MOMENT 35: Real Cost of Christianity

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. -Ephesians 5:1-2

Christian life is a life of reflection of God's light.

Being a real Christian is not distinguish by:
❎ church we are attending
❎ position we play in church
❎ the quantity of Bible verses we memorized
❎ the spiritual habit we do

Christianity is more than just a label.

Christianity is a life of continual change and life influencing and leaving great impact to the ungodly.

As a christian, when was the last time that you realized that you've done something unpleasant infront of God's eyes?
When was the last time you've been so hungry for more to be changed?
When was the last time you desperately want to knoe and be like your Creator?

As a Christian, have you been being okay with what and who you are right now?

Are you already contented with what has been changed in you as if there's nothing that could be improved in you?
Are you already an imitator of Christ in all aspects?

Being an imitator of Christ doesn't require perfection because no one could achieve that. It only required a heart that's willing to be like him.

What does it mean to be an imitator?

IMITATOR
- to make or do something the same way as someone else
- to copt someone's behaviour, sound, appearance, etc.

Does your thinking same as Christ's thinking?
Does your heart same as Christ's heart?
Does your decision-making same as how Christ make a sound decision?
Does your trust in God same as how Christ trust the Father?
Does your speech same as how Christ's speaks?
Does your character same as character of God?

The cost of Christianity is to be Christ-like.

The reason why we became Christian is for us to undergo process of coming back to our original design—after God's own likeness and image.

As an imitator of Christ, we should walk in His love. As we walk in His love, we must spread His love to others. As we share His love to others, we must gave ourselves to others just like how Christ gave Himself for us.

Being an imitator of Christ is doing exactly what He did to glorify the Father and save the mankind.
