Phil's POV
My phone buzzed in my pocket as I walked to Dan and I's new apartment from the shop. I pulled it out and unlocked it. It read, "From Dan❤️: Hey, when r u gonna b home. I'm hungry as hell!!1" I giggled a bit and texted back, "I'm coming. 5 more minutes k? Start making dinner without me :)"
I slipped my phone into my pocket and looked up at the sky. It was beautiful; the stars shined brightly, some twinkling to the sounds of the London roads by night. The snow on the ground was thin and sparkled with the lights on the trees that made a perfect path right to our flat. No one was around, it was peaceful and quiet besides the sound of a couple cars, and people in late-night shops.
I kept my head up, string at all the beauty with my mouth slightly opened; I never got to see London like this because I'm usually with Dan, and I never take my eyes off of him.
Yet, as my head stayed stiffly up, me being clumsy, I stepped on something and heard a squeal from under neath me. I tripped, and just barely caught myself before falling over.
"What the f-" I cut myself off with a gasp, seeing what I ha tripped on. "Oh my god, I'm sorry." I crouched down, seeing a small golden doodle puppy a couple feet from me. I held out my hand for her to sniff, in hopes that he wouldn't hate me for stepping on her. She hesitantly stepped forward before sniffing my hand. "See, I'm nice." I smiled, moving m hand to her head where I lightly pet her. She nuzzled her head into my hand before pouncing into me, covering my face in licks. "Aww." I smiled, picking her up and getting back on my feet. She shuffle herself in my arms until she was comfortable, and I looked around.
There wasn't a single person outside, besides the speeding cars, about flurry feet away. "Hello!?" I yelled, looking around for any sign of her owner. No one.
I decided to text Dan on my way back to the new flat, holding the pup in one arm. "Hey, I gotta suppose for you when I get home. Please don't be mad at me :(" I crossed the street. and could see the new, bigger and better apartment complex just a block away. Dan texted back, "Babe, I wot get mad. Promise :)" "k, good :)"
I unlocked the door, and stepped inside, seeing the hallway into the living room where Dan's head was resting on the arm of our couch.
"Hey, you're-" he stopped, turning around and had a confused look on his face. "What that?" He asked, pointing to the puppy as I stood up. "Its a puppy. I tripped on her when I was coming home, and then I pet her, and now she likes me so I brought her home." "Phil," Dan sighed, "You know we can't have pets." "Yes we can, Dan we live in a new apartment, remember?" I said, slightly shaking the golden doodle. "Phil, we can barely keep ourselves alive," he said sarcastically, "We can't take care of a puppy." "Yes we can. Please. we can't leave her on the streets." I have him puppy eyes. He looked down at her, and she had puppy eyes too, nearly begging to stay. "Guys." Dan dragged out before sighing. "Fine, we can keep her." he said reluctantly. The puppy jumped up, putting two paws on Dan chest, standing on my arms, and started licking Dan's face. He laughed, and pet her head.
I set her on the ground, and kissed Dan's cheek. "Thank you, bear." I whispered. "Yeah, shut up." he laughed. "What're we gonna name her?" I asked. "Thought you already did he laughed. I shook my head and started thinking of a good name for her.
"LLP?" I suddenly asked, watching the puppy sniff her new surroundings. "LLP?" Dan questioned. "Yeah, Little Lost Puppy." "That's weird," he giggled, "But I like it!"
Dan and I sat down at the table to eat, and LLP waited patiently for her food. We just gave her our leftovers and decided to get proper dog food tomorrow, along with other things a puppy may need.
Later, we got in bed at around one a.m. and LLP slept just above our heads, snuggling herself into the enter of two pillows. She'll sometimes pretend to run in her sleep, and Dan and I would giggle at her, trying not to wake her. She was perfect.
"Can't believe I'm saying this," Dan whispered looking up at LLP, then back down at me, "I'm seriously so glad your clumsy." "What!?" I asked in a whisper. "Cause, that's how you found LLP. The darkness lets the stars shine."
He smiled, snuggling in my chest and soon fell asleep.
I stayed awake, watching Dan sleep peacefully. Soon, LLP snuggled herself into Dan's hair, and I couldn't help but let out a small, "Aww."
I kissed both their foreheads whispering, "I love you." before falling asleep myself.
