My Heaven And My Hell

Christmas Eve 12/24/2000

 Jenny's POV

I don't want to move I feel so warm and safe in Nikki's arms.
  "We have to get up baby." Nikki whispers in my ear.
  "Why?" I groan.
  "Because the kids are already awake and we promised they could open the presents I bought them this morning." Turning to face him I nuzzle into his chest for a moment sighing I pull away to get out of bed. I laugh I can hear the kids coming for the door.
  "Daddy Nikki, Momma open presents now?" Lizzy smiles gleefully.
"Patients Lizzy."  Nikki says Teasingly. She lowers her head shyly.
"Come on Lizzy let's wait in the living room." Charlie guides her out of the room with a smirk.
   We join the kids in the livingroom after we dress they are so excited they can barely contain themselves.
  "Ok Lizzy you first." Nikki grins. She squeals joyfully as she opens her present and finds a new doll.
   "That's cheating sir." I giggle "You know you can't go wrong with a doll for her." Lizzy crawls into Nikki's lap and hugs him.
   "Tank you Daddy Nikki."
   "You're welcome Lizzy." He pokes her tummy making her giggle.
   "Go ahead Charlie." I encourage him.
He opens his to find a remote control jeep.
  "Cool...thanks!" He exclaims.  Holding Mary I open hers it's a little red dress.
  "Oh it's so cute." I lean over and kiss Nikki softly.
  "Ooo I right here." Lizzy objects by poking Nikki in the chest. She gets down off his lap with an indignant huff. "You not gonna get nakie are you." Nikki and I are speechless being caught off guard. I'm trying really hard not to laugh.
  "Don't be silly Lizzy they only do that when they think their alone." Charlie addresses his sister. "They've been parents along time you would think they would already know they are never really alone." He sighs dramatically. I lean over to Nikki and whisper.
   "Privacy is just an illusion." Making him lose it and finally start laughing. "Hey that would make a good story." I smirk.
"I wonder where they get their sarcasm and sassyness from." He looks at me arching an eyebrow.
"Moi never." I giggle letting Mary down to crawl.
"I just don't believe you girl." He chuckles
  "I guess you are gonna have to get use to us." I hug him tight knowing he's going to be leaving soon. I notice the kids seem to have lost interest in us and have found the movie Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer to occupy themselves. Charlie pulls Mary into his lap trying to keep her content and smiles at me then turns back to the tv.
  "I guess I will." He smirks.
  "Come on we can have our illusions of privacy in the kitchen."
  "Waffles ok for breakfast?" I ask as I start gathering ingredients.
  "Sounds great. What's wrong?" He laughs as he watches me stop and sigh.
  "I'm height challenged, I can't reach the top cupboard." I groan. "My step ladder is missing."
  "Ahh how cute you need me." I glare at him and start to climb. "Oh no you don't pregnant women do not climb!" He pulls me down and places me back on my feet.
  "Bossy" I pout.
  "Big baby." He smacks my ass.
  "Do that again I may have to take you back to bed." I whisper.
  "Seriously what did you need?" He asks trying to keep a straight face.
"The powdered sugar." I point it out and then purposely brush against him.
"What do you need it for?" He grins sliding his hand down my side to my hip.
  "Because I intend to have it along with bananas, peanut butter, and syrup on my waffles." I huff and He snickers.
   "Do you think that will be enough?"
   "Well I'm hungry, I'm nursing and I'm pregnant." I roll my eyes at him.  "And I can eat what I want." He smirks and raises his hands in mock defeat.
  "The Queen has spoken."
  "Damn right."

   After breakfast and of course coffee I sit on the couch nursing Mary. Nikki is playing with Charlie and his new toy. Lizzy runs chasing and then running from the remote jeep making everyone laugh. As the saying goes Time flies when you are having fun. It's time for Nikki go. He helps me put Mary and Lizzy down for their noon nap.
  "Daddy Nikki I knows I got to shares." Lizzy whimpers. "But I don't want you go. Hows come they can't come here?"
   "Adult stuff is really messed up." He says as he covers her up. "I'm sorry Little one."
  "Someday maybe?"
  "Go to sleep Lizzy." He says gently.
  Charlie has already hid in his room. He doesn't like goodbyes. So I walk Nikki to the door by myself.
  "I'll see you soon." I whisper
  "Yes." he whispers back and leans down and brushes his lips against mine. I reluctantly release his hand as he leaves out the door. I'm with my daughter Lizzy. I don't want to share either.
