A/N: thank you @myrandajey for giving me this idea!

"Danny!" I heard Phil walk into the lounge, wining. "Yeah?" I asked, looking up, and used the same winy voice. "Can we get a pet?" "Phil..." I groaned, already mentally blocking him out.

These conversations are usually all the same. He begs, I say no, we fight a bit, I kiss him to make him shut up, and we live happily ever after. Well, not this time.

"No, Dan, please." Phil shook me as I ignored him. "No." I said bluntly, turning to my computer. Then he stopped, crossed his arms like a five year old, and pouted. "Fine," he declared, "No kisses until you listen to me." That's when I tuned back in. "What?" I asked, slightly sad and worried, speaking quickly. "No kisses until we properly talk about this." "Phil-I... we can't." "Why not?" He replied sassily. "Just...'cause Phil, we can't. We can barely take care of ourselves, and it really isn't that easy. it's not like we can just go to a store, get one, and come back home happily ever after." "Why not?" He asked again. "Because I said so." I sighed. "Remember the 'no kisses' thing?" Phil teased, and I groaned in response. "Ok, I'll think about it." I shook my head, and opened a new tab in my browser. "Yay! You're the best boyfriend ever." Phil jumped, sitting on his knees, and hugged me. "You can have all the kisses in the world now!" "Good." I laughed, grabbing his face and crashing his lips against mine.

I did a bit of research while Phil was asleep, and came across a site. A pet adoption sight.

There were puppies, bunnies, birds, and even hamsters (which, after the hat fic, I instantly scrapped the idea), but what stood out to me, for some reason, we're the cats and kittens.

They just looked so fluffy and small and cute, and god, now I know what Phil was taking about. I want to get a pet. No, I need to get a pet.

In the morning, I told Phil what I did. "So, you're saying we can get a pet?" His eyes lit up, and he leaned forward in excitement. I bit my lip and nodded. He gasped, and instantly flung himself at me from the other side of the sofa, and tackled me.

I landed with an, "Oof." and started laughing before Phil pressed his lips against mine quickly. "Oh my god, I'm so excited!" He squealed as we sat back up. "Well, you should bribe ably take a cool shower to solve that." I teased. "Dan." he complained, and his shoulder went limp.

After a day or two, we decided to adopt a cat, well, a kitten rather, and we were going to get him/her from this online website.

Basically, as we searched the 'Cats Crazy!' Section (how cheesy), Phil saw a small kitten I didn't even notice. "There!" He pointed to the screen as we laid on the duvet of his bed. "Oh, didn't even see that one." I chuckled slightly, and clicked on the picture.

It was a male, only a few weeks old, and his name was Mika. Then the also give you a bunch of info about him. His 'Kitty History' read,

"This little cutie is Mika. He was first found on the streets of south London in an alleyway, only a week or so old. Rescuers found him and brought in to a dirty pound, where he was adopted. After a while, those owners have him away to a random homeless man (thinking he could care for it), claiming "He's to small, and untrainable." after that he was sad opted and brought back two times before we found him, and took him in. Now he's been living with us for a week, and has had no interested buyers yet."

"Aww, that's so sad." I said. "Should we get him?" "I dunno, they said he was untrainable." I replied, reading over it again. "Yeah, they also thought a homeless man could take care of a kitten." "Yeah, that's true..." I bit my lip. "Come on, he's so cute and perfect." I paused before nodding. "Ok." "Yes!" Phil threw his fists in the air.

Later that afternoon, around one, Phil set out to buy supplies. Food, toys, and all that, and we planed to go out tonight after dinner to pick him up from the adoption center.

"I'm so excited! Look there it is!" Phil squealed as the store came into view. Since Phil's been excited all day, it really rubbing of on me, so I naturally squeezed back, "Yay!"

We paid the taxi driver, and stepped out and into the store. A woman with fake red, natural hair, and freckles smiled, "Hello! Are you hear to pick up a pre-pet (which meant you requested to have that pet saved for you), or are you here to look around and chose?" "We're here to look around and chose." Phil smiled and grabbed my hand. "Ok, come back if you have any questions, or when you find the perfect pet." "We will." I waved, then turned the corner.
Eventually, we found where all the kittens were, and walked down the aisle of cages. They were all quite small, but looked comfortable.

Then, I saw him. Mika, near the end of the aisle, he was pressed up against the glass, staring at us longingly with his big blue eyes. "There!" I shouted, and ran towards him, dragging Phil with me.

We got to him, and looks inside the cage, bending down slightly to see him. "Aww, hi Mika." Phil cooed, and Mika me owed back at him. "Aww." we both sang in unison.

Phil went back and got the girl, Erica, and she smiled once she say me with my hand pressed against the container. "Ahh, Mika..." she said, sounding sad. "What? Is he a bad cat?" I asked. "No, he just has been in and out of here at least four times. Please promise me you'll take care of him, and dedicate time to him." "We will." Phil smiled.
She handed me a key, and said I could unlock it. I was so excited, I almost dropped the keys. Once I opened the cage, I gently reached my hand in there, and petted him. His fur was softer then a polar bear.

He pushed his head up against my hand and purred. "Come here little guy." I grabbed him gently with two hands, and held him in my arms. He meowed, and rubbed his head against my chest.

Phil stood beside me and smiled, petting the small kitten, then wrapped an arm around my waist. "So, you're going to take him, I assume." She smiled. "Yeah, we will." I said as Mika continued to run his small, fragile head against Phil's large, stiff hand.
