A/N: yeah, cause I'm sooo good agh these A,B things
Dan's POV
"Thank you sir." I smiled at the old man with the now empty shopping cart. "No, thank you," he replied. "they'd all of die if it weren't for you." I said, "Of course." smiled, and passed him the money.
I set all three of the puppies in a cardboard box with small holes on the bottom, and walked off.
On the walk home, the puppies kept moving and rustling, and barking too. God, I just hope by the time I get home they become quiet or Phil's asleep.
I tried to think of puppy names as I walked home. The old, broke, sad, man told me that there were two boys, and one girl. The girl was yellow, and bigger than the others. The two boys were black and brown, the black one was the runt - the smallest of the three.
I thought of names as I walked along. One came into mind; Lola, for the later girl. and I thought of Justing for the brown puppy. But couldn't put my finger on the last puppy, and what his name should be.
I quietly opened the door, and didn't hear Phil. before deciding where he was, I jogged quietly to the bathroom. I set the box on the floor.
I locked the door, and ran some water in the tub. I made sure it was warm, of course, so the pups weren't cold not hot.
When it was perfect tempature, there was a knock on the door. "Dan?" I heard Phil, "Are you running a bath?" "Um, yes. I'll only be in for a minute." "Ok, just wondering." he replied, and I could hear him walk back down the hall.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in, before I opened the box. Justin was sleeping, but Lola and the small black runt were wide awake, staring at me in fear.
"Sshhh." I whispered, picking Lola up gently. He fur was naturally yellow, but in this state it was a goldish/brown. I set her in the bath, and she barked, and started jumping around in the water.
"Shh." I put two fibers around her nose like a muzzle, and I could hear Phil coming back.
"Dan, are sure you're ok? I thought I hear an animal." "N-No," I replied, quickly thinking, "just playing Crossy Road." "Can't blame you." he laughed, and left. I could hear him enter his room, and close the door.
I quickly pulled my phone out, and played some music. I placed it near the door, and faced it away from us so I could still hear the puppies, but Phil couldn't hear us.
Lola played a bit more, and the water got most of the dirt off of her, but then I scooped up Justin, who had awoken, and set him in the bath. He wasn't as fond of water as Lola, he didn't like it at all, but he want that sacred. Even if he did want to get out, he'd be too small. The runt however, liked the water just as much as Lola.
I got some soap, and tried to clean them all off, and once I was done, I quickly pulled them out, and put them back in the box. The box was now ruined and wet, but that didn't matter.
I drained the tub, and got a towel from the cupboard.
I picked up Justin and rubbed him off until he was dry, then Lola, then the runt.
They were all clean, but now I had to think of a way to get them to stay quiet until tomorrow, and hide them so Phil wouldn't know.
I looked all around the bathrrom until I found bandages. Not small Band-Aids, but full, long, white, bandages.
I took some off, and wrapped it around their mouths, but not their noses, and tightened them enough so they wouldn't bark. None of them liked it, Lola even tried to get it of with her paws, but ended up falling over.
I set down the towel in bottom of the bathtub, and put the pups in.
I stopped playing the music, and quietly left the bathroom. Once I did, I decided to check on Phil.
"Hey, Phil?" I asked quietly. He turned around an sat up, "Yeah?" "Umm, I was just wondering what dinner plans were." "Oh, we can go out to a diner or something later, if you'd like." "Umm, can we just eat here?" I asked as Phil stood up. "Sure." he replied, and grabbed my hips, and leaned down slightly to kiss me. " Just let me take a shower first." he said. "No!" I screamed, pulling on his arm as he started to walk away. "I mean, um, can't it wait? I'm hungry." "Uh, ok. Let's order pizza?" "Yes, you order pizza in the lounge, and I'll be right there."
I pushed him out, and he gave me a confused look before pulling his phone out, and dialing a number. As soon as he was down the hall, I sprinted to the bathroom, and slammed the door open. I graben all three pups in my arms, and ran back upstairs and in my bedroom
I dropped the puppies on the floor, and slammed the door behind me, and locked it. I breathed heavily, leaning on the door.
Eventually, after I caught my breath, I looked down at the pups. I didn't know where I was gonna hide them, and I didn't know how I was going to gift them either.
Eventually, I decided to put them under my bed, and I surrounded the bottom of my bed with pillows. I feel bad for them really, but as soon as Phil falls asleep, I can start letting them out and around the house a bit.
After dinner, which I knew Phil knew that I was nervous, the whole time, Phil went and took a shower. I have the rest of the leftover pizza to the puppies one by one, seeing as I had to keep them quiet and not have a muzzle on all of them.
Though, I did feed them without Phil knowing, and we eventually slept in his room. He was asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, and I carefully got up and left.
I found a giant box from a video I filmed a while ago, and put the puppies in there with a tiny bit of water and a towel on the bottom, then closed it up and poked a few holes in the top of the box.
Tomorrow is Phil's birthday.
