Echo alive part 3

Nara slipped into her form fighting mandolorian armour, making sure to smooth out the rough edges. cocking her pistols she shoved them into their holster on her belt. she then proceeded to tighten her belt around her waist and legs making them secure, and adjusted the straps on her boots. Nara quickly tightened her hair into a tight braided bun at the back of her head. She then proceeded to look into to the mirror to inspect her appearance. Havoc would have been proud by how professional she looked in her uniform, the only that was missing was her helmet. It laid on top of her bed like a cat taking a nap. She picked up the familiar helmet and traced her hand over the bright jaig eyes that gave her, her mark.

"I hope to do you proud brother" she smiled knowing what havoc would say.

"Dam you can dress up spitfire" wrecker laughed as Nara walked towards the group.

"What, am I not this amazing looking everyday"

"I wouldn't say amazing more like trash panda in a helmet" Fives teased.

"Hey"

The group laughed, but they had to admit that she looked beyond professional and they weren't the only ones who agreed. Harvey had decided to see Anakin and the others off personally. More then anything he wanted to make sure the group would be mentally prepared for their mission. But when he saw Nara in her get up he knew they were not fooling around.

"Good luck men, may the force be with you all"

"Thank you sir"

They all walked towards the ship but Harvey Stoped her before she entered the ships entrance.

"I hope you find your brother"

"Thank you, sir"

And with that she walked away

"What was that about" Rex inquired

"What was what"

"Don't play dumb what did he say to you"

"Oh come on Rex your not my dad"

"I may as well be with you and Fives"

"So you do agree that we're your toddlers! Kix will be glad to hear it"

Rex sighed.

"Nara"

"I agree with the captain what was that about" hunter smuged.

"Nothing just talking about the mission"

"Yah right, he was probably asking her to marry him" Jesse cooed.

"HE WAS NOT "! She squeaked .

The men around her laughed clearly amused by their younger sisters reaction. Even crosshair seemed slightly amused. Anakin who was checking on tech( who was flying the ship), walked in hearing the remainder of the conversation. He couldn't help a chuckle that slipped out of his lips, especially since he knew how Harvey felt about his trooper. He remembered questioning Harvey's sudden interest on Nara and was more than thrilled to hear that Harvey had developed a crush. And being Anakin he tortured the poor man about it especially when she was around. Now that he knew the men saw it too he couldn't hide back his glee.

(Couple of hours later)

In the first couple of hours Nara and the men had been attacked by humungous beasts, faced a native species who at first wanted them dead, then didn't. Had Rex attack crosshair, which resulted in Nara and Anakin breaking up the fight. Even though she wanted to put crosshair thirty feet down into the ground for his comment on echo. Engaged the battle droids even though it was suppose to be a stealth mission, and yet they were still alive. Could go much worse could it, oh yes it could.

They were pinned down outside of the hall were Echos signal was coming from.

"Get inside you three we haven't got all day" cross hair growled.

"Hey captain I hope you find what your looking for" hunter nodded.

Rex nodded.

"Nara ,tech your with me. Move it".

The room inside was quite except for the constant sound of machines buzzing and sending out signals. But what caught their eyes was a tube in the far centre of the room. Inside lauded a human like figure, but it wasn't all human. The three troopers came closer cautiously towards the structure cautiously, even though tech had determined it was were the signal was coming from they were taking no chances.

With a couple pushes of buttons tech was able to open the capsule. It's hinges hissed as steam poured out of it iron ribs. But way it held inside nearly brought Nara to her knees.

Echo.

He was half machine half human. Were his legs should have been were large mechanical structures that came out of his legs like the legs of a droid. His right arm had been replaced by a mechanical one, and his spin was a mechanical twist of knots and wires hooked up to the machine.

"My dear god what have they done to you" Rex looked at his bother with horror.

Nara felt her stomach lurch, they had turned the person she loved into no more than a mechanical monster.

"He hooked up to the machine we need to get him off it, think I almost got just another...got it"! Tech hit a button and echo collapsed into both Rex and Nara's shaking arms.

"Rexxx" echo groaned.

"I'm hear brother"

"What, what happened the mission, I tired to get to the ship but"

"I know, but your safe know"

Echo turned his head to the right and finally stared Nara into the eyes. It took everything not to cry in that moment. The brother she had known for so long was hardly the same when she had left him. His thick almost black hair was gone replaced by a few wires that attached him to the machine. His once alive eyes now glazed over in a dull grey. His gentle features now harden by metal and bolts. She was enraged by what they had done, and she vowed never to show mercy to another separatist again.

"Nara"?

"Yes brother"

"You made it, you saved us"

"I'm here brother, I'll never let you down again"
