Song of the Chapter: Small Cuts by The Brobecks

Anna's POV

Because the drive was 20 hours long, we stayed on the bus all day. Dallon and Ryan Both tried to get me out of my bunk all day and join them in the living space, but I wasn't in the mood at all.

Dallon's POV

I was worried about her, she was refusing to move from her bunk, she was refusing to eat. I decided to call Brendon to see how I could help her.

"Hey Dallon. Everything ok?"
"I'm worried about Anna, she hasn't left her bunk, she won't have a conversation and she won't eat. I don't know how to help her."
"Ok. Thanks for calling me. Where are you?"
"On our way to Colorado."
"Ok I think My Chem is in Colorado or at least nearby. I'll give Gerard a call to find out. Hopefully he can come to you and talk to her. Can you pass the phone to her?"
"Yeah sure."

"Anna?" I say, sliding the curtain back, "Brendon wants to talk to you."
She nods and takes my phone. I walk back to the living area but I could hear parts of her conversation.

"Hey dad."
"I'm ok."
"Sorry."
"No."
"I can't dad."
"Please don't make me."
"I don't."
"I'm sorry."

After a few minutes she calls me and hands the phone back. I walk back to the living area.

"Please make her eat Dallon I don't really care what it is just something. I don't want her to end up back in hospital."
"What do I do?"
"Just make sure she knows she's safe, get her to eat and I'll see where My Chem is."
"Ok. Thank you Brendon."
"Thank you for calling Dallon."

We hang up and I walk back to Anna.
"Hey how's it going?"
She shrugs.
"Would you like something to eat?"
"No."
"Please."
"You spoke to dad. Didn't you?"
"He's worried about you kid."
"I can't eat Dal. Please don't force me." She pleads.
"Not right now but later ok?"
"Fine."

From Brendon: yep I was correct. Gerard's going to come to your tour bus when you get there
To Brendon: thank you. We aren't going to get there until about 3 am
From Brendon: Alright I'll let him know

We pull pull up to the hotel at 4 am. Anna hadn't moved from her bunk. I got her to eat a granola bar but that was it. I heard her talking to James earlier but I think she was pretending that everything was fine because she was saying things like "tours great, I'm great. Everything is fine."
We walk to the hotel room we were staying in. Anna asked me quietly if she could not be alone and I agreed and got a room with two beds. We both fell asleep very quickly but about 2 hours later she woke up crying.

"Anna? Hey it's ok it's me, Dallon. I'm here you're ok." I get up and sit next to her on the bed. I place my arm around her and pull her in close. I wasn't sure what to do, sure I've experienced kids have nightmares but that was my own children who are young and are dreaming about things that they don't need to worry about, never about an adult who treated them so badly to the point where they can't function.
"I'm sorry Dallon." She sobs.
"Shh it's ok. It's ok just calm yourself down and we can talk about it if you want."
She cries and I could see her small body shaking. I rub her back until she's not shaking anymore.
"Want to talk about it?"
"No, I'm so sorry Dallon I should of known this was going to happen and not asked to not be alone or at least not fallen asleep."
"Don't apologise. You have to sleep and I'm glad you weren't alone you shouldn't feel like you have to struggle with this alone. We want to help you ok?" She nods and snuggles into my shoulder, just like she did when she was 14.

Anna had fallen back asleep and so had I. I was woken up by Ryan knocking on the door at about 10 am.
"Hey. She ok?"
"I don't know. She woke up from a nightmare at about 6 and I stayed up with her until she fell asleep at about 7:30."
"Will she be ok to perform tonight?"
I just shrug. I hoped Gerard would be able to help her.
"Anyway man. We have to be at the venue by 12."
"Ok thanks man. I'll meet you downstairs soon."
He nods and walks back to his room.
