The root-cause of decreasing love for Jesus is abiding no more.
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love, if you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in His love. -John 15:9-10
Abide. Abide. Abide. When it is mentioned repeatedly, it means it is most important. When it is said for three times, it is most powerful.
✔️ God is a Trinitarian being (The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) --POWERFUL!
✔️ When two or three gathered in His name, He is in the center. (Matthew 18:20) ---POWERFUL!
✔️ A rope made of three strands of cord is hard to break (Ecclesiastes 4:12) ---POWERFUL!
John 15:9-10 is one powerful passage in the Bible emphasizing that when you abide in God, power is being release.
Look at this: God is not and never far away from you. It is you who is no longer abiding in Him. It is you that gives distance between you and God. Sa tao lang applicable ang social distancing, wag mo i-apply sa relasyon mo sa Lord. (Social distancing is onlt applied to humans, don't distance yourself to God as well)
Don't let one day skipped without abiding in God.
Don't let yourself be used to this habit of not abiding in God for every single day.Because if this will continue, you will die spiritually, your fire and your love for Him.
God is faithful when He said "I will never leave you nor forsake you." It is just always you who forgots and fails.
Abiding in the Love of God is not a law to follow but an invitation that must be accepted.
How to abide in the Love of God?
Remember: A.B.I.D.E.
✔️ A - Application of the Word
Yes, you are listening to His Words through preachings.
Yes, you are reading His Words through your Bible.
But the question is: Are you applying when you heard and read?
God is not demanding us to apply all of His commandments because He knew that no one could do that. No one could fully apply all His Words.
God is just after your heart to His Words. That even if your fail to apply His Words, your heart is still there for Him.
Your heart is willing enough to change for the better when you knew you have sinned. Your heart is repentant enough to turn your back from your wrong doings. Your heart is humble enough to admit that you've sinned and fall short of His glory.
Remember: Application of His Words without LOVE is nonsense.
If I could speak in any language in heaven or on earth but didn't love others, I would only be making meaningless noise like a loud gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I knew all the mysteries of the future and knew everything about everything, but didn't love others, what good would I be? And if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move, without love I would be no good to anybody. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn't love others, I would be of no value whatsoever. -1 Corinthians 13:1-3
