MOMENT 25: R.E.B.U.K.E.

Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. -Revelation 3:19

REPROVE
- rebuke (syn.)
- to administer a rebuke

REBUKE
- reproof; to reprimand sharply
- blame or censure for a failt

You will know that God loves you so much if He rebukes you of your wroing doings.

God is not a Father who spoils His children.

Because you are so loved by God, He will not let you go astray. He will not let you continuesly do sins. He will immediately correct yoy.

Why does God is rebuking you?
What will REBUKE will do good to you?

Remember: R.E.B.U.K.E. is for your:

R - Reconciliation
Sin is what separates us from God. Sin makes us enemy of God.
"Your sins are the roadblock between yoy and God." -Isaiah 59:2
This is the reason why God rebukes you because He wants you to be reconciled with Him.

Reconcile
- to cause to be friendly or harmonious again
- settle
- to bring to submission or acceptance

Remember that Adam and Eve used to experienced close relationship with God before. They can even talk to Him face to face, but because sin enters the life of people, it separates them with God.

Whenever you sin, you separate yourself from God but He is rebuking you as a sign of God wants to be reconciled with you.

Yung feeling na, ikaw na nga ang makagawa ng kasalanan pero si Lord padin ang gagawa ng paraan para magkaayos kayo.

(You know the feeling that it is you that has committed a sin but the Lord is the One making a way just for you to be reconciled with Him.)

Even when we were God's enemies, he made peace with us.. -Romans 5:10

Even if you were still a sinner, God already wants to be reconciled with you which He showed in the cross.

E - Enlightens
Most of the times, God allows us to sin and do wrong thing for us to see that we have done something against His law. But sometimes, He allows that to happened so He can say to us "Child, you have done wrong.." and you will be enlightened through your bad doings.

You will learn more when you experience doing wrong than just beung taught about not doing wrong.

But this doesn't mean that we must purposely do wrong just to learn. No. Don't condemn yourself too much when you've sinned. Instead of condemning yourself, make that sin be right. God is not yet condemning you, actually He wants you to turn to Him immediately and repent.

It's not important how many times you have sinned, what's important is how many times you make your wrong doings right.

Do just cry out when you've sinned against God, do something to prove that you really are repentant.

B -Builds
Humans are naturally prideful. It's hard for most peopke to accept their wrongs and to admit that they have done wrong. God's rebuke is painful to endure, but it will build your character and your Spirit.

I tested you in hard times just as silver is refined in a heated furnace. -Isaiah 48:10

Hard times are not just those problems and circumstances, hars times are also one way of God's rebuke but it intends for us to be shaped into someone that God wants.

U -Upgrades/Updates

The applications in our cellphones or computers becomes more effective, efficient and faster everytime we update it.

Same with spiritual life- whenever God is rebuking us, He updates us. He will not let us stay in our old version, He wants us to be spiritually updated and upgraded!

This is the reason why we last longer in faith and service for God, we become more faster in our growtg and we become more efficient in the state of our fire for Hin.

Whenever God updates us, we upgrade!
We do not stay at our last level.

K -Kills
"I have died, but Christ lives in me. And I now live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave His life for me." -Galatians 2:20

God's rebuke kills our sinful nature—the flesh. And it makes our Spirit alive.

A person who is noe living in Spirit cannot live in the flesh anymore. That's why when God rebukes us, we must decide to kilss those sins and let His Spirit live and dwell in us.

Rebuke changes us through killing our own selves to sins through God's Spirit.

E- Empowers

It means to give authority and power to. God has given us authority iver anything. Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them.

And God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.

Don't let sin overpowers you. Don't let the influence if the enemy overshadow you.

God has given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19) . Be empowered by God's words and spirit!

Rebuke is one proof that God loves you so much. It is for your own good. It is meant to transform you and to lead you in God's righteous path. Accept it wholeheartedly. :)
