(I know the title sounds dramatic lol, I was reading Pet Sematary and it broke me)
I had a chaotic morning lmao
My sister still has school and my mom was at work, and my dad was cutting the grass outside so I was keeping Athena company
I had finished everything I was gonna do on Animal Crossing so I was gonna make myself some breakfast before I showered
Athena always follows me around the house, especially when my dad isn't around, so naturally she followed me to the kitchen and watched me
There was a million things stacked on top of the eggs in the fridge so I had to pull it all out, grab the eggs, and put the things back in the fridge
As I was putting the ingredients back into the fridge, I heard a crack behind me
One of the eggs had rolled off the table lmfao
Athena and I had eye contact
We both rushed to the egg
I had to maneuver around the kitchen, grabbing paper towels and cleaning up the egg and throwing away the paper in the trash can, while also holding Athena back
I obviously didn't want Athena to eat a raw egg or the egg shell, but she eats absolutely everything she sees so I kept having to get between her and the egg and hold her back
Of course the trash can was full so I had to quickly try to shove the paper towels in there, and the egg smeared all over the trash can
So whenever I went back over to clean up the egg, I also had to make sure that Athena didn't lick the trash can or stick her head in it
That was chaotic XD I had to move so fast lol
So that's how my morning went lmao

I knew this was gonna happen!!
The rest of this chapter is Pet Sematary spoilers, so read with caution :>
At the very beginning of the book, Stephen King explains the birth of Pet Sematary, and he explains that there was this really busy road in front of the house they were staying in at the time
His son had started running towards the road, and he can't remember if he fell or if he caught him in time, but it was the scariest moment of his life
When I read that, I knew that was gonna be incorporated in the book!! I kept having this feeling that someone in the family was gonna die, and my hunch was Gage (the son)
I love how his death was just casually foreshadowed lmao
"-who know had less than two months to live-"
I knew it!! XD If you've read the book or seen the movie, please don't let me know if I'm right or not, but Louis is probably gonna be overwhelmed with grief and bury his son in the Pet Sematary to bring him back, and he's gonna end up becoming this monster and-
I really hope that happens lol
Ok it's a few hours later and I've come about 2/3 into the book (I've read the death and the funeral part, please don't tell me anything that happens after that :>)
Fuck my life
I don't think a book has ever left me feeling so utterly horrible
I cried for sooo long, and even though I've cried more to the Michael Vey series, it never left me feeling this awful T_T
But it's also really fascinating because grief is such a powerful emotion and I love seeing just how far it can push someone >w< Stephen King has written the grief and pain and regret so unbelievably realistically, it's seriously so unnerving
Like, you can't quite pull this off in a movie or a show. I've certainly never seen these emotions portrayed so well in a character before
What makes it even worse/better (depending on how you see it lol) is that it nearly happened to Stephen King himself >_< So I'm assuming he's just writing what he felt in the moment and how he imagined it would've been like if his son had actually been run over that day
Reading about the part where the son died, that seriously fucked with me. I don't know how I could live after being so close to saving my child, but not being fast enough, and watching them die in front of my eyes
I also fucking hate Rachel's dad :)
So yeah lol, this book has broken me and I'm not even finished with it yet XD I'm kinda scared to keep reading it, ngl
