A Strange New Power

I hid the note in the drawer under the window, while standing up I closed the window and drew the curtains. I had no intentions of telling him of the man, he'd just get worried, instead I laid in bed with him, "Slender, what do I do if I'm kidnapped again, they'd keep more of a guard on me because of the last escape, what do I do?" Slender put his arms around me,
"You are new, I'm sure you have something else special besides being a shadow wolf," I nodded, "you'll start training tomorrow," I snuggled into him letting his warmth transfer to me. "Oh and Jeff said he's sorry," he whispered to me,
"Mmhmm," I mumbled before drifting of.

I woke up and turned around in bed only to find a empty space and wrinkled sheets, he must be out killing. I forced myself to get out of the warm bed, glancing outside I noticed something, oh great, it had snowed. I pulled on my black lace dress I always wore along with my wolf necklace, I started to wear my ring in my sleep after the whole Zalgo incident, I finished by doing my hair and slipping on some black leathery boots that went to my knee. I walked down to the kitchen Midnight sat drinking hot chocolate, she glanced at me, "They all went to there killings," she stopped and took another drink, "I stayed back to keep you company," my ears went up,
"O-oh, y-you didn't-t h-have t-t-to d-d-do that-t," she could have gone killing and she stayed back for me, this is really starting to get embarrassing,
"Nah, don't worry about it, when they get back their going to train us both," my ears settled back down,
"Oh, okay," I managed to say without stuttering, "hey, umm, did you know there's this man, who stares at me through the window," Midnight looked caught off guard,
"Around what time?" She asked, leaning in a little,
"at about midnight,"
"There's a man who stares at my window at around 11,"
"I thought it was Zalgo's hunters again like the one who took me that one time, but why would he be staring at you too?" That's when a gleaming on her fingers caught my eye. A second ring. It looked almost the exact same but hers was blue, she noticed me staring at it,
"This? Oh dad gave it to me,"
"Dad gave one to me too, but mines red," she put her hand over her mouth,
"Mines blue, like you, and yours is red, like me,"
"Dad set us up to a death trap!" I nearly screamed. We would have talked further if it wasn't for the door opening and closing, me and Midnight froze in place, turning our heads towards the hall. Jeff emerged from the darkness holding Sally on his shoulder followed by everyone else chattering and making noise. "Ready to train?" Jeff asked looking at both of us,
"Oh course!" Midnight said, hopping of the bar stool,
"Yeah," I added doing the same. Jeff lead us to a open area in the snow, I shivered in my dress, slender wrapped his arms around me, making me blush but still be warm. "Slender, it's snowing, and my wolf form is usually black, everyone will notice me," he just shook his head, "it's fine just ignore it." When we reached the training area I looked around, there were no shadows to hide in, I looked up at Jeff, "we're can I hide?"
"No where," he answered, he turned back to everyone, "GO!" He yelled, at everyone. Me and Midnight stood there confused as everyone got into their fighting stance, soon I was being chased around, unable to hide, due to the lack of shadows. I had transformed when Jeff had started to run at me. My wolf hair had turned a pure white so I could blend in with the snow. Now I found myself laying on the ground, Jeff towering over at me, the world stood at a standstill, he brought his knife at me. "No!" I thought. I escaped into a newfound shadow and staying there. Everyone looked at me weird, they had all stopped running and was staring at the tree I was sitting under. The weird part was, there were no trees around us.
