Song of the Chapter: Don't You Worry Child (cover) by Conor Maynard
Brendon's POV
Sarah, James and I all walk into Anna's hospital room. I was expecting to see her in the same position she had been for the past few days; sitting or laying on her bed, listening to music with a blank facial expression. However, when we walked in we all heard her sweet voice along with a ukulele sound.
"Anna?" Sarah says and she turns around and smiles, a genuine smile too not a forced one like her other ones.
"Hey."
"Hey, how's it going?" I ask confused at the sudden change in mood.
"Alright, you?"
"Yeah good thanks. What's up?" Sarah and I occupy the chairs while James sits on the bed with her. He wraps his arm around her shoulders and she leans into him, kinda adorable if you ask me.
"Not much."
"A, what happened?" James says.
"What do you mean?"
"Well you were so sad and silent, you didn't speak or eat for like 4, 5 days."
"I guess-"
"Hello Brendon, Sarah and James." We all turn to see Becca.
"Hello." I say.
"Brendon, Sarah can we talk?"
"Sure." I nod and the three of us step out of the room.
"So, you may have notice a chance in Anna's mood."
"Yeah, what happened? She spent the last few days so sad and stuff, now she's seems almost normal."
"Your friend Tyler came and visited her and it seems that that helped improve her mood."
I nod and smile. Good old Tyler.
"So what happens now?"
"Well, we are going to keep Anna here under observation just to make sure that this isn't just a once off thing before she acts on an impulsive thought. But if all is well in a few days, I don't see why she couldn't be allowed to go home."
"Thank you so much." Sarah says and I just nod happily. Becca smiles and lets us go back to Anna. Before we go in, I hug Sarah.
"Everything is ok Bren."
"I know."
We turn to walk back into Anna's room and I pull out my phone.
To Tyler: thank you
From Tyler: what for?
To Tyler: I don't know but whatever you did, you got Anna eating and talking again. Thank you
"No problem." I look up to see Tyler. I wrap him in a hug and I start crying a little. I had spent the last week being so worried about Anna and knowing that she was getting better, put my mind at ease.
"Thank you Tyler."
"It's no problem Brendon, I'm just glad that she's feeling better." He looks me in the eye and smiles. I wipe the stray tears away and walk into her room.
"Hey Anna."
"Tyler!" She smiles and bounces up to hug him.
"Hey kiddo, how's it going?"
"Good."
"I'm glad."
Anna's POV
"Thank you for coming yesterday." I whisper so only he could hear.
"No problem I'm just glad you're feeling better." He smiles and I sit back next to James. I actually was feeling better, it was crazy. My mood shifted from not speaking and wanting to die to actually feeling ok.

"Anna, you have made a lot of progress these last few days, if you keep this up you should be allowed to go home on Monday."
"Really?"
"Yes, I suggest that you keep doing therapy sessions but that's something to discuss with your parents."
"Ok, thank you Becca."
"No problem Anna. I'm glad you have been opening up."
I smile and she lets me go back to my room. Monday was 2 days before Christmas, if I could be home before Christmas that would be amazing. I hum to myself, not realising Pete was behind me.
"Boo."
"Ah oh hello."
"Hey." He laughs. "How's it going?"
"I might be allowed to go home on Monday."
"Really? That's awesome."
"Yeah. But I dunno."
"What's up?"
"It's just I know mum and dad, especially dad, will be watching my every move. I know they are just scared and worried but it stresses me out."
He nods thoughtfully.
"That's bound to happen you can try talking to him but he's still going to worry."
"I know anyway how are you?"
"Yeah good."
"How's your family?"
"They're good."
