Dan's POV

I gently fluttered my eyes open, and yawned. Once I was aware of my surroundings, I noticed my mom by my bed. I instantly pulled the sheets over me, seeing as I only sleep in boxers, and squirmed away.

"Were you watching me sleep?!" I yelled slightly. She just laughed in response, "Maybe... but your father and I have got a great present for you. Just please, don't look out your window until then okay?" "Umm, Kay?" I said before she left.

About two hours later, at around one p.m. we left. Of course my mom blind folded me, and all I knew is that we're were headed somewhere down the road, and that it wasn't too short o a car drive, maybe a few miles. Or less.
Eventually we came to a stop, and my mom opened the car door for me. She helped me out, and counted to three before removing my blindfold.

Before me was an entire ranch it seemed. With horses. Like, real life horses. There were old ones, young ones, large and small, and every color you could think of. Well, any color that would be on a horse.

A boy, about my age, dressed in a plaid yellow shirt, and blue jeans, walked up to me. "Hi, um, I'm Phil." he smiled and held out his hand, and gently fixed his black fringe above his blue/green eyes. I shook it, "I'm Dan."

"So Dan," my mother told me, "Philip will be showing you around, and how to feed, groom, and ride a horse, and later today, you can come back and chose what horse you want to own."
My eyes lit up, "Like, own the horse. Like, it'll be mine?!" "Yes." she laughed, an my dad pat my back. My dad leaned down and whispered, "Now I only want you riding a horse today, not that kid, Philip." I blushed a blossom red, and shoved him away slightly, though I knew he was joking.

"Come on, ain't much daylight left." Philip smiled at me, and pulled my wrist with his to the stables

After he had shown me how to saddle, groom, and even bathe a horse, it was time to ride one.

My clothes however, were a mess. My shoes were not black anymore, but purely brown from the mud and dirt, and the bottom of my pants too. My shirt even was splattered with dirt from trying to bathe that horse, then, like the angel I am, I fell right into the mud.
"Before we ride, lets get you changed, yeah?" Phil asked. "Yes, please." I laughed, and followed him into his house.

His room was blue on all walls, and relatively neat compared to mine. His bed was green, and he had a desk with a small fishbowl on it.

"Here." Phil opened his wardrobe, and tossed me a random set of clothes. "You can change down the hallway. White door on your left." he smiled, and I thanked him.

Once I had changed into a blue plaid shirt and jeans (that were a bit to big for me), I left the bathroom. Phil was standing outside the door, smiling.
He stared at me in a bit of a daze for a second before he said in awe, "You look really beautiful-I mean, uhh..." Yet, then he started to look panicked and embarrassed. I blushed, "Thank you. You don't look bad yourself." He then blushed, and we set off to go ride the horses.
