Song of the Chapter: Ode to Sleep by Twenty One Pilots

Anna's POV

"Anna!"
"Hello dad and Mum and James." I say hugging them all.
"Are you ok?"
"Yes dad I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Awsten? Otto? Geoff?"
"She's ok. The doctor just said she needs to rest." Awsten tells dad.

"Wait. Doctor? Anna, what did you do?"
I kiss James.
"I'm ok."
"What happened?"
"I just passed out that's all."
"Why?!"
"Don't worry it's not because I didn't eat don't worry."
"So what happened then?"
"I'd rather not talk about it now."
"Ok."

I hug Geoff, Awsten and Otto to say goodbye.
"Thank you. I had a lot of fun."
"I'm glad. You're an amazing musician and I want to hear more of your stuff." Otto says.
I beam and nod.

We get in the car and after dropping James off, I finally get home. I hug the dogs and play with them before dad tells me to come into the lounge room.

"Explain."
I sigh.
"It wasn't because I stopped eating, you can ask Awsten or Geoff or Otto. I ate everyday."
"I've been told and I'm so proud of you so why did you collapse?"
"I didn't sleep." I mumble. "My body passed out from exhaustion."
"A, why wouldn't you sleep?"
"Because of my past dad! Ok? You were right. I can't cope being back there! My past still haunts me! Even after 4 years." I start crying and dad moves closer to me and hugs me. I cry for a bit into his shoulder. "You were right."
"Shh it's ok don't think about that now." He rubs my back.
"Why can't I escape my past dad?"
"I don't know A. But you will, one day and I will never leave you."

"Why don't you try and get some sleep?"
I shrug my shoulders.
"I'll come with you darling."
He follows me up the stairs and tucks me in the my sheets. Mum comes in with a glass of water and my meditation that I gave up on taking.
"I don't want it."
"Please just try it."
"You stopped taking your medication." I protest to dad.
"That was different. I wasn't dealing with what you were. If you really don't want to take it you can not take it later down the track but for now please take it."
I take it and he hugs me.
"Well done darling, goodnight."
"Goodnight dad."
Mum gives me a hug too and they shut the door, leaving me alone.

After tossing and turning for a few hours I finally fall asleep.

Brendon's POV

"What do we do?"
"We can't do anything. She has to be open about accepting help."
"I know but I just want to help her."
"So do I babe but it's up to her." I kiss Sarah and she nods. She goes upstairs to bed and I go out to my studio. I had a deadline to meet for my new music and if I didn't meet it, there was a chance I would loose my record deal. My manager wasn't very happy I left New York without attending the meeting and Zack was pissed to say the least. When he finally turned up, he yelled at me for an hour before leaving again.

After a few hours of songwriting, I decided to go live because I had had enough.

"Hey my vros how are you?"

Hiii
Where's Anna
How are you and your family?

"Anna is upstairs asleep, she got back from Australia a few hours ago. My family and I are great thanks."

"Bye my vros. I love you all and you guys are amazing."

I check the time to see it was 2 am so I go upstairs and quietly have a shower before laying down next to Sarah and falling into a comforting slumber.

My slumber was soon disturbed some time later by a scream. I knew before my eyes were open that it was Anna. Sarah also wakes up and looks at me panicked.
"It's A. I'll be back." She nods as I creep out of our room and down the hall.
