I knocked on my brothers door hoping he would answer.
"Come on Kelly. Please."
He opened the door.
"Hey y/n! Its great to see you!"
His eyes wondered to my belly.
"Are you pregnant?"
"That's why I'm in Chicago again."
"Who's the dad y/n?" he asked in a sterner voice
"The last person I slept with kinda sorta was Jay right before we broke up."
"Your kidding right y/n?"
I shook my head no.
He sighed.
"Did you at least tell him?"
I shook my head no again.
"Really y/n! How far along are you?"
"7 months."
"Come in."
I saw Stella sitting on the couch.
"Hey Stella. I'm sure you heard."
"Yeah. Are you ok?"
"Sure." I said with a laugh.

The next morning I got in my car and drove to the district.
"Hey Trudy!"
"Hey Y/ln!" She got out from behind the desk and gave me a hug.
"Oh my god! Your pregnant."
"Yeah. With Jays baby."
"What?" Her eyes widened in shock.
I slowly nodded.
"He doesn't know I'm going to tell him now."
"Good luck. Your gonna need it."
"Thanks Trudy."
I walked up the stairs of the place I used to work.
"Y/ln is that you?" Erin asked.
"In the flesh."
She ran over to me and gave me a hug.
"Are you pregnant?"
I nodded.
"Is it?"
I nodded again.
"That's amazing but does he know."
I nodded no.
"He's in the break room. Go tell him."
I walked over to the break room where Jay
was standing making coffee.
"Hey stranger." I said leaning against the doorframe.
He turned towards me. I could tell he knew it was my voice.
"Y/n?"
His eyes instantly darted towards my stomach.
"We need to talk."
He motioned for me to sit down.
"I'm just gonna come right out and say it. I matched the dates up and this baby is yours."
He looked shocked.
"You don't have to be involved at all and I get it if you don't want to be a part of this baby's life you don't have to be, I can do this by myself I just thought you should know."
He sat in silence I could tell he was thinking.
"Just please say something."
"Of course I want to be part of this baby's life."
"Oh thank god because I can't do this on my own."
He stifled out a laugh.
"Jay let's start over. As friends, and if we are meant to be together it will happen again."
"Ok let's start over. Hi i'm Jay Halstead."
I laughed.
"Hi I'm y/n y/ln."
"Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too."
