I'm tired feeling unloved by the person I love..
I'm tired reaching something just to prove my worth..
IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE ANYMORE.
I know that my value is found only in You. But why do I keep on chasing it in this world?Sometimes, we need an unsugarcoated prayer. Something that is sincere. Something that expresses our real feelings. Have you prayed like this before?
Part of really living is being willing to face sadness. In your lamenting season, it's fine to lament. It's okay to cry out. It's actually Biblical.
These are some verses in the Bible that shows lament from the people of God:
Jeremiah 15:18 I am badly injured and in constant pain. Are you going to disappoint me, like a stream thay goes dry in the heat of summer?
Job 7:11,14-16 I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul... Then you scare me with dreams and terrify me with visions, so that I would choose strangling and death rather than my bones. I loathe my life.
Habakkuk 1:2 Our Lord, how long must I beg for your help before you listen? How long before you save us from all this violence?
Psalm 22:1-2 My God, my God? Why have you deserted me? Why are you so far away? Won't you listen to my groans and come to my rescue? I cry out day and night, but you don't answer, and I can never rest.
As a Christian, we are always told to be strong and courageous. We are always cheered to rejoice in the Lord at all times. And we must not show a single hint of discouragement because we think that showing how weak we are seems unspiritual and distraction of faith.
We must realize the meaning of 2 Corinthians 12:10 "When I am weak, I am strong."
The Bible never mandated that we should constantly act upbeat. When Jesus said "Come" it means come as you are. He wants you to come to Him in TRUTH.
The characters in the Bible serves as an example of this--- they don't whitewash their emotions as they cry out to God in anguish, in fear or in frustration when life ceases to make sense.
You know what's good in God? He sees you through. He knows you so much. He knows every single feeling you have. He knows what you really feel behind your pretension. You cannot hide anything from Him and the only thing you need to do is to be WHO YOU ARE.
You can both complain and cry, knowing that God can handle anything you say. The Lord just want you to talk to Him, to pour your heart and thoughts because He knows it already.
Just like what's mentioned above, the characters on the Bible mentioned their disappointments and voiced out their struggles before God which become their first step to healing.
Know that God understands you. You can be truthful to Him. Acknowledge your pain before God.
If you respond by actively refusing your mind, determined to have a positive attitude will just bring you to even emptier and unhappier than before because it's fake.
Let God:
☑️ The God of all comfort, comfort you.
☑️ The God of hope, fill you with hope.
☑️ The Man of Sorrows acquainted with grief, bear your sorrows.Remember: Pouring out your heart to God changes you!
You can experience true joy only after you have acknowledged your sorrow. You will find yourself in the deeper place with the Lord, who helps you reframe your dissapointments and pain.
Psalm 13:6 I will sing to the Lord because he has dealt bountifully with me.
Habakkuk 3:17-18 Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines... Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man who trust in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.
Whenever you pour out your heart to God in prayer, He doesn't rebuke. Actually He wants it. Your heart. Your honesty. Your humbleness before Him. Instead of rebuking you, He will sirround you! And makes you stronger!
He becomes a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. (Psalm 3:3)
Let's Pray? :)
Dear Lord,
Thank you for every pain. For every disappointment. For every thing that You allow in my life for this is Your purpose. Through this, you bring me closer to You. I knew You more.
Continue to comfort me Lord, whenever I feel down. And when the time comes that I have no one to turn to and I forget about You, may You reveal Yourself to me that I have a God who's always with me.
In Jesus' Name. Amen.Be honest to God.
Be healed.
Be strengthened!Shalom!
Glory be all to God! :)
