Song of the Chapter: Turn off the Lights by Panic! At the Disco

Anna's POV

It was time to get onstage. I had spent the whole day being paranoid and never left Tyler's side. Only when he went to go meet Jenna and then go find their seats. When he did that, I didn't leave Dallon's side.

I was halfway through my set and I was starting to calm down a little, still on edge but not as much. I looked around the venue when my eyes lay upon him. Liam. He looked much older but I could still tell it was him. I feel my breathing hitch in my throat but I push past it and rush my set. Not speaking for as long as I usually did before each song.

As soon as I finished my last song, I walked as quickly as I could backstage.
"Are you ok?" Dallon says, concerned.
"Yep. Definitely." I say and he couldn't asks me anymore questions because he had to go on stage.

Tyler's POV

I loved listening to Anna sing. Her first song, you could tell something was up but after a while she relaxed and seemed to be enjoying herself. But in the middle of her second last song, she stopped. But only for a very brief second that you would probably only pick up on if you were paying attention. She looked liked she had seen something she didn't like. She rushed her last song and as quickly as she could, she walked off stage. While everyone was cheering for her, Jenna whispers to me.

"Did she seem ok?"
"I don't know."
"Did something happen?"
"Well her biological father has escaped prison and she's, obviously, not taking it well." I whisper worried, when something clicked in my brain. "I'll be back. I'm just going to check on her."
My wife nods as I walk back to the back room. The door was shut so I softly knock on it.
"Anna? You in there?"
There was no reply so I slowly and quietly open the door.

I walk in and she was pacing around the room, muttering to herself, wringing her hands together. I walk over to her and calmly place a hand on her shoulder. She jumps in the air and makes eye contact with me.
"Are you ok? What happened?"
She starts breaking down crying. I hold her in a hug while she cries.
"He's here." She says between sobs.
"Liam?"
"Y-yes."
"Ok. You're safe he can't get back here."
"My m-mum did in P-Perth."
"There's better security here. I promise you. We got more security when we found about him."
"Why is he here Tyler? Why is he here?"
"I don't know A."
"I c-can't breather Ty-Tyler. Anxiety. I-it's too m-much."
"I know. Come here." We sit on the couch. "Follow my breathing ok? Take in one deep breath and hold for 3 seconds and then let it out slowly."
We do that a few times.
"There you go. You got it. You are safe. I'm not going anywhere. I'm right here."
"I don't want him to take me." She says quietly.
"He won't. I promise. I won't let him."
I pull her in close while she focuses on keeping her breathing even.

I check the time and see that they would have finished their set soon.

To Jenna: when it's finished, we're in the backstage room. Can you get here or do you need me to come get you?
From Jenna: I'll be fine. Just stay with Anna
To Jenna: ok and can you please call the police when you can. Liam is in the audience

Dallon soon runs into the room, sweat pouring off him.
"What happened?" He says calmly.
"Liam's here." I say.
"How? Why would he come to a public space when he is being looked for?"
"I don't know."
"Anna are you ok?"
"I am now. I saw him while I was playing and when I finished playing, the anxiety got too much and I had a panic attack." She says quietly.
"Do you need anything?"
"I'm ok. I want to sleep."
"Ok but you need to call Brendon and talk to him. He knows about Liam escaping and is worried about you."
"Ok. I will."
