Nikki's POV

Sitting on the couch I watch Donna argue with Ryan. He has to spend it with his dad and he would rather spend it with his brothers. He finally caves and just mopes.

"I'm sorry I'm gonna miss today with you and the kids." Donna leans down and kisses me. "But I can't miss this photo shoot.

"I know." I answer. She smiles and goes to leave.

"You know where everything is for Frankie." She asks as she stands at the door.

"Yes Donna." I smile.

"Don't forget the sunblock and her hat today." She says.

"Go Donna." I chuckle. "I know how to take care of a baby." She finally leaves reluctantly.

The phone rings a few minutes later and I answer it.

"Hey Nikki It's Brandi." She says "There's a slight change of plans." Fuck I hope she hasn't come up with an excuse for me not to see the kids.

"Ya What's up?" I ask.

"Well you're going to have to pick them up at their friend Charlie's house." She pauses. "Sorry they begged to go and I gave in."

"That's ok they are really good friends and I know the place." I tell her. "Is that it Brandi."

"Yes nothing else." She answers. I say a quick goodbye and hang up.

What are the kids up to. I decide quickly not to wait to till it was time to pick them up. I get Frankie ready and into her carseat. I grab my keys and I'm on the road. Once I get there the house seems quiet as I take Frankie out of the Jeep. I head inside and find everyone getting ready to watch a movie.

"Hello everyone." I say.

"Hi." The kids say with their eyes still glued to the tv. Jenny glances up at me and smiles shyly Then looks back at the screen. I understand I don't know how to handle this either. I sit down with Frankie on my lap. As the title appears I laugh. It's Independence Day the movie. I'm sitting on the very end of the couch trying to give Jenny her space. Charlie helps Mary onto my lap now I have two babies I'm holding. Jenny is holding Elisa and feeding her. I'd like to be closer to them I sigh, but I know better. At first it's Charlie and instead of sitting between us he sits at his mother's other side. Then it's Lizzy who gets on the couch. Gunner smirks and joins them. By the time all the kids are on the couch Jenny is pressed up against my side and has a cute blush across her cheeks. I shouldn't do it, but I put my arm around her. She lays her head on my shoulder in response. It feels good to hold her.

The movie end credits roll that was great the kids had really gotten into it. Charlie stands and clears his throut.

"We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!"

We all cheer and then start laughing. Amazingly we didn't wake the babies. Jenny lays Elisa in her bassinet. I put Mary and Frankie in the playpen. I look up and she's gone. I see a note.

It read.

There's a change of clothes in the downstairs bathroom for you and your kids. Then everyone meet me in the backyard
Love Jenny

We all wander into the yard there are several squirt guns and a note: I'm already armed. We all dash for a weapon and out comes Jenny laughing and I'm her first target and the water war begins. It continues until we are all soaked and the refill tub is nearly empty. Finally She calls a hault the littlest ones have had enough. She hands out towels and we start to dry off. I look up hearing barking Jenny had told me about the mastiffs she had brought home. They are huge i thought she said they were still pups. I look to see what they have found. What they found was a man with a camera in a near by tree. Fuck that's all I need Donna knowing I brought Frankie to Jenny's house. Jenny looks up and smirks.

"Oh god look out there's a snake in that tree." She shouts. The guy freaks out dropping his camera as he scrambles down. It breaks on the rocks below the tree. She laughs as she calls her dogs away. I can hear him cussing over his camera and the fact the film was exposed.

"I believe she was referring to you dude." I laugh and follow my family inside to change.

The kids didn't want to leave and neither did I so we stayed and barbecued. We finished off the night by watching the distant fireworks being set off around LA from her balcony. The kids and I also decided we were to tired to go home tonight.

It wasn't hard to get everyone to sleep, amazingly enough even the babies cooperated. I now lay in a bed across the hall from Jenny. Sleep was not happening for me, all I could think of was the sweet woman in the other room. I roll over in frustration and groan. Staying over was not a good idea. I give in and get out of bed. I head straight for Jenny. I ease onto the bed and softly touch her cheek.

"Jenny," I whisper. I watch her slowly open her eyes. I know we can't make love it's to soon after. "I need to hold you."

"Nikki," she sighs at first I think she is going to send me away. But she whimpers and pulls me close and brushes her lips against mine. She pulls away gently and unbuttons her shirt. Unfastening her bra she lets it fall open. I tug her close and latch on. Her milk is so sweet.
