"In his kindness God called you to his eternal glory by means of Jesus Christ. After you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation." -1 Peter 5:10
Sufferings are just temporary. But the things in exchange to that is for eternal benefit!
Just like those SSS, PAG-IBIG or PhilHealth, you are not going to, it's just temporary. After you have fulfilled it, and you have reach your senior year, (60 propably), you may now enjoy its benefits FOR LIFETIME.
Same with the sufferings we are experiencing today, it's only for a while. It's just temporary. But what you can gain from it is a lifetime benefit.
The verse says it's just a little suffering, in Filipino konting pagtitiis.
You know what, this quarantine showed me that my little sufferings were:
- I'm not allowed to go to church
This is because of lockdown. But when MGCQ was approved, church gatherings were allowed but since I'm under age that time, I was still not allowed to attend.- set up of new normal
#1 wearing mask and face mask on public places which makes me so uncomfortable especially I am a sweaty person and Philippines is a tropical country. Imagine how my face whenever I am covered with face mask, I am also covered with sweat. Haha! But that's true.#2 Online Class which makes it so difficult for me to study. Aside from having a poor signal, I need to register my sim to unli-promos, which is not really unlimited, so I could cope up with our lessons.
We don't have wifi or internet connection, so I need to load my phone everytime I consumed my data or the unli-promo got expired. So expensive, and I am not from rich family.
But as the Bible says, it's all temporary in exchange to eternal benefit.
We must be willing to suffer because this is the Will of God, not for us to just suffer for nothing. This is where your revamp should undergo...
Revamp
- to make something better or like new again
- renovate, reconstructMy greatest suffering during those quarantine were the times that I am not allowed to go to church. I really want to, but the church must obey the government.
After all, we are not just a church that pleases the Lord but we also need to please the authorities in our country, it is alsonl a way to please the Lord. I really cried to God, I was broken.. I was asking God why can't He allow me? I thought that legal age was 18, I was 20 that time.
Why would I still can't attend? But you know, God revealed to me that there are certain season in your life where He would not be using the church for your process.
Don't misunderstood me, but this means that most of the times, your process is only between you and God. An intimate face-to-face with the Lord.
What will come after a little suffering?
1. RESTORATION
This isn't found inside the church. Many Christians thought that restoration is gain in constant attendance in Sabbath Day. But restoration is found in Christ alone.
God may sometimes use the church to help us be restored (our faith, our hope, our passion, our fire, etc.) but finding or depending your restoration in church is wrong!
