Anna's POV

"It's all your fault. I wish I never adopted you, I can't even create one song because you're always interrupting."
"I'm sorry dad."
"Don't call me dad, I will never be your dad."

Awsten's POV

I walk downstairs to the kitchen where Otto was helping himself to some cereal.
"Good morning."
"Morning Awsten." I make some coffee while Otto eats.
"Hey, is Anna ok?"
"Yeah I think so."
"She was crying before she came her wasn't she?"
"Yeah, her and Zack got into a fight."
"Zack Hall?"
"Yeah."
"What happened?"
"That's not my place to say but all is good now."
"Alright." He smiles and looks at his phone.
"Hey man, I'm gonna go now thanks for letting me stay."
"Anytime."

He leaves and I sit quietly drinking my coffee, as to not disturb Anna who was in the guest bedroom.

"I'm sorry." I hear sobbing in the other room so I get up to investigate. I knock on the door.
"Anna?"
There was no response so I slowly open the door to find Anna sitting up, curled up and crying.
"Anna? Are you ok?"
"I'm ok." She cries.
"No you aren't what happened? Can I sit next to you?"
She nods and I sit on the bed next to her. I wrap an arm around her shoulders while she cries.
"Hey it's alright you're safe." I say soothingly.
"Why are you all so nice? I don't deserve it."
"What are you talking about? Of course you deserve it you are an amazing girl."
"I'm sorry."
"Anna stop apologising."
"Ok."

Her cries soon turned to sniffs and she sits up.
"I-"
"Don't you dare apologise." I smile, "want to talk about what happened though?"
"It was just a really vivid dream of dad yelling at me saying that I was always in the way and I was the reason there's been no music. Then he said that he'll never be my dad and that he wished he never adopted me."
"Oh Anna you know none of that's true."
"I know but I can't help but to think that."
"Your father loves you so much I promise you."
"I know."

"Come on, let's put a smile on that face and get coffee." I suggest and she gives a small smile.

Anna's POV

I brush my hair and change my clothes and I meet Awsten in the kitchen. We get in his car and I think of somewhere.
"Hey where are we going?"
"Starbucks?"
"Can we go to a little cafe on Magnet Road?"
"Sure."

I smile as we start driving towards the cafe that my boyfriend worked at. But he normally didn't work on Thursdays so I wasn't expecting him to be there.

"What would you like Anna?"
"Uh just an iced coffee please."
"Alright."

"Next please." A young man says tiredly. We walk up to the counter.
"How can I help you?" They didn't look up but I caught sight of the name badge.
"I'd like for you to be happy please buddy." I say sternly and he looks up.
"Anna!"
"Hello James, didn't know you were working today."
"I wasn't but I got called in because someone was sick. Oh hello Awsten how's it going?"
"Awesome thanks."
"What can I get for you?"
"Uh just an iced coffee and a regular coffee." Awsten says and hands over the money. James smiles and hands him the change and tells us it will be ready soon.

Awsten and I find a seat and he smiles at me.
"You look happier."
I just nod and look over at my boyfriend making coffee.

Soon James comes over with our coffee and two muffins. He takes a seat next to me and wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me close, kissing my cheek.
"How's it going?"
"Good. How's work?"
"Bleh, manager keeps yelling at me."
"Why?"
"I don't know."
"Shouldn't you get back to work so you don't get yelled at, as much as I love you."
"I told her that I'm going on my break so I'm in the clear." He hands me a muffin.
"We didn't buy these?"
"Shh."
"Thanks James." Awsten laughs and James just grins. I start picking at the muffin, still thinking about the dream and last night.
