"I am a sojourner on the earth; hide not your commandments from me! My soul is consumed with longing for your rules at all times. You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones, who wander from your commandments." -Psalm 119:19-21

The moment that Gimel realized that he is just a sojourner in this world... The moment that he understood that he is just a wanderer in this planet... He began seeking the Word of God.

Because He knew that the Word of God is the path to life. He knew that through God's words, he will be able to walk into the way that will lead him to his real home.

Why is there a time that it seems like we don't have the guts to seek the Word of God? Why is there a times that we are not longing for His Words?

Simply because we are full of the world. And if we are full of the world, we cannot give a room for the Word of God. If we are full of the world, we will not be seeking of any other thing to fill us anymore, even the Word of God Himself.

Until we cannot understand. Until we cannot realized that this world is just temporary, you will not seek and find the thing that is for eternity which is the Lord alone.

Let us learn from Gimel's prayer...
We will long for God's Words if we really understood that nothing in this world could ever remain. As God said in His Word, "Heaven and earth will pass away but my Words will never pass away." (Matthew 24:35)

Would you wander from His Word?

Shalom!
