Peter stayed at the hotel with the twins while Olivia took the kids to the mall as soon as it opened. She called Amanda and asked her to meet them there, and the blonde detective was confused about why they were at the mall the day after Olivia and the twins came home.

"There she is," Noah mumbled since his mouth was full of a biscuit, egg, and bacon sandwich from one of the restaurants in the food court. Olivia looked over her shoulder and waved at Amanda until she noticed them.

"Hey, what's happening?" Amanda asked as she sank down onto the chair beside Noah.

"Okay, so please don't freak out." Olivia started, as Hadley reached out for Amanda. Amanda took the small girl before nodding slowly.

"Okay... what can't I freak out?" Amanda asked.

"Our house caught on fire last night and burned down. We lost everything." Olivia breathed.

"Why didn't you call me?! I could have come and got you guys or took the kids!" Amanda exclaimed.

"Because it was late and I didn't know what to do. I just took the kids to a hotel and we are staying there until we can find a place to rent or something." Olivia spoke.

"What do you need me to do?" Amanda asked as she cuddled Hadley close.

"I need you to help me get some stuff for the kids today. We have to clothes for the twins, Hadley, Noah, Peter, and myself. Then the kids need some toys and like shampoo and stuff like that." Olivia breathed, and Amanda nodded.

"Okay, I'll help you do whatever you need to get done. Noah, I'm really sorry." Amanda spoke, and Noah frowned and nodded.

"I lost Ellie's mitt, Aunt Amanda." Noah frowned.

"I'm really sorry, honey." Amanda frowned. She took a hand away from Hadley and mussed up Noah's hair.

"Momma said that we will make it through this because we have each other," Noah spoke bravely.

"And we will make it through this. I promise you that." Olivia said with a tired smile. Amanda could see how hard this was for her, and she was hoping that they could make it through this easily.

---

Amanda helped Olivia and the kids get what they needed then she followed them back to the hotel room. She helped carry everything in before taking a few minutes to hold the twins while Peter and Olivia got the kids changed and then handed them the few toys that they had bought them.

"So, how did it happen?" Amanda questioned quietly.

"I left a burner on in the kitchen. Olivia and I had gotten into a fight and she left with the kids and I left too because I was angry. I had just forgotten about it." Peter frowned.

"Oh god... I'm so sorry guys." Amanda frowned as she swayed a bit with the twins in her arms.

"So I'm going to go and get dressed. Then I'm heading to the agency I used to rent my apartment and I'll see if we can get a place sent up soon. Then I think I'm going to find us another hotel room here or somewhere close so we can at least sleep in a bed." Peter spoke.

"I'll stay around to help with the kids," Amanda spoke, and Peter smiled.

"Thanks, Amanda. I love you, Liv." Peter spoke, before stepping over and kissing the corner of his wife's mouth gently.

"I love you too, babe. I'll see you later."

---

Peter stopped to get himself something to eat for lunch when Kathryn called him. He answered his phone hesitantly.

"Your house is all ash now and it's smoking still." She breathed.

"I forget that I left the burner on. We lost everything." Peter replied.

"Did any of you get hurt?" Kathryn asked, worriedly.

"No, we are all good. I'm going to try and rent a place for us all because right now we are staying in a small hotel room and Liv and I slept in chairs tonight." Peter sighed.

"I'm so sorry. Let me meet up with you." Kathryn spoke.

"Us seeing each other had caused this all. Liv doesn't want us to see each other because we were dating for a while and we were planning on getting married. So I'm going to just give you my blessings then I have to just focus on my family completely."

"Peter, I miss you. I miss having you be my best friend. I miss being able to talk to you."

"I don't miss you, honestly. Because what you said about Olivia while you and I were together was horrible. I'm sorry, but Olivia is the only one I want to be with and focus on. So please, please lose my number. I'm sorry." Peter breathed.

Kathryn hung up on him, but Peter didn't care. He was never going to make a mistake like talking to Kathryn again because he didn't want to hurt Olivia once more.

---

When Peter went back to the hotel room, Noah, Hadley, and Amanda were across the street at the park. He checked on the kids before going back to the hotel to see Olivia.

When he got into the hotel room, he found his wife sleeping on the bed. He could see how exhausted she looked and he found himself sinking down beside her and drawing her close.

"Did you get us a place?" Olivia yawned as she rested her head in the crook of his neck.

"I got us a nice apartment near the precinct. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a courtyard with a play area and it has an elevator so it'll be easier with four kids." Peter spoke, as he rubbed her back.

"Thank you, Peter. I hope that eventually, we can get a house again, but until then I just want to make sure we can all be together. I don't want to spend another day fighting with you or staying in this small room." Olivia whispered since the twins were sleeping.

"We move in tomorrow morning. I'm going to go out and order some furniture and hopefully, it can be delivered tomorrow."

"The twins' and Hadley's room was perfect. I loved how our house was." She whimpered.

"I know, and I promise you that we will have your dream house once again. And I will try every day to make this up to you."

"Just don't leave me for Kathryn..."
