't allowed articles about you lot in the house doesn't mean I didn't see them being passed around at school! Midnight night blue's drunken antics plastered all over them! your full of shit max!" I huffed with my best teenage attitude
"Why are you being difficult" max furrowed his eyebrows
"I'm not, believe me you haven't seen me being difficult"
"Jemima" Matty calmly placed a hand on my knee "max is right I don't want you drinking, I definitely don't want William giving you alcohol, especially when your alone, you know what that looks like don't you."
"So what a have a beer with a friend and we're alone, and you automatically think I'm spreading my legs for him, I'm not a fucking whore Matty, but thanks for the vote of confidence."
"Woah, I didn't say that, I'm just saying if you put yourself in that position, he might get the wrong idea. I want you to be careful, I have eyes you know, he couldn't keep his hands off you, he spent most of the night sucking your face off! He's more than just a friend you and I both know that even if you won't say it out loud!"
"Ah right of course if a have drink alone with a guy then I'm asking for it right, it's my fault if he gets too handsy, glad you cleared that up for me Matty," I said sarcastically
"That's not what I said, we just want you to be safe ok"
"You.are.not.my.dad. So stop trying to act like one, your irritating me."
"No I'm not your dad, your dad left remember, but I'm still here, so I'm telling you no more drinking and tone it down with William or..."
