Jenny's POV

I wake to the phone ringing who could be calling at midnight. I groan as I answer the damn thing.

"Hello this is Donna." I groan into the receiver. "Please don't hang up. I'm not calling to cause trouble."

"Then why are you calling?" I sigh.

"I know Brandi lets her kids stay with you and as much as I despise you. My husband trusts you." She pauses. "I need a place for my kids to stay tonight."

"Why?" I ask.

"Because my stupid nextdoor neighbor broke a gas pipeline when he was landscaping. They evacuated the area My wallet wasn't in my purse and all my friends are out of town."

"Ouche. Yes they can stay." I sigh. I can't believe what comes out of my mouth next. "And so can you if you need too."

"Thank you." She say quietly. I don't say anything mean the pride and anger she must to have had swallow to call. I just give her my address and say goodbye.

We glare at each other when I open the door. This is not gonna be fun for either of us. I show her to the spare room across from mine. I had already set up a playpen for Frankie. We don't have much to say to each other so I start to go back to bed.

"Thank you for making his visitation in public places lately and keeping your distance." She says catching me off guard.

"I'm not doing it for you." I answer.

"I know." She says.

I head back to my room and close my door. It's been so hard avoiding him. I should take back the key, but it just seems to final. He still shows up to play with kids, but I won't let him stay the night anymore. It's just to much temptation. The tabloids have gotten a hold of the story probably from someone at the hospital or one of my distant neighbors. I've already had to gracefully ditch an interview because instead of asking me about my new book. They wanted to know about my affair. Charlie and Ryan got in a fight over this, both defending their mothers. That still hasn't been resolved. I'm glad Ryan is no longer mad at Nikki, he's just angry at me. I roll over and close my eyes. I need sleep.

Nikki's POV

Fuck I can't get to my home the road has been blocked. The cops that are standing around finally get around to telling me about the gas leak. Eveyone was asked to vacate the area. I was going to surprise her by coming home early. Why hadn't Donna called. I looked down and realize I hadn't turned back on the ringer after the interview. She had called and left a message. I dial to listen.

"I'm at your whores house, lucky me." Is the only message she left. I laugh sarcastically as I turn around and head towards Jenny's this should to be fun. Pulling up next to Donna's car the first thing I notice is everything seems peaceful. I get out slowly. Then again they might have killed each other I groan. I'm still wondering why here as I unlock the door and let myself in and disarm the alarm system. After Locking and resetting the alarm I look around no signs of violence I smirk. I'm assuming she's in the guest room upstairs so I quietly make my way trying not to wake anyone. I open the door and see Donna and Ryan asleep. I sit on the bed and touch her shoulder.

"Donna." I whisper. She wakes and smiles, then she frowns.

"How'd you get in here." She asks and glares. "She locked and set her security system I saw her."

"I just never gave her key back." I sigh. "I will if you ask me to." She just gives me a dirty look and moves over so I can get into bed. I guess that argument is for later. I crawl in beside her and and pray sleep comes fast.

Opening my eyes I see the sun shining through the window. Donna is cuddled up to my chest still asleep. I don't see Ryan he must already be up. Frankie is still asleep in the playpen. There is no way to get out of bed without waking Donna so I just relax and think of what I plan to do today. She finally stirs and groans. I think she just remembered where she was.

"How'd you end up here?" I ask before she even has a chance to open her eyes.

"My wallet got left behind couldn't get a hotel room and all my friends seem to be out of town and unreachable." She sighs.

"It must have been hard calling her." I hug her. "I'm sorry you had to do that. She's really a good person Donna..."

"Couldn't you just have left it at I'm sorry." She cuts me off and gets out of bed. Great I pissed her off.

We make our way downstairs to see all the kids eating waffles for breakfast. Jenny smiles sweetly at me when she sees me but goes quickly back to fussing over the kids. Ryan glaces up at his mother sheepishly and goes back to stuffing his face. I take my seat and pull Donna down into the seat next to me. There was no reason to stand around to feel awkward might as well sit. Jenny pours us coffee. Donna looks down at hers.

"Did you poison it?" She asks sarcastically.

"I thought about it." Jenny answers sarcastically back.

Wow this is a great start. I notice Ryan smile at Jenny when she offers another waffle. So does Donna he looks down at his food and avoids his mother's eyes as he tells Jenny thank you. I guess food is the way to a boys heart. I look around at my kids. I can't believe Brandi is using Jenny as a free babysitter. Well at least I know they are safe.

"Its nice of you to watch Brandi's kids for her." Donna says.

"I don't mind." Jenny replies.

"If you don't mind me asking. Why do you have extra baby stuff?" Donna asks she drinks her coffee.

"I take in emergency fosters till they find a more permanent placement." Jenny answers.

"That's really sweet of you." Donna says giving Jenny an actual smile.

"Are either of you hungry." Jenny offers politely.

"No thanks Baby..." I say and cut myself off.  Ah fuck I just blew the truse they had going on. The happy atmosphere was gone.

"You fucking whore." Donna screams at Jenny. I watch Jenny's eyes grow stormy.

"I let you into my home you cold hearted ungrateful bitch." Jenny says her tone nasty. I stand between them and begin to push Donna towards the door.

"We need to go Ryan." I shout and usher part of my family out the door before a fight breaks out.
