Anna's POV

2 days. And still no changes. I had been visiting James from the moment dad or Mum woke up to whenever dad or Gerard would drag me out of the hospital room. I hadn't seen too much of James' parents. The police were investigating but because they only had James' note and his parents words, they couldn't do much.

It was currently 5 am and I couldn't sleep. I had barely slept and when I did, it wasn't very long before I was woken but either seeing James on the floor or my own cuts from my past. Dad always checked up on me every 10 minutes as if I was under watch so I wouldn't harm myself. I was thankful for that though, I had come close a few times.

My door opens and dad was there.
"Oh good you're awake."
"Why?"
"James is awake."

3 words I've been dying to hear. I leap out of bed and throw my hoodie on.
"Is he ok?"
"The hospital called a few minutes ago to say that he is awake and ok." Dad smiles warmly.
I was crying happy tears. Dad tells mum where we are going and asked if she was coming but she was going to sleep because she had to go do something early in the morning. Dad drives us to the hospital and I run up the stairs, knowing the elevator would take longer. Dad was behind me telling me to slow down but I wasn't. My boyfriend was awake and I wanted to see him. I stop outside his door, not going in yet. There were many doctors and nurses in there so I walk over to the nurses desk.

"Is he ok? You called my father saying he was awake."
Dad walks up behind me and places a hand on my shoulder.
"He's ok and well." A doctor says behind me. "You can see him."

I walk in to the room I had been in for the last 3 days except this time, I could see James' eyes and he was moving.
"Anna." He says quietly. He holds his arms open and I lay carefully on top of him, hugging him. I cry softly as he pats my hair.
"It's ok, I'm ok."
"Don't do that again. Please you scared me." I hiccup.
"I'm sorry."
I was still hugging him, dad had sat on the chair.
"How did you find out?" He asked.
"She was the one that found you." Dad says quietly.
"Oh god. Anna I'm sorry you shouldn't of had to see that."
"I was so scared. Why didn't you talk to me? That's why you took me out that day, isn't it?"
"Yes. I'm sorry I wanted my last memory to be an amazing one, spending it with you."
"I told the police."
"You read my note?"
"Mhm. Peter found it. You should've told me before you did this James. I would've helped you."
"I didn't know how to tell you."
"Please don't do that again. I almost lost you. I can't loose you."
"You won't."

He makes me lay down next to him and I lay down being wary of the IV chord. He keeps patting my hair.
"The nurse said you where here all day everyday?"
"She was, as soon as Sarah or myself woke up she made us drop her off and she wouldn't leave unless I dragged her out." Dad laughs softly.
"Thank you for staying with me."
"Of course. Your parents clearly didn't."
"Did you see them? Do they know?"
"They know and yeah I met them."
"Oh god I'm sorry. You shouldn't of met them this way."
"It's fine."
"How did they react? Did you tell them that you're my girlfriend?"
"Yeah I told them."
"What happened?"
"Nothing."
"Nonsense I know something happened."
"It's fine. Don't worry about it."
"Please baby."
"Anna? Are you ok?" Dad speaks up.
"Mhm."
"Brendon what happened?"
"They kicked her out of the room and blamed her."

I wish dad didn't do that. I didn't want James to know. He didn't need that as well.

"A I'm sorry. Please, please, please don't listen to them. This wasn't your fault not even in the slightest. Ok? You made me feel better and forget about them when I was with you. It was just too much that night. Ok? I'm sorry."
I just nod my head and snuggle close to him, hiding my tears.
