Anna's POV

James comes into my room.
"Are you ok?"
I hold my arms open, silently asking for a hug. He gets the idea and gives me one.
"I'm sorry." I mutter.
"No it's ok. Are you ok?"
"I wanted to relapse that's all." I mutter and he hugs me tighter.
"I'm so glad you didn't. I'm proud of you."
"I'm sorry, you shouldn't have to deal with my shit. You should be hanging out with Peter or something. Not dealing with my mess of a mind."
"Hey, back up a bit," he softly lifts my head up so I'm looking into his eyes, "you are gorgeous and amazing and I don't mind all this at all. You're talented, sweet, kind. I love you Anna."
I smile and snuggle up to him.
"I love you too, thank you."

James goes home a few hours later and dad comes up to check on me.
"You feeling better?"
"Yeah. Thank you."
"Of course darling. Do you know what tomorrow is?"
"No?"
"It's your birthday."
I lean over and turn my phone on, sure enough it was the day before my birthday.
"Oh."
"You ok?"
"Yeah. I'm going to sleep."
"Ok. Love you." He kisses my forehead and I shut my eyes.

"Anna!" I hear them say.
"W-what?
"A? Who is that?" Dad asks me, worry in his voice.
I can't make any words come out of my mouth, I couldn't breathe, my heartbeat jumped to my throat.
"Anna?" Josh asks calmly.
"B-bio m-m-mum" I stuttered out.
"Come here darling give your mum a hug"
I step backwards, absolutely terrified. I shake my head.
"Come on love. I know you missed me"
"Please leave the premises" Patrick says.
"No. I'm here to see my daughter, come here" she holds out her arms.
"Go away. Y-you c-can't be here" I say shaking.
"Don't talk to your mother like that"
"You aren't my mum. She is" I point over at Sarah.
"She didn't give birth to you. I did. Therefore I am your mother"
"No. You may of given birth to me, but you never treated me well. Sarah treats me a million time better than you ever did"
She evilly smiles.
"I should of killed you when I had the chance. You useless, worthless little shit." She pulls out a knife and aims it towards me. I stand there, like a deer stuck in the headlights.
Zack and three other security guys jump at her.
"You are worthless! Stupid! Everyone hates you! Your so-called 'parents' are going to give you up! All those band mates hate you! Its all for publicity! Fucking kill yourself if I can't! You don't deserve any of this!"

I start screaming. Every year on my birthday I've had the same nightmare since I was 13. The time where my bio mother came to see me while on tour. The time when my mind completely took over. The time when I completely shut down and stopped talking.

I suddenly stop screaming when I realise that it's 3 am and I had probably woken up mum and dad. Sure enough, dad comes in and sees my tear stained face and immediately knew what happened.
"Shh, you're ok. She's not here. You're safe I promise. You aren't going anywhere."

It was 5 am and I was still shaking. I don't know why, I was normally ok after about 20 minutes. Dad has been trying to calm me down for the last two hours. Dad tells me he will be back in a second, he was just getting his phone. While he does that, I crawl up into a ball and try to calm down but I kind of just get more worked up.
"Anna?" I hear Gerard's voice through the phone. I look up to see dad holding out his phone with Gerard on the other end. It was on speaker so I hold it in my shaky hand.
"Hello?"
"Hey are you ok? What happened?"
"That stupid nightmare. It's just worse this year round. I've been here shaking and crying into dad for the last 2 hours."
"Ok are you comfortable?"
"I guess."
"Ok. Now I want you to lay down and take a deep breath in and out. I want you to know that you are safe, she's not going to get you. Ok? You are here in Brendon's arms, safe, protected and loved."
He talks to me and dad runs his hand through my hair. And with both of those things, I finally calm down and fall back asleep.
